Which do you prefere, Hand drawing or Computer drawing (Paint program)

Read the title! Which do you prefere?

katfox2 May 23rd, 2004 8:29 AM

Drawing!!!

I prefere Drawing because it's much more better!!! :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:
I am REALLY, REALLY good at drawing!!! :D :D :D

asher_son_of_ash May 23rd, 2004 8:32 AM

Computers.

There should be an option called both there. ;) But anyway, back on topic, I like to draw on the computer as I can't by hand. o.o; I'm a goof when I draw by hand... =P I suck at drawing hands on paper too.

Hex Maniac May 23rd, 2004 8:34 AM

i prefer hand drawing because it's easier (for me anyway :P )

+el_pal May 23rd, 2004 8:35 AM

Sorry, I forgot that. But I really asked what would you PREFERE. So you can like both but do another. Love drawing by hand! Sketching, color, you don't have to worry about tiny little pixels.

Pokedragonfire May 23rd, 2004 8:36 AM

I like to DRAW by hand, but coloring is the computer's job. Go flood fill! ^_^

+el_pal May 23rd, 2004 8:37 AM

Yeah that is a good side of doing it on computer.

AngelWolfie May 23rd, 2004 8:40 AM

I prefer to draw by hand...I'm really good when it comes to pencils ^_^

Marco May 23rd, 2004 8:48 AM

I like to draw on Computer Paint but I suck at drawing all the way.

Chairman Kaga May 23rd, 2004 8:58 AM

I prefer hand-drawing a whole lot...I'm actually semi-talented at pencil sketching, but it's been so long since I've sketched that I'm not as good as I used to be...summer's going to change that though, I'll have plenty of time to practice! (I hope ._. )

digi-kun May 23rd, 2004 11:47 AM

i use the computer more often, but i tend to do better on paper

Frostweaver May 23rd, 2004 12:39 PM

Considering that I can't draw, it really doesn't matter... ._.;

Both type of drawings are good to me imho... but then now there are more and more people using a mix of both... draw it by hand first, then scan it for editing

Evil Togepi May 23rd, 2004 1:21 PM

I prefer to draw by hand on paper but I'd rather scan it in and colour it afterwards on the computer XD

Though I don't mind drawing straight onto the computer, I feel my art is better when I draw on paper.

Cherrim May 23rd, 2004 2:33 PM

I like them both. I'm much better at drawing by hand and I've been doing it longer, so it should take precedence over computer art... but I do like to draw on the computer, too. ^_^; I've got a tablet, so it's not that much harder. Plus, I LOVE the undo button. =X If I make a little mistake, instead of erasing and possibly leaving pencil marks, I just hit undo and I can do it over again. ^^;;

So.. I have no preference at all. ^_^;

Iveechan May 23rd, 2004 2:40 PM

I like both, but it really depends. Some people overphotoshop their pictures, and some just use it for the blendy tool... I much prefer hand-done artwork. There's no re-do or back button, so you can't risk a mistake. It takes much more skill. And I prefer to do hand drawn images,

TRIFORCE89 May 23rd, 2004 2:40 PM

I can't draw on the computer. All I have is a mouse and Microsoft Paint. There is only so much you can do with that. I like to draw by hand. But I don't like colouring unless its absolutely nessacary (SP?) and even then everything I do is either a doodle, a sketch or a cartoon. I never "professionally finish" my work. However, I will be creating 3D CGI art soon. My mom said she would buy me the program, but she hasn't yet so...

ash_misty4ever May 23rd, 2004 2:45 PM

I love to hand draw. Its much easier, and I'm better at it. I don't have to worry about color fil because I normally leave my drawings uncolored.

Kyosuke May 23rd, 2004 2:49 PM

Its much easier to hand draw for me, I can't control myself on the computer XD. Sometimes I may color it in, and if I do, I scan them on my computer, and use a program to color them in.

Geometric-sama May 23rd, 2004 8:29 PM

I'm much better at hand drawing, I'm not used to drawing on the computer, especially colouring. It's easier since I got my tablet though XD.

Forest Grovyle May 24th, 2004 2:58 AM

I do both - I consider myself to be better at computer-drawn pieces, but I will attempt hand-drawn ones once in a while. :) I like computer programs because of the wide range of effects you can create without having to own the proper materials - you can't buy Prismas in England, so I have to import them...:(

Purin May 24th, 2004 3:02 AM

It depends. But drawing on paper saves electricity if you are doing it in the daytime =P And you can draw on paper anytime and anywhere you go.

Seoul May 24th, 2004 10:56 PM

yes. i 'hat' drawing.
but i dont wear hats.

I have a distaste for computer stuff... partly because it so easy to pull off, in a sense, and too many people do it these days with their stolen software.
Also because I only have a mouse and such and carpaltunel syndrom on and off from being freakin addicted to this lame piece of technology.

I like being old fashioned. It gives one more satisfaction. well, me.

Good golly woman...I've seen both sides of your work...I think you are FAR beter at hand drawings...man your good...

oh, paper rules...

BOO ya!

Flaming Torchic May 25th, 2004 3:46 PM

I consider myself better at drawing on the computer (not that I'm very good either way though =P), whenever I draw on paper, I always mess up what I intend to draw, but for some reason, I can draw some things on the computer with much more ease (like Torchic's head-feather, I can't do that at all on paper).

Kairi May 25th, 2004 4:00 PM

Coloring on the computer saves artists a lot of money though, and looks pretty good IMO. Of course I have no idea about anything related to art, so… ._.;
