Lemonade's Sketchy Thread!

Woo, here we go! :P

Alright, I'm making a new thread where I have all of my Pokemon sketches.

Aerodactyl

Steven

Grumpig

Update: July 9, 2007

Sceptile

More to come soon, just gotta have time to make them.

Also, I was wondering, I have my sketches that I put on my scanner then just upload them, but how do people upload their drawings, then make them all solid and colored? Is there a certain program to use?

GrayLuna July 7th, 2007 4:57 PM

i think there all really cool especially Grumpig the shading gives it a 3D look

Live in Color July 7th, 2007 5:03 PM

Thank you very much. :P

I actually shaded the Aerodactyl and Steven too, but because of the scanner, it didn't pick it up because maybe it was too light? I don't know, but yeah, I had to go really dark on the Grumpig in order for it to look actually shaded. So in real life it looks REALLY dark.

Sakurah July 7th, 2007 5:21 PM

I really love the first sketch.
Nicely done. ^^

Live in Color July 7th, 2007 5:32 PM

Thank you. :D

Tomorrow I'll draw another and post it. I'm thinkin'... Sceptile/Grovyle/Both? :P

GrayLuna July 7th, 2007 5:46 PM

your welcome
yea scanners don't really scan well when its drawn lightly with pencil but i can see the shading in Aerodactyl and a little on Steven

Shadow Chaos July 8th, 2007 10:10 AM

Cool, I like the Grumpig one!! Keep it up!!

Live in Color July 8th, 2007 11:16 AM

Thank you everyone. :P

One thing's still unanswered though. How do people create drawings then upload them to the computer and make them look cartoony and coloured and stuff.

GrayLuna July 8th, 2007 3:10 PM

I think people use programs like paint shop pro and adobe photoshop

Burzes July 8th, 2007 3:32 PM

If i was a teacher for pokemon, Id give you an A+ because ive never seen anyone match pokemon caracters so perfectly.

Rivvon July 8th, 2007 3:36 PM

You're really good at drawing Pokemon! All I can say to work on is Steven's face, it looks a bit too round and chubby. But besides that it's all very well. Keep up the great work!

Live in Color July 8th, 2007 7:08 PM

Thank you very much everyone :P

I have Adobe Photoshop, but I don't know how to do all the coloring or without using the line tool over and over to get the good outline. Is there another way?

The dawn Witch Lucia July 8th, 2007 7:19 PM

Want me to color them? Cause I could. ^_^
Also, nice work!

Yes, see if you can draw something like that.

I like the second drawing of Steven. He looks cute for some reason.

Eternal Smasher, find me a good full body picture of Grovyle/Sceptile and I'll draw it for you by the end of tomorrow. :P

And ShadowLati0s, I don't really want others to color my drawings, but I want to learn how to do it myself, thank you though.

I couldn't find many good pictures of Sceptile, but I hope these will do.

Live in Color July 8th, 2007 8:04 PM

That's a good picture. I drew that Aerodactyl from a picture about the size of the Sceptile. I'll get started tomorrow morning when I wake up. :P

Mr.Altosax July 9th, 2007 6:06 AM

Good job, I like the pose you used for Grumpig. Steven's face isn't perfect, but it's still really good.

PokemonRox July 9th, 2007 6:13 AM

Thanks dude. That drawing looks good!

Live in Color July 9th, 2007 11:39 AM

Thank you. And for tomorrow my friend requested I do Yanmega, hopefully it's not too hard. Sceptile was pretty hard, took me a while to get the right head-shape.

Regi DS July 9th, 2007 1:33 PM

These drawings are really good. Keep it up =)

My only critique I can give you is that these are copied directly from official artwork. It would be awesome to see you give them original poses.

Live in Color July 9th, 2007 2:05 PM

I never copied anything that you drew...

Sceptile I used this:
http://dex.pokemonpalace.net/sprites/bigimages/254.png

Aerodactyl I used this:
http://www.dltk-kids.com/pokEMon/adoptions/aeroda14.gif

Grumpig I used a picture from google and Steven I used from the Pokemon Emerald little guide book that comes with it...

beauty. proletariat July 9th, 2007 11:09 PM

Sceptile: The tail looks really dull and boring. The leaves on its hands should be given some shading. Dont be afraid to twist a hand a little, or nudge a face etc. (in this case, make the leaf more at an angle) so you can shade them. If you had shaded the gold bell things on his back, it would look like you had actually put them in... right now, it dosent look of it..

I know how hard it is to draw sceptile XD..
since I can only draw a pikachu or mew properly = =...
