Should be Jolly on Infernape. Also, what Nature is Gyarados. Edit:Bold for Jirachi.

MegaDitto July 27th, 2007 4:41 AM

Jirachi's nature should be Jolly or Adamant. But considering that it's Jirachi.... Impish is an alright nature. A good EV spread would be "252 Attack / 252 Speed / 4 HP"

But maybe it could be 252 Attack/200 Speed/56 Defense....

You have a lot of Ice in your team. Would you consider Waterfall for Gyarados?

Bold for Jirachi please. if you don't wan't to rebreed, i guess impish would be okay. but i would rebreed for a Bold Nature. No, Jolly or adamant, that's crazy 0.0

You do realize that Zen Headbutt and U Turn are Phyiscal attacks? Along with this being the 4th Generation of pokemon? Or did you look at it's moveset? It's not crazy. It's rather standard.

Yes i do, and besides if i didn't then i could always look it up on Serebii. also, don't tell me that Jolly/Adamant is standard. Becuase i know it's not.

You are well aware that Bold is "-Attack +Def"?

The nature you suggested with the same moveset?

Yes, i already know that as well. anyways, i'll go look up Jirachi's base Stats on serebii. Edit:100 base Attack.

You also realize that you can't breed for Jirachi, right? Depending on how you obtain it, the nature is purely based on luck. And since Jirachi has the same base stats all around (100 in each), it's not impossible to make Jirachi into a physical attacker.

Well yeah, but that's why Resetting's there. Edit: go read up on Serebii's 3rd gen Moveset thingie.

Ummm... Jirachi isn't available in-game, so it's a bit more difficult than that. These days, one of the only ways to get him is in a trade, and I know from experience that a Bold one is rather hard to come by.

Oh, by the way, MKDS_PoKE, I think you have too many physical attackers on your team. Once Gengar is shot down, and maybe Infernape, Skarmory is asking to dominate this team.

Yeah, i guess. so, Adamant/Jolly it is. but i personally think he makes better a Wall then rather Physical Attacker.

McIceGar. Use Mullet's EV spread (check the sticky Compiled Guides)

My special sweeper. Hidden power ice gengar with good IV's took me SO long to get.

Stop it with 252/252/4 spread. You have no idea how to use it. More HP and maybe some in Defenses. You don't need max Attack if you're using Swords Dance by the way.

SD'ing Chompy

Blissey (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 148hp/252def/4spd/104spatk
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Thunder Wave
- Aromathreapy / Heal Bell
- Seismic Toss
- Softboiled

Now, the place where you really need to use the 252/252/4, well, you don't use it. I only need to say one word: consistency. You need it BAD. 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef w/ the set above place. That is standard.

Standard set for bliss. <---No way!

Jirachi (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Scerene Grace
EVs: the standard spread on this moveset <---I doubt you even know the standard spread. =/ Besides, this isn't a good moveset.
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Wish
- Water Pulse / Thunderbolt
- Calm Mind
- Psychic

Wish support for my team

Gyarados (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Intimdate
EVs: Bulky Spread
Nature
- Ice Fang
- Earthquake
- Taunt
- Dragon Dance

BUlky gyara, kills lotta stuff after DD

Infernape (M) @ Choice Band
Triat: Blaze
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 6 HP
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Blaze Kick / Fire Punch / Flame Wheel
- Stone Edge
- Close Combat
- Thunderpunch

CBing Infernape is much better.

SDer, I decided edge because of bulky gyarados. Flare blitz and close combat get stab.

.....Bad bad bad. Never play NetBattle.

Pocket Monster Researcher Archer July 27th, 2007 6:47 AM

your garchomp is the same as mine. thats good. it needs either a choice band or muscle band to raise its spartan attack stat. you need either a bold, timid or modest nature to make jirachi a more effective pokemon.

here is mine,

nature- bold
item- leftovers
MOVES:
wish
flash cannon for a STAB
thunderbolt
phychic for a STAB

hope that helps, my jirachi is a sp sweeper though but if you like the set.

It's supposed to be like that. Considering the ammount of physical tanks now, the special attackers have gone down.

Also to those who say jriachi's nature is bad, it's supposed to be impish. It's noted as a supporter with good defense as a tank... And can take hits and send them. U-Turn is for seeing if certain things are going to come at out. Zen Headbutt is their for STAB and Scerene Grace making pokemon flinch ALOT.

Infernape is better jolly to outspeed some things.

@Lord Mike

LMAO. What are you think? That was standard garchomp set. It outspeeds and owns the competition. McIceGar is now crap because of the change. No one uses it anymore. It was only good in the Adv gen. Lol you seem to be stuck in adv. This is 4th Generation right now. That is the new standard ev spread for bliss. That was also the new standard jirachi. It is a tank, not an attacker. Infernape is CB eh? Atleast you reccomended something right. BUT - most people prefer the one I'm using. Also, i'm planning on replacing it with CBtar. Now please, DO YOUR 4TH GEN BATTLING RESEARCH BEFORE CRITISIZING MY TEAM!

Towlie July 27th, 2007 12:01 PM

Consider Specs over Life orb for Gengar. Even if you run Hypnosis, your opponent is going to switch to a Gar counter, so you can switch out too.

Garchomp wants a Focus Sash, or else Weavile will kill it. Focus Sash also gives you a free Swords Dance vs other stuff with Ice Beam. You could also give Life Orb a shot on Garchomp. Lefties isn't too good on it though.

Bliss is pretty standard. Thunder Wave if you're running Hypnosis on Gar.

Jirachi is fine.

I like Waterfall over Ice Fang for STAB on Gyra, but it's your call.

Infernape you might wanna make into a mixed sweeper since gengar is your only special attacker really. And Gengar is pretty fragile.

Flamethrower/Nasty Plot/Grass Knot/Close Combat

Finally, a decent suggestion. Thank you :D

Towlie July 27th, 2007 12:06 PM

Yea, I figured someone needed to make some decent suggestions, since most of this thread is about Jirachi's nature.
xD

peabobo's sexy legs July 27th, 2007 12:29 PM

Uh.. why have a Pokemon with such a vulnerable type combo as Gyara without a Water type move? =/
