Question About Starters

Um, how do you obtain a female starter pokemon? I really need one.

Oh, and...Can the Arceus plates be used on pokemon other than Arceus? Do they have other uses?

And, at what level does Bunery evolve? Mine's at lv. 30 and she hasn't evolved yet.

Gunn July 9th, 2007 4:36 PM

The plates can be used to power up a Pokémon depending on type. For example, Zap Plate would power up an Electric-type Pokémon. Buneary evolves by Happiness, by the way. Not sure about your first question though.

Ayano Katagiri July 9th, 2007 4:36 PM

You can get female starters, it's just that they have a Male to Female ratio of 87.5% to 12.5%, making it less common for females to appear. Just keep trying.

I think the plates can affect other Pokemon too, they increase their type's attack power by 10%

Buneary evolves by happiness, not by levelling.

Either restart the game until you get it female, trade from someone who has it, or breed it with a Ditto until you get a female one.

I had heard the plates boost moves by 20%.

Is it 20%? I heard it was 10% from awhile back before the US release.

*goes checking* O_o

I heard it powers up a Pokémon by 20% as well. o:

just keep breeding.eventually you'll get one.and for all the ones that arent you can just use them as trade bait.although odd thing....i tried to breed bonslys and the first three were girls.sometimes it just feels random

Myoko-chan July 9th, 2007 4:43 PM

It's 20%.....10% is nature lol

Avolition July 9th, 2007 5:10 PM

It's just usually by luck. I got a female Chimchar in Diamond. It's a 12.5% chance, which sucks.

i dont really understand whats so special about a girl starter just because it is rare .

and if they are im breeding my infernape and my 3rd generation pokemon until i have a few starters for the GTS

Avolition July 9th, 2007 5:36 PM

It's special because you can breed with it as soon as you get to the day care. Otherwise, you'd have to wait until you get to Canalave, and use a Pokeradar to find Ditto, and even then it's rare.

codymr14 July 9th, 2007 5:43 PM

i have a female treecko and torchic would those be considered rarer

Avolition July 9th, 2007 5:44 PM

I guess, it doesn't matter which starter. I got a female Torchic in Sapphire, and I've battled someone with a female Sceptile. Just depends how much female starters you have. If you have one, you're already pretty lucky, though.
