Ads By Google
I noticed on big sites like ppn they got ads by google. how could i get those?
*takes Kairi's temperature* =X
Anyway... unless you really need the money, I wouldn't suggest using those. o.o Sometimes they can start to look really annoying and they'll tick your viewers off. @[email protected]; |
Note that you'll need quite a few unique visits in order to get enough click-throughs to generate any substancial amount of money. Google ads are pay-per-click, and each click can range vastly in its value.
HellishHades and Lightning are pretty much right, you need a TON of hits to make the Banners worth it, and many of the clicks anymore are only worth .5-.10 cents thanks to some price realigment. Some webmasters are...well I wouldn't call it abuseing them, but having to many on there pages and it does really get annoying.
Google ads just ain't worth it. Big, annoying, and ugly. They can really kill a site.
At my forums (which I will not name because I don't want to shamelessly plug them) the Google Ads are conviently the same topic as my forums. All Nintendo stuff, I had no control over that. It just somehow matched my forums' topic.
Yeah, I believe the ads collaborate with Google's search/ranking technology to best find ads that suit the topic of your site. ^_^;
Of course if its scans find cursing of any kind, they’ll make you pull them I believe.
yeah. like my site would have cursing... thats laughable

To get google adds you need to live up to there standards. Because google just doesn't hand those adds out. You need to acutally have no broken links etc. I wouldn't suggest them. I have NO adds on my site because i'm not striving for money.
And if you feel the need to put ads, put them at the bottom of the page with a link saying "Help pay for the site by clicking the banner" or something. Then they ain't in the way, but users can still help out.
All of y'all think I am a money hungry person, and well I am but my ads on my site is making me no extra money, I only make 20 dollars a month of google, 20 off of popup traffic and like 20 off of clixgalore. And all if it goes into savings for hosting. I have lots saved up for hosting for the rest of my life!!! HAHAHAH lol but google is good if u get enough hits, and its hard to get excepted, i suggest no populars good layout atleast 200 unique farly hard, and I think pokemon things not seen should need a little more work until it can get google.
I'm just trying to break even.
i should be getting my 100 dollar check from goole in a few months, "you need to get 100 balance until u get a check"
Still seems like a waste to me...
I know I turn away from a site if it has too many ads. |
Yeah i don't like PPN because of that very reason. I have told him he should take the adds off.. but he doesn't listen to me. I once had adds but i took them off because users said to get rid of them.
It's okay I guess to have one or two...
But when they're everywhere, it just isn't fun anymore. |
I don’t mind a few, I understand bandwidth is expensive as long as there’s content I’m there for.
(I can't believe I have something to add in Webmaster's) >> |
I was annoyed with Google ads, I tried to sign up but they wouldn't let me because I have a subdomain o_O
yeah well they arn't going to accept your site unless you are serious webmaster and if you don't have a domain they won't accept you
I wanted to sign up too, only that the age restriction stopped me O_O;;
So sub-domains aren't allowed too...sad... |
well its just a way to cut down affiliates that would just be wasting their time being most people with subs don't get enough hits they require anyway.
You can run a perfectly good site off of a subdomain...
Some people just don't have the money to get a domain. x.x; |
