Azonic July 20th, 2007 9:33 AM

um... are these EVs or stats?

AztecSunshine July 20th, 2007 9:43 AM

we can't rate a thing with out the moves they are half the pokemon

BTW her stats are kinda low did you ev train her? she looks weaker then my lv40 infaernape(sp?)

codymr14 July 20th, 2007 9:58 AM

i dont know whats with you guysrating my milotic with a 2 and a 0!!!!
she could take down a level 55 in one hit with a surf at level 37 a 3 im ok with but a 0

AztecSunshine July 20th, 2007 10:04 AM

i rated her for her sucky move set and do you mean a trainer in game pokemon? or some else poke?

and by sucky move set why the hell are all of her attacks are water? what if a grass or dragon poke came? you well be helpless with those moves add ice beam miror cot(sp?) hypnosis

He is completly right. Who cares if it is lvl 50. In wi-fi, the levels are set to 100. With real opponents, you won't last a second with that pathetic moveset. You must be playing some pretty sad opponents to win.

Anti July 20th, 2007 12:57 PM

Yeah, my moveset is a little weird but works fine. ANYTHING is better that that. That moveset is like using a gameshark to make a gyrados have 999 in all stats and then give it splash and tackle. That was a little harsh, but at least give it recover and/or ice beam. My odd but pretty decent moveset is attract, recover, ice beam and surf. It actually survives against and defeats some tanks. At least diversify this a little. Remember, annoying egg moves like dragonbreath and hypnosis are your freind

sims796 July 20th, 2007 1:01 PM

Attract isn't so good either, but anything is better than that moveset.

Only noobs-I'm sorry, I don't like that word, rookies, thats better-gloat about their pokemon's level.

Anti July 20th, 2007 1:14 PM

I may replace attract with DT or something. I don't have my toxic tm :-( so i have to stick with that. Back to the other one i think it could be fixed fast but it is BLEEDING to be fixed.

sims796 July 20th, 2007 1:17 PM

DT? Whats that stand for? Toxic works.

Azonic July 20th, 2007 1:33 PM

Double Team.

That moveset is the BEST Milotic moveset ever!

No, it sucks.

Lone--Wanderer July 20th, 2007 3:36 PM

That and Double Team is hax.

sanjay120 July 20th, 2007 7:59 PM

Needs more Hypnosis. And Bold. And actual EVs. *votes 0*

<3 SK July 20th, 2007 8:02 PM

Post EVs next time rather than stats.

Needs Bold, 252 HP 252 Def 6 SAtk or something similar, Rest / SLeep Talk / ice beam / Surf

sims796 July 20th, 2007 8:05 PM

Whoever gave him a three was being too generous.

Anti July 21st, 2007 5:18 AM

I think we all agree thatthis milotic is very bad.

codymr14 July 21st, 2007 5:22 AM

screw you guys when i win that tournament today at eb games then you wont be able to mock my milotic
(which could prolly kill most of your guys)

Anti July 21st, 2007 5:35 AM

Chill, man. It's the moveset that's messed up. Having multiple water attacks is pointless. I thought milotic was an annoyer or special sweeper. Giving it multiple water moves cripples its sweeping power. It can learn moves to inflict every status except for burn, so maybe use one of those moves. codymr14 may have a point that his milotic isn't THAT bad. My advice is to go to gamefaqs and read a moveset guide or ask for a better one here. If you want to use a different pokemon completely, kingdra can learn some similar moves and is good in both defenses (95 base stat in each attack and defense stat). That's my advice.

Azonic July 21st, 2007 6:20 AM

Here is a school play:

codymr14: Go Milotic!

opponent: Go Oddish!

codymr: use surf!

Oddish: YAY!!!

codymr: Hydropump

Oddish: YAY!!!

opponent: Sunnyday to Solarbeam!

codymr: Dodge

Milotic: *begins to dodge but suddenly realizes that Milotic didn't have EVs and was too slow.

Milotic is dead! Oddish lvl 1 is the winner!

See? It is pointless to have surf AND hydropump on the same moveset. It needs Hypnosis, and Milotic isn't the AOA type, it needs suppor moves.

That may be true but it's nice to be respectful and encourage them. >__>

Your Milotic has Surf and Ice Beam, which are 2 common attacks for it. So I'll give it a 3.

A sweeper Milotic would be useful.

Milotic @ Salac Berry
-Surf
-Hidden Power[Electric]
-Ice Beam
-Recover

That's a sweeper moveset.

-Rain Dance
-Recover
-Ice Beam
-Surf/Hydro Pump

-Ice Beam
-Sleep Talk
-Surf
-Rest

3 different movesets that would make Milotic a good sweeper. With the Salac Berry to give it the sweeper speed.

At best. I suggest that you re-breed your Milotic. Since it's a female with a modest nature, it's a good start. That will make it simpler to get the right nature. With the atatched Everstone. Also make sure to read the EV guide on this forum. It will be helpful.

sims796 July 21st, 2007 9:05 AM

Ah, when I saw him gloat about his Milotic, I got a bit fustrated. When you boast their levels, that just shows you're a rookie, and proud of it. Then he gets mad at the score he recieves, like we don't know what we're talking about. That was a bit annoying. Though I could have been nicer.

