Wi-Fi IP Adress?
I connect to Wi-Fi using the USB connector (dongle), but it doesnt have an IP Address or something. Or it doesnt have the right one. I dont understand, and I just got it about a half hour ago...Can somebody help? Also, im using a USB Connector, not a Router.
It also says... Error Code:52002 Unable to obtain an IP address |
Sorry m, can't you you on this one. I've never experienced this problem, but before on my router I had problems with the WEP key. Figured that out though.

Yeah, the DS finds a connection, it just doesnt find an IP Address. Out of the 3 connection things on the game, I have the first 2 but not the third one. |
Did you try manualy imputing the IP adress?
If not heres how you do it. ON DS 1. Go to Nintendo WFC Settings 2. Go to one of the connections.(the one ur trying to connect to) 3. Now Stop ON COMPUTER 1. Go to your Start Menu and click run. 2. A box should popup, type in "cmd" in the box. 3. A box with all this black stuff will popup, now type in "ipconfig/all" and then press enter. 4. A whole bunch of text will popup, now heres how you do it. See all that information? Copy it down. ON DS 1.Turn off Automatically obtain IP adress 2. Now, look at what you have on your paper. You need to make the IP adress 10digits higher than the one you have. eg. If the black box said IP Adress.............123.234.456, so on DS you put 123.234.466 3. Now the record the info on every line in the black box onto your ds. 4.There, you have manually imputed the DS's IP Adress This is how the black box should look like http://img108.imageshack.us/img108/8137/screenshotblackboxce2.png This is where you enter the codes... http://img175.imageshack.us/img175/2310/picture001aa5.jpg |

Im doing exactly what you tell me but it keeps telling me that the settings are invalid. What am I doing wrong? say my ip address is... 206.251.18.202 should i put it in like this: 206.251. 18.212 |

You also need to re-entering the codes of each category(Subnet Mask, Gateway Primary DNS, Secondary DNS)from the black box onto your DS. (Btw Secondary DNS can be the same as Primary.) |

Thanks for the help, but im hopeless. It just keeps telling me that its invalid. Man, I hope I didnt waste all this money for nothing... It says: Primary DNS Suffix: then its blank. I also cant find how to get a WEP Key. |

I wish this would work, so I can stop annoying you...I filled in everything (exept for the WEP Key, cant find it) and it still tells me its invalid. I dont know what im doing wrong. I hate it that im still up this early in the morning annoying you to help me, when im probably just doing something stupid. |
Well.. I gotta sleep now..sorry. Maybe ask your parents what the internet password is?

Thanks to everyone who helped me, and I hope I can get it working soon to trade with some people and battle. Ichida, I need to enter ALL the information, and my information that I DO have isnt invalid? I hope so. |
Is WEP the problem, because since I called Nintendo, I know everything there is about the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB connector.
Is it a problem with the password, because if it isn't I know how to help you. 1. Have you made an internet network on your computer? 2. Are you pressing "connect with the USB connector"? |
You probably just need the WEP key, which is the password for your connection. You'll need to get it from your parents, or whoever set up the connection.

I dont know, do I need to enter EVERYTHING of the information? If so, I dont know how to get my WEP Key, so that may have been the reason it said my information was invalid. Well, thanks everyone, im gonna go to bed though. Bye! |
You don't need to enter anything if you're using the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB connector.
Have you enabled a connection network? |

You mean I havent had to enter anything all this time...and how do I enable a connection network? |
lol, all right.
Start > Programs > Accessories > Communications > Network Setup Wizard. Next > Then click "This computer connects through a residential gateway". > Next> Type in a name [doesn't matter] > Next > Next > Next > Next. That should let the Wifi USB connector know that you're using that. Now this is the annoying part. Start > Programs > Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector > Uninstall. After it's uninstalled, you have to restart your computer. Now when it loads back up, put the disc in. Make sure the USB connector is unplugged, and ignore the setup that pops up. Now you wanna go to My Computer > Right click the CD and pick "Explore." NintendoWFCreg > SoftAP > Devremove [the computer with a circle around it.] All right when you click it, a crap load of "?" will appear. Click yes. It should remove all drivers from the connector. Restart your computer again. When it starts back up, put in the installation disc, and install it. When it asks you to plug the USB connector in, do it. It should succesfully install, and you should see a blue logo in the logo bar [bottom, right of screen]. Click that, and a thing should pop up. No go to your DS. And go to the Wi-Fi settings. Now click the empty thing and instead of clicking "Search for an Access point." Click "Connect with your Wi-Fi USB Connector." On the registration tool on your computer, it should pop up, and then you should click it and pick "Allow Permission to Connect." Hope it helped ^_^ |
