If you want sweepers, I strongly suggest that you use a pokémon like Tyranitar, Metagross, Dragonite, Electivire (trust me, this one is a juggernaut when it comes to battling), and so on. The move sets and items are all your say because I'm bad at suggesting move sets before people start yelling at me :<.
Anyways, just wait for someone to post a possible move set |
Ok I realized I have a huge weakness to Swampert. Since I am also in need of a Physical Wall, Im thinking of Tanglgrowth(How the hell do you spell that) or Leafeon. Please post movesets for em ^_^;
|
Please post T.T Im also trying to balance my team by using Tangrowth instead of Leafeon..that why I have 3 pokes who use Sp atts and 3 who use physical attacks.

yea, i know that swampert rapes my team. Thats why im getting a tangrowth or a leafeon as a phsyical wall.
|
Leafeon has higher base defenses than Tangrowth, so Leafeon would be a better way to go...
|
Thing is, Leafeon cant inflict status conditions and he has piss-poor HP..Im going with tangrowth now XD
|
Suggestions..anyone..?....

No way! HP is just as important as Defense in being a good physical wall. If only Defense mattered, then you could say that Shuckle is the best physical wall in the world (which is clearly NOT true). Tangrowth is a much better wall than Leafeon. Anyways, why on earth are you turning your Swampert into a physical attacker? Swampert has one job and that is being a Bulky Water. Relaxed/Impish with near max Defense Evs is the way to go. Brick Break is inferior to Cross Chop. 100 Power and a high critical hit chance with 80% accuracy is way better than having 100% accuracy. There's no real point in using Fire Punch. Grass types are handled by Ice Punch and Steel types by Cross Chop. The only Bug type in OU that's not weak to Ice or Electric is Heracross, who won't be OHKOed with Fire Punch. Besides, Electivire can already defeat Heracross with 2 Thunderpunches anyways. Since you have a Lonely nature, use Thunderbolt. Tbolt will do more damage than TPunch to Pokemon like Skarmory and Weezing, who are heavily invested in Defense EVs but usually have none in Sp Defense. Expert Belt/Life Orb are way better items than Focus Sash. Electivire has no real use for the Sash. It has no stat-boosting move to set up while the opponent hits you, and doesn't have Counter, Reversal, Endeavor, or Flail so there's no point in having Electivire take a hit. For Salamence, Fire Blast is better than Thunder Fang (and Fire Fang). Despite your Adamant Nature, Salamence's Sp. Attack is still high. And the only time you'll be using Fire Blast is against physical walls like Skarmory, Weezing, and Forretress who I've mentioned invest heavily in Defense and have almost none in Special Defense. Give it a Leftovers. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* |

Swampert clearly needs Curse. As for Togekiss vs. Skarmory, Aura Sphere is already a good enought counter, even better with the Hustle ability, of course, not as popular as Para-Flincher. Electivire doesn't need Fire Punch. |
yay! suggestions finally! XD As for my electivire, I gave it focus sash because of its piss-poor defense due to its lonely nature..It cannot survive Garchomps. While I was getting my held items, the guy at Route 221 gave me focus sash instead of expert belt first. My first wi-fi battle tower match: Garchomp used EQ! Electivire hung on using focus sash! Electivire used ice punch! Garchomp fainted.
I shall re-breed for cross chop i guess :/ 25% for a female yay... Thunder Fang saved my arse plenty of times, but ur right..Ppl will be immediately sending out fortresses and skars as soon as I bring out mence =.=; Btw..I would much appreciate a tangrowth moveset/EVs/held items suggestion :D..same with togekiss |
My Tangrowth
[email protected] Rock Trait: Chlorophyll Nature: Modest EVs: 252 SP. ATK/ 252 SP. DEF/4 SPEED or HP Solarbeam Sunnyday Growth/Amnesia Focusblast |
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Ick, that's a horrible Tangrowth set! Growth won't do crap. Any move that boosts a single stat only one stage is just a big waste of time. Amnesia won't help. Tangrowth's Sp. Defense sinve it's already so low anyways. Plus, like I said in another thread, you almost never want to use pure defense boosters like Iron Defense or Amnesia. There's no point to it. If you want a REAL Tangrowth set, try these: Tangrowth @Leftovers EVs: 252 HP / 6 Atk / 252 Def Impish Nature -Power Whip -Leech Seed -Sleep Powder -Knock Off One of the most recommended Tangrowth sets. This guy can survive so many physical hits, even supereffective ones. Plus, it's got an array of annoying support moves to help you out. Leech Seed and Sleep Powder are very annoying together and with Knock Off, you can ruin so many Pokemon that rely on their item. Tangrowth @Leftovers EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 6 Spd Adamant Nature -Power Whip -Earthquake -Rock Slide -Swords Dance Tangrowth has a nice physical movepool and can be a formidable sweeper. Power Whip is your key attack of course. Earthquake and Rock Slide provide coverage against Pokemon that are resistant to Grass - Flying, Fire, and Steel types. Tangrowth @Heat Rock/Lum Berry EVs: 6 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd Modest Nature Ability: Chlorophyll -Solarbeam -Hidden Power [Fire] -Sunny Day -Sleep Powder This revolves around Tangrowth's Chlorophyll ability. It just like any other Sunny Day sets you may have seen. HP Fire gets a boost in the Sun and helps against Steel and enemy Grass types. Sleep Powder knocks out anything else that tries to counter you. Togekiss @Leftovers EVs: 252 HP / 172 SAtk / 84 SDef Modest Nature Ability: Serene Grace -Air Slash -Thunder Wave -Aura Sphere -Wish/Roost Paraflinch Togekiss is very annoying. It can drive you mad by paralyzing your Pokemon, flinching them 60% of the time with a Serene Grace boosted Air Slash, and simply recovering off any damage when it gets hit. Togekiss @Leftovers EVs: 252 HP / 228 Def / 28 SDef Calm Nature Ability: Serene Grace -Air Slash -Wish/Roost -Nasty Plot -Baton Pass Togekiss is one of those few Pokemon that learns both Nasty Plot and Baton Pass. The special sweepers on your team will love you when you pass them a doubled Sp. Attack boost. Togekiss @Choice Specs/Choice Scarf EVs: 6 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd Modest Nature Ability: Serene Grace -Tri-Attack -Air Slash -Aura Sphere -Grass Knot Like any Pokemon with good Sp. Attack and a diverse special movepool, Togekiss works great as a Choice sweeper. This gives Togekiss an oppurtunity to use Tri-Attack and Grass Knot helps against hefty opponents that can be harder to take down, like Rhyperior or Milotic. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* |
*bows* thx for those great movesets o.o *starts re-breeding* But will people let me use 2 leftovers?:O Im also wondering if I should try for HP ice on tangrowth..most Physical sweepers are dragons so power whip would be useless when I get time to attack.