Still, giving him a three doesn't help him at all. Three means average, and that set/stats are below it. I don't know who did it, I don't wanna name names. But sometimes, brutal honesty is the way to go.

I didn't know I could see the votes. Still, I'm not at liberty to call names. His boasting is my only problem. If he wants help, fine, no prob, but face it-that Milotic sucks. It can be fixed, but only if he wants it to be. Better movesets been posted many times on this thread.

Thats what I mean. Who cares if it can kill a lvl 55. At wi-fi, all pokes are automatically set to lvl 100 or 50. So there is no type advantage. You will be playing against people who are at equal lvl, but their team is properly EV trained, and with great & diverse movesets. Beating a lvl 55 won't matter there.

And calm down. We're just trying to help, but you're shutting off every attempt.

He gave you a moveset, and explained why Surf & Hydro Pump is useless together. Since you wouldn't listen to others giving you movesets, an example was most neccesary.

Battle me 1 on 1 so you will shut up about your Milotic being super amazing own everything pawn you cause I'm using terrible moves.

codymr14 July 21st, 2007 9:40 AM

my friend AKA master beaver ggave me this move set except he said to have recover replace one of the moves i have
oh and if you want to battle my milotic it might be a week or 2 cuz thats when im gtting a laptop with wi- fi

<3 SK July 21st, 2007 9:41 AM

Good for you? He's obviously terrible, so just battle me so that you can see how bad this thing is.

Anti July 21st, 2007 9:42 AM

Okay, now I'm steamed. You can't go around saying you're the best with no proof to back it up. I'm not even a great trainer, but I'll admit that (just look at my team). You have to accept that your milotic is good. My old milotic had all water moves except for ice beam and I got swamped. It is a BAD milotic. Period. Cut and dry. As for your claim status moves suck, try sending out that peice of junk against a snorlax tank. Toxic, protect, return, protect, and just when you are about to kill it, REST. Now toxic has probably destroyed your milotic and even with recover (though you don't have that either) toxic will take away to much damage along with return. Believe me, more than my tank snorlax could take that thing out. A good team should have at least a couple of status inflicting moves. You're entitled to your own opinion, but bashing us for giving ours is rediculous. Go up against the strongest trainer on this forum (NOT ME! I suck!) and then we'll see who's talking. We were a little harsh but 2 wrongs don't make a right. Maybe we'd take you more seriously if you would chill out and not brag about a poor milotic. These people know what they're talking about so ask for help, DON'T say we know nothing just because we have different opinions. Instead of whining about our advice and bashing it try taking our advice. MY ADVICE-if you don't have anything nice to say don't say it att all because taking the high road is the smart thing to do. I'm willing to give you a second chance to be nice and not bash us. Your 1st impression on me isn't good and you only get one first impression. Now if you'd like to be more freindly I'd be more than happy to forgive you. Hope my critizism helps you a little.

ok one question . when did i say i was the best

<3 SK July 21st, 2007 9:44 AM

You're acting like your Milotic is the best thing since sliced bread. And it's obvious you have NO experience what-so-ever, so stop acting like you do.

Anti July 21st, 2007 9:45 AM

I don't think I said you said you were the best (that was a mouthful). Anyways, just be nice and respect our opinions rather than shoot them down, 'K?

Hmmm... even without EVs, those stats are slightly low. I've never been fond of a special sweeping Milotic, since she makes such a better dual wall (so much so, that she's one of the best counters to Dragon Dance Salamence, with Bold and maxed EVs in Defense), but even for a special sweeper, your moveset is screwed up.

First of all, the basic rule of thumb is to NEVER use two moves of the same attacking type. While there are loop holes in this (Draco Meteor paired with something like Dragon Claw), it doesn't work for Milotic. So bag Hydro Pump, and stick with Surf, since Hydro Pump sucks in general with its low accuracy.

Secondly, Dragon Pulse is slightly redundant...
the only thing Dragon Pulse can take out with ease is Dragons, and Ice Beam solves that problem completely (and perhaps a bit better). Only reason to add Dragon Pulse in there is if you really fear Kingdra.

As a special sweeper, she doesn't really need a recovery move, but it can help. So at least bag Hydro Pump for Recover. Or you can go with my favourite set, the dual wall:

Milotic @ Leftovers
Bold Nature
EVs: 84 HP, 252 Def, 12 Spd, 106 SAtk, 56 SDef
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Recover
- Hypnosis

Makes a fantastic annoyer, and with that Defense, she can easily take out (usually OHKO) someone like Garchomp, granted he hasn't beefed up with Swords Dance. And with her already great Special Defense, she can also take out Choice Specs Salamence; mine OHKOed SpecsMence when I faced one. Hypnosis can be iffy with its accuracy, but Milotic has the defense power to be able to miss a few times.

