EV/Pokerus Question
Ok, say i have Pokerus on a poke (which i do). If i use say Power Anklet on a poke, and battle a magikarp (+1 Speed) will the EV be 10 total?
Bump...is this correct or no??
Yeah, I've been wondering about that, too... does the Pokerus factor in first or the Power item? I may have screwed up EV training a few Pokemon...
u have failed as a perfectionist hav a good day
Lumine... What was the point of your post? If your not going to help out, why post...
I have no idea what a Power Anklet is... unless you're referring to a Macho Brace, in which case, the EV's for the PKMN are quadrupled (if Magikarp is +1 speed, and you have Pokérus, then you would get +2 speed. If you have Pokérus AND a Macho Brace, you get double the already-doubled points, so you'd get +4 speed per Magikarp)
Again, maybe there's an item called a Power Anklet that I've never heard of, but... I can't imagine that I would've not heard about it for this long if it existed... |

and probably battles with legendaries ;) |

A power anklet gives +4 extra Speed EVs after battle |

As far as the question, I keep seeing different answers to this question. I myself don't use Pokérus as the Power items are fine enough for me, so I can't give a solid answer either. XD |
well, would you use Pokerus if you knew that it would give +10 with Power items XD
I know the benefits of it, but I'm generally okay without it. I tend to be really patient. XD I may use Pokérus in the future, but right now, I'd rather not screw up the way I count the EVs I get with a new factor.
Oh wow, I'm an idiot, I actually had heard about those items, I just forgot what they were called. I haven't even bothered to check out the Battle Tower yet, since I'm still more concerned with catching PKMN to EV train for my team.
Since that's the case, I honestly couldn't say whether or not you'd get 10, because I never looked much into it for myself. In my opinion, it doesn't take a terribly long time to EV train even with just a Macho Brace, although it's still very repetitive. |
so...anyone know the true answer?
I suppose the only true way to know the answer is for someone to actually do it and tell us what happens.
well im sure there is someone that has done it... I think that it is 10 because for the Macho Brace explanation, it says that Macho Brace gives it 2 then you multiply the pokerus for 4
ok, you will get 10 if you originally get 1 +4 (Power item) * 2 (pokrus) I have Ev trained all my pokes this way and to be certain i even got a effort ribbon, it does double them.
i have read in a few places willypiggy's explanation as well.
i hope it works. i guess the best thing is for someone to test it out? ill try this. max out the one stat, save it, and see how many berries (to subtract that stat) it takes to go back down to 0. and then you have your answer. |
WOW! 10 EVs?!? This has to be one of the best things I have learned! *Goes and starts EV training.*

How would you know how many EVs are in the stat... ive never used these berries, so im noobish on that lol |
You would get 6 EVs. Power Anklet gives in addition. We all remember PEMDAS don't we?
First you would multiply the EVs, and the add the additional. (1 Speed EV x 2 For POKERUS) + 4 Additional EVs from Power Anklet = 6 EVs total ------------ Or think about in a logical sense. Pokerus doubles the amount of EVs. Power Anklet gives +4 EVs in Speed. If we battle a Magikarp and it gives of 1 EV in speed. How many EVs would we get? Now to further break it down. We all know that Magikarp gives 1 speed based on the statement. So Let's Write OUr EV count down. 1. Now we read about Pokerus doubling EVs... 1 x 2 = 2 EVs in Speed. So far we have 2 Speed EVs. Now we go to the Power Anklet. Which gives us an additional 4 2 + 4 = 6 There we have solved the problem. Our grand total of EVs is 6. ------------- You may as well find a +3 Speed giver. Equip Macho Brace Hope it Acquires Pokerus. Then you would get +12 EVs surefire. |

The problem is that Since he would have 12 EVs not 20, you couldn't find out for sure anyways...
No, when you read it always has the pokerus multiplying last, so 1 + 4 = 5 X 2 = 10....We need the answer, because we are getting 6 and 10 out of 50% of the answers... Not helping very much lol

Parenthesis Exponent Multiply/Divide Addition/Subtraction, These are in the order of which solutions to complex equations form from. Whatever is in the Parenthesis is always solved first. Addition/Subtraction is always solved 2nd. In a game in which there a many math equations, PEMDAS law is in effect. That means you do not add before you multiply. 1x2+4=6 For yet another simple Breakdown for you to understand, X meaning an indeterminate number. 1(ev)x2(pokerus) = 2(evs) 2(evs)+4(evs)= x(evs) 6(evs)= x(evs) |
