EV Questions

1) Are rare candies and day care the only way to train without getting ev's? (Can't do rare candies because I don't have enough, and day care might get rid of my nice egg moves)

2) What level do you find it most convinient to start ev training?

Xbaseballkid93x July 13th, 2007 6:58 PM

1. Yes
2. I start from level 1 because most my Pokes have to have Speed EVs, i battle Magikarp til i finish and im usually around 7-10 then i usually have to do attack which i go to route 202 and fight Shinx

1) Yes, as far as I know. If you have berry resources, you could always raise the level first, then remove the EVs with berries and start EV-training then.

2) As soon as possible. Meaning as soon as it is hatched/caught.

I start at L1.
Train on L5o-ish Bibarel and L50-ish Staravia at Send-Off Spring.
Then you get 2 in 1.

But will my lvl one pokemon be able to defeat anything? Also where are the lowest level magikarp?

Pkmn Trainer Alex July 13th, 2007 7:07 PM

The best way to EV-train an underleveled Pokémon is to send it out first, then switch it out immediately into something that can actually win. Any Pokémon that faces off against the Pokémon for at least one turn gets the EVs, even if they didn't do anything.

So they get all the ev's they would have gotten?

Pkmn Trainer Alex July 13th, 2007 7:10 PM

Yes, both Pokémon (the one sent out first and the one that actually fights) will get the full EVs.

(I actually answered this earlier in a different thread. XD Might want to look at the couple other EV topics that were made earlier today.)

Sorry about that looks like I should've done a bit more research. =)
