My Chingling

Hey guys, I am new here so sorry if I am posting in the wrong section. I just got Diamond two-three days ago.

I just got a Chingling and I was reading up on it and it has to be night time and it has to be happy to evolve? My Chingling is calm nature but mischievous and lvl 19.

Is there a way to make pokemon happy in the game because if there is I totally missed it.

wolfie1177 July 12th, 2007 9:36 AM

yeah, soothe bell, massage and i thinkk maybe going on walks in the "cute" pokemon park(i may be wrong about the last one)

Happiness is a somewhat hidden stat that is built up in various ways. Simply carrying around the Pokémon and walking around with them makes them happier over time. They also get happier when they level up. You can also raise happiness by giving them vitamins, or feeding them certain berries. Massages can be given by certain people in-game to increase happiness further. Having the Pokémon hold a Soothe Bell with quicken the rate it gets happier.

Happiness can also go down, however. The happiness level goes down when the Pokémon faints, and it resets when it is traded to someone else.

Forgive me if I forgot anything, I'm somewhat groggy this morning. And you can check the Pokémon's happiness using the 6th Pokétch App (forgot the proper name, but I call it "the Happy App" because it's fun to say >.>).

wolfie1177 July 12th, 2007 9:47 AM

i dont think i have that app, do you know where to get it?

Pkmn Trainer Alex July 12th, 2007 9:49 AM

Aiya, my sister had the same trouble and I forgot where it was. I just talk to everyone and get everything as I go...I think it was in Eterna City's Pokémon Center, but I'll double-check real quick.

Edit: Yes, in Eterna City's Pokémon Center, a girl gives you the Friendship Checker App.

So where can you get the soothe bell? Where do you go to give your pokemon a massage? I think I gave my parichisu a massage before but I forget where I did it.

I am not positive but I think pokemons' happiness gradually decreases if it remains in the PC.

Soothe Bell is in the Pokemon Mansion, south of Hearthome. Massages can be given in Veilstone and the Resort Ribbon place thingie, I believe. ~Wii

That is SO wrong...
I hope.

Try giving it a walk in Amity Square (Hearthome City), getting it a massage, or letting it hold the Soothe Bell.

Gunn July 12th, 2007 3:12 PM

Remember, it also evolves at night, so Happiness will not cut it alone.

Edit: Wtf, Lv. 30? I'm thinking of some other Pokémon ...
