poke balls

is it strangew at all but do you think regular poke balls are better then ultra cause I have caught legends with them.

Dr.Stiles July 23rd, 2007 10:23 AM

you have caught legends with a regulaur poke ball WTF!!!!!!

maybe you are right i on a alot of the pokes i have caught they just didnt want to stay in the pokeball no matter how many i threw at them so then i threw a reguluar pokeball and i have cuaght a whole bunch of pokes like that its wierd

latioslegends July 23rd, 2007 10:32 AM

I know it is weird you spend 1200 for nothing.

Virtual Headache July 23rd, 2007 10:51 AM

It's just luck.
The chance of cathing legendaries with regular Pokéballs is lower, but that doesn't mean there is no chance at all.

latioslegends July 23rd, 2007 10:55 AM

I guess it can be luck I throw like a 100 ultra balls nothing happens but throw a regular ball caught weird how that works.

linkinpark187 July 23rd, 2007 11:00 AM

yeah, i know what thats like. some days i wonder the same thing. lol

wolfie1177 July 23rd, 2007 11:12 AM

i have had similar experiences. against groudon in ruby, i was down to only a pokeball and then i caught him.

also, has anyone ever confirmed that saying "gotcha" into the mic makes your catch rate higher? i saw that on cheatplanet once

latioslegends July 23rd, 2007 11:15 AM

Gotcha makes catxh rates higher?

Dr.Stiles July 23rd, 2007 11:15 AM

yah i think if you do say gotcha in the mic helps i have caught a whole bunch of pokes that way

latioslegends July 23rd, 2007 11:19 AM

lol never knew that saying that would do that.

Dr.Stiles July 23rd, 2007 11:21 AM

yah but do it in private try to avoid doing it in public lol people look at me wird all the time

Pocket Monster Researcher Archer July 23rd, 2007 11:26 AM

yeah but if you caught a ledgend with a pokeball, people might think they are hacked.

linkinpark187 July 23rd, 2007 11:46 AM

how so? please explain, because i don't see how. maybe if caught with a Master Balls, but not a Pokéball.

ultima2096 July 23rd, 2007 11:48 AM

there is absolutely nothing to support a claim like that. you can catch a legend in any ball. i have actually caught 3 or 4 in a pokeball, 1 in a great ball, and the rest in ultras

latioslegends July 23rd, 2007 12:06 PM

I don't know it was just luck I only ussually use great ball or poke balls they seem to work quite good.

Lone--Wanderer July 23rd, 2007 3:34 PM

Dusk Balls are best at night, though. They catch everything in, like, one ball.

Ho-oh arabia July 23rd, 2007 7:07 PM

My history goes back to gold when i captured ho-oh with a great ball at full HP, lugia with a pokeball, kyogre with a pokeball, rayquaza with a great ball, dialga with a great ball, and giratina witha pokeball. No ultra balls.

Deathmage129 July 23rd, 2007 11:08 PM

I've never had the patience needed to try and catch one in a pokeball; normally I just end up tossing Timers, Dusk or Ultra Balls. Kudos to those of you that do have the patience to catch them with the other balls.

sinnohdexdone July 24th, 2007 1:16 AM

i remember those days. in colloseum no more buying dumb old ultra balls but just buying 100 pokeballs. i caught everything with pokeballs even the trio dogs

Huh, I didn't know that, I thought using the touch screen helped, I guess this is like pressing A in the 3rd gen.

It doesn't help, those little things such as saying "Gotcha" or tapping the center don't increase the catch rate at all.

i dont no how u did dat. but holding down a or b has always helped me.

Bishopk July 24th, 2007 9:54 AM

For me, it seemed like that if its HP was below a certain point, the effectiveness of an ultra ball was lowered... Like if I had my Sneasel use False Swipe, it would be easier in most cases to catch it with a pokeball than a great ball.
