Tangrowth + Heatran

Probably leading with Metagross and Suicune, though I am thinking of replacing Suicune, with what?

And notice I replace Blissey with Cresselia, it stinks with Doubles. Please Rate My Team. Don't be shy, and feel free to criticize! Thanks!

Bump, can someone please post?

I like suicune's moveset a lot. Metagross looks cool. I don't know about 4th gen so i can't help much with those so that's all i can help with. Sorry on that. I am in the process of figuring 4th gen out right now.

Azonic July 21st, 2007 5:50 AM

Everyone says that 4th gen did major damage to Calm-Cune

c_dog July 21st, 2007 5:59 AM

Terrible. The reason your suicine won't work is because it doesn't have calm mind.

[email protected]
Bold
252hp/200def/58spdef
-calm mind<--raises both sp.att and sp.def. pretty useful if you ask me
-reflect/roar
-surf
-rest/roar

Whoever said Suicune gets ruined in 4th gen is wrong. It's still one of the best bulky waters and with reflect and calm mind it makes a good duo-wall too.

As for your metagross, it needs thunderpunch from 3rd gen. it should have thunderpunch, meteor mash, and hammer arm/explosion along with agility.

Your team's kind of a mess, no offense, but this should give you a good start.

Azonic July 21st, 2007 6:04 AM

My Suicune already has Calm Mind.

Why Thunderpunch though?

Hammer Arm doesn't cover a lot of ground.

MeteorMash+Thunderpunch+Hammer Arm gives it good all around type coverage. Thunderpunch in general hits more pokemon hard. More so than Zen Headbutt, which is a nice move and gets stab, but doesn't cover a whole lot of pokemon. You can actually use earthquake over Hammer Arm since Hammer arm decreases speed which kind of beats the purpose of agility.

You need a bold suicune with defense iv's. that's the best suicune. calm suicune is a waste since you're getting the sp.def from calm mind.

Azonic July 21st, 2007 6:29 AM

Umm... my Suicune is already bold!

Metagross, its already in the 4th generation though.

Earthslide is a good combo right? And Rockslide is great for doubles.

codymr14 July 21st, 2007 6:29 AM

you cant use most of these in certain tournaments the only thing that makes it good is the 3 legndaries

ah yes, apparently it is bold. my eyes must be messed up because i didn't see calm mind on it, and i saw its nature as calm. meh, it would help if you post the movesets with the pokemon together, and not seperate them so it's easier for other to see, just a suggestion. but there's no reason why suicune won't work in 4th gen. gotta make sure you have defense ev's though.

metagross doesn't need earthslide. meteor mash hits almost everything hard and earthquake, hammer arm, thunderpunch are all great options which give it good type coverage. metagross can sweep through entire teams that don't have the right counter, whether it be a good wall or garchomp.

Azonic July 21st, 2007 6:44 AM

I can't give Metagross T-punch since it is in the 4 Gen already.

c_dog July 21st, 2007 6:49 AM

get another or trade for one. if it doesn't get tpunch then it's completely walled by skarmory. tpunch can at least make it feel pain. it also hits bulky water hard. zen headbutt just doesn't compare. having tbolt is almost standard on metagross now.

Azonic July 21st, 2007 6:55 AM

I think I'll just swap in for Heatran, BTW I don't have time to EV train, I have a tournament this weekend

- Flamethrower
- Solarbeam/Flash Cannon
- Earth Power
- Dragon Pulse

Rock Polish and Agility are two different attacks.

Azonic July 21st, 2007 9:11 AM

OK, just the Tangrowth, with Sunnyday, I thought I should have 3 other Attack type moves, shouldn't I?
Cresselia should just Paralyze shuffle, so it should have Swagger, right?
Doesn't Dragon Pulse only cover one type?
Heat Wave over Flamethrower, since it attacks 2 opponents.

They have the same effect and serve the same purpose.

That would be helpful.

Swagger doesn't help often. The attack boost is horrid for you.
Doesn't Dragon Pulse only cover one type?
Yes. A type that will do major damage to Heteran. So it's best to ko them.
Heat Wave over Flamethrower, since it attacks 2 opponents.
Yes but I suggested Flamethrower due to the accuracy.

They have the same effect and serve the same purpose.

Yes, but I'm referring to why Rock Polish when Metagross can learn Agility?

Azonic July 24th, 2007 3:35 PM

Eh. No concern there, its going to have to learn one or the other.

Dragon Pulse is officially on Heatran.

I'm sticking with Heat Wave. 90% doesn't miss too often, and it is going to hit one or the other anyways, so I'm keeping it.

EDIT: So back to Suicune. Swampert, Milotic, and Gyarados were recommended to me for replacements by a friend. Should I or Shouldn't I

MegaDitto July 24th, 2007 3:56 PM

You don't have to delete your post and repost it, you know. x_x;

Swampert would make a good bulky alternative.

Azonic July 24th, 2007 4:48 PM

So is Swampert overall better than Suicune?

MegaDitto July 24th, 2007 7:00 PM

I didn't exactly said that. I just said Swampert would just make a good alternative.

-Curse
-Rest
-Earthquake
-Waterfall/Avalanche

Azonic July 25th, 2007 6:57 PM

OK, so I should use Suicune or Swampert?

BTW Sp. ATK EV training is so frustrating!!!

MegaDitto July 25th, 2007 7:57 PM

I would use Suicune. It has it's benefits.

Azonic July 27th, 2007 8:19 PM

Sorry, I haven't been on, I am in the process of out-of-state moving.

I'll stick with Suicune,

Shaymin or Tangrowth?

MegaDitto July 27th, 2007 8:27 PM

Tangrowth due to a extended movepool.
