pokeradar question

i have been using the pokeradar to try to get a shiny all my own, and i am a little puzzled. everyone always says that you can just use the pokeradar to try to find a certain pokemon, but all the pokeradar does is show the patches of grass where the pokemon are. is there some sort of way to tell what pokemon you are encountering?

nope, its like running into a normal patch of grass and encountering a random pokemon. but once you run into a radar patch and find the pokemon your after you can hopefully intiate a chain. The idea being to defeat or catch many of the same type of pokemon each time decreasing that massive 1/8192 shiny encounter rate.
Chaining is a luck based system with an element of skill, search on youtube to get the basic idea of wat to do.
ITS GOING TO TAKE YOU AAAAGGGEEEESSSSSS
^^^^my subtle warning