Anti July 21st, 2007 9:52 AM

What he's saying is you shot down our advice and said we knew nothing (it's in one of your posts), giving us the impression you thought it was perfect and our advice was crap (when in fact it's the exact opposite).

This is what I'm talking about. Which could probably kill us? Ludicrous. Screw us? We were just telling you the truth. Cockiness won't help you, neither will believing that moveset is good. Bleach is too nice for his own good. No, scratch that. I've seen the advice he gave. I can only assume that he is a terrific trainer. He was too nice for your own good.

I was like that too, thinking I was the best. I was even gonna give Leaf Storm & Energy Ball to Torterra. Man was I dumb.

is against the rules. I'm so tired of hearing you mouth us off. You asked for proof, Peguinpal6 gave you proof, and now you're mad at him. Go ride the marry-go-round at snoopyland (at cedar point) or start acting more mature and not flame our advice. You put this upon yourself. That second chance I was talking about-GONE. codymr14, I hope the number in your username isn't your age because if it is you should replace it with "2" to show your age. So it's settled, your new username is "codymr2." I have nothing more to yell-I mean say.

Well, either way, I'm glad to see cody is willing to change that Milotic. He is in the right direction. No offense taken.

codymr14 July 21st, 2007 10:41 AM

thanks oh and when i do get a new milotic going to be a bold nature . can someone help me EV train it or tell me where to go like a list for when its a level 2 milotic - to what ever

Anti July 21st, 2007 10:44 AM

FINALLY everyone is on the same page. Now that cody has a more open mind, we can get back to that milotic. Try:

[email protected]?
Bold Nature
EVs: 252 Defense, 126 SD, 126 SA/HP
~surf
~ice beam
~attract (my milotic is female!)
~recover

That's my ol' milotic (i didn't have toxic btw). That is actually a better set than you might think. There are better ones on this forum though but if you don't have toxic i recommend this.

Also, there's an EV training guide somewhere on PC for you to use. It's very infomative and helpful.

codymr14 July 21st, 2007 10:45 AM

if its a male what should replace attract

Anti July 21st, 2007 10:49 AM

Toxic is better regardless of the gender if you have it. Otherwise, confuse ray or hypnosis are, but I'd recommend CR since it is way more accurate. Hypnosis is better when it hitsso it's your call. My suggestion is to use something different than the standard to surprise people. Dragonbreath is great b/c of the haxparalyze factor.

codymr14 July 21st, 2007 10:52 AM

i have a bold feebas but it likes sour poffins so im not using that one

So. Force-feed him beauty. He doesn't need to like you. Afterwards, you can make him like you.

Recover always fails. Recover always fails. Recover fails, Recover fails, Recover always fails.

Attract is generally more useful on parattractafusion.
Mirror Coat over Recover. Attract can (I suppose) stay.

<3 SK July 21st, 2007 11:01 AM

Rest, Sleep Talk, Surf, Toxic / Ice Beam.

sims796 July 21st, 2007 11:09 AM

Attract is kinda useless. All that must be done to end the effect is switch out. Recover is excellent on Milotic, since she has the defense to make use of it.

Anti July 21st, 2007 11:12 AM

There are many useful and unique sets for Milotic. It's a matter of opinion. Recover saved me in the BF a lot so I prefer to use it.

codymr14 July 21st, 2007 11:13 AM

i have to wait a day for my berries grow then i will get my milotic then i will get back to you guys

LOL. That made my day. I'm writing that down.

Attract is useless, unless you have Wobb or a Mean Look/Blocker.

Hypnosis is always a good choice for an attacking pokemon

codymr14 July 22nd, 2007 6:07 AM

codymr14 July 23rd, 2007 8:06 AM

ok i got the bold milotic its level 3 i kinda killed a level 7 geodude and he levels twice but can someone help me and tell me where to train her

Anti July 23rd, 2007 9:34 AM

For speed EVs go to the east (right) of mauville city and all the pokemon except kecleon have speed EV values. Defense is things like golem (3) and sandslash (2). There are tables on the net that have all that stuff.

codymr14 July 23rd, 2007 10:22 AM

mauville ? im talking about in diamond

sims796 July 23rd, 2007 10:26 AM

Golbat give 2 EV in speed. Also, their is a trainer who has all Magikarp. With the Macho Brace, their 1 EV turns into 2 per Magikarp. Since he has 6, thats a total of 12 EVs. Provided you have Macho Brace.

Or better yet, just use the Power Anklet.

sims796 July 23rd, 2007 12:35 PM

I was just about to post a thread asking how much EV increase those Power items give over Mafho Brace. So how much?

I think it's some insane amount like x5. Coupled with PKRS, that Magikarp man could give you 60 Speed EVs.

sims796 July 23rd, 2007 12:41 PM

My word...so now I must play that god awful battle tower then.

Anti July 23rd, 2007 1:07 PM

Then I'd do that. I wish there was a power anklet in emerald...
Anyways good luck EV training.
