My changes/suggestions in bold, a couple of the pokemon I am not familiar with so they are left blank (or somewhat changed if it's obvious eg Tangrowth)

Eos Aduro July 29th, 2007 8:32 AM

I dont see whats wrong with Tyranitars current moveset. I lik it a lot. And I think Tangrowth needs a attacking move, maybe Ancient Power instead of Poison Powder?

c_dog July 29th, 2007 8:37 AM

i thought you like jolteon? what's wrong with having it on the team? joleton's one of the better special sweepers and should be used if it's your favorite pokemon. i have one and it always does well for my team when i use it.

[email protected]
volt absorb
timid
252speed 252spatt 6hp
-substitute
-tbolt
-baton pass
-shadowball/agility/hp ice

give that a try. it's good.

MegaDitto July 29th, 2007 8:43 AM

If Tyranitar is your opening pokemon then try this.

Tyranitar @ Focus Sash/Leftovers

-Stone Edge
-Crunch
-Earthquake/Rock Polish
-Taunt

Taunt to block anything like Stealth Rockers, along with Rock Polish for a better speed boost than Dragon Dance.

Except Dragon Dance also raises Attack. :x

Espeon @ Leftovers/Lum Berry

EV's 212 HP/180 SP DEF/116 SPD

Ampharos @ Leftovers
Calm/Modest - Static
-Thunder Wave
-Reflect
-Thunder Bolt
-Focus Blast
EV's 252 HP/144 SP DEF/112 SP ATK

Tyranitar @ Chople Berry
Adamant - Sandstream

EV's 252 Attack, 252 HP, 6 Defense

Metagross @ Shuca Berry/Leftovers

Tangrowth

-Earthquake/Brick Break/Rockslide
-Energy Ball
-Substitute
EV's 252 HP, 176 Defense, 82 Spatk

And help would be appreciated. I havent done anything yet for this team, so any changes will be appreciated.

aggron sucks. plus, you already have enough physical tanks.

XD why no wailord? with choice scarf, it's actually pretty good.

Wailord @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Water Veil
Hasty Nature
252 SPD/192 SP ATK/64 ATK
-Surf
-Ice Beam
-Earthquake
-Selfdestruct

you really need something speedy on your team to use ice beam, surf, and earthquake. ice beam will take care of dragons, surf will take care of rock/ground/fire types, and earthquake is specifically for speedy electric types. finally, self destruct is for sacrificing wailord if perhaps you're having trouble with a blissey or some other annoying poke.

Eos Aduro July 29th, 2007 10:08 AM

Aggron's one of my walls. I have Tangrowth and Aggron as Walls, Ampharos and Espeon as Special Sweepers, and Metagross and Tyranitar as sweepers. Im keeping my current pokemon. And I like Jolteon, but I kind of screwed myself over with him a while back. Im restarting my Diamondgame, and moving my Pokemon back into the new game, fully EV trained. And I still like Tyranitars moveset. Plus, I have no Pokemion that know Dragon Dance... Or else I would use it. Iron Head, Earthquake, Stone Edge, Crunch maybe? And if I cant happen to get a Beldum or Tangela swarm, Im going to have Aerodactyl as a sweeper and relicanth as a wall for back up.

And for my style, so far the movesets I'd like to use are (only the changed ones)

Tyranitar
Iron Head
Earthquake
Stone Edge
Crunch

Metagross
Meteor Mash
Earthquake
Agility
Zen Headbutt

Tangrowth
Sleep Powder
Ancient Power
Substitute
Sunny Day

I really like these sets, plus my other ones (I adore Ampharos's, its perfect)

Espeon
Modest - Synchronize
Calm Mind
Psychic
Shadow Ball
Grass Knot
EV's 252 Spatk, 252 Speed, 6 Spdef

Espeon has no time for Calm Mind sweeping. If you want a special sweeper, use the Choice Specs set. If you want a Calm Minder, make it a Baton Passer.

Ampharos
Quiet - Static
Signal Beam
Thunder Bolt
Substitute
Focus Punch

EV's 148 HP / 184 Atk / 176 SAtk

No, this set is NOT perfect.

Power Gem is useless. It only has 70 power, and if it's supereffective, it has 140. A STABed Thunderbolt already has 142 power, so it's still stronger even if it's not supereffective against Fire, Bug and Ice types.

The only real reason to use Ampharos is because of its ability to learn Focus Punch. With out it, Blissey can come in any day of the week and wall you to no end.

Tyranitar
Adamant - Sandstream
Crunch
Stone Edge

Earthquake
Ice Fang
EV's 252 Attack, 252 HP, 6 Defense

There is a LOT of things wrong with this set.

Brick Break has no use on Tyranitar. Earthquake is stronger and hits Rock and Steel types, Stone Edge is stronger and hits Ice types. Tyranitar also gets STAB on Rock moves, so a STABed Stone Edge will do the same damage as a supereffective Brick Break.

Iron Head is also useless. Again, Rock types are covered by Earthquake, which is stronger. Ice types are covered by Stone Edge, which is also stronger. There is nothing else that Iron Head is supereffective against.

Metagross
Adamant - Clear Body
Meteor Mash
Earthquake
Explosion
Aglilty
EV's 148 HP / 252 Atk / 110 Spd

If you don't have Earthquake, Steel types will laugh in your face.

Metagross needs at least 203 Speed to outrun Choice Scarf Heracross after one Agility.

Put the rest into HP, not Defense. Metagross's HP is lower than its Defense anyways.

Tangrowth
Lax - Chlorophyll
Sleep Powder
Poison Powder
Sunny Day
Substitute
EV's 252 HP, 176 Defense, 82 Spatk

What?!?
You don't even have an attacking move. Why waste Tangrowth's 100 Atk or 110 Sp. Atk? This Tangrowth can't do anything and the moveset is just a mess. lol Poison Powder.

No Pokemon should EVER use Poison Powder. It's not even that accurate and all it does is inflict Poison. Oh no, not Poison! It's not even Toxic Poison. Regular Poison is one of the worst status effects out there (next to Confusion) since it doesn't prevent you from attacking (like Sleep or Freeze) and doesn't lower any stats (like Burn or Paralysis). Plus just about every team has a Pokemon immune to Poison.

Aggron
Impish - Rock Head
Iron Defense
Protect
Double Edge
Iron Head
EV's 252 Defense, 126 HP, 126 Attack

Like Metagross, Steel types laugh at this set. Aggron is no where near as good of a wall as you think.

4x Ground and Fighting weakness (the two most common physical attacks of all time) = Bad Wall. You can use it (not recommended since it's only UU), but at least fix up that terrible set.

Espeon @Leftovers
EVs: 196 HP / 122 SDef / 192 Spd
Timid Nature
-Psychic
-Calm Mind
-Substitute
-Baton Pass

Baton Passing Espeon hasn't changed a bit since Advance. Its goal is the same: pass special boosts and Subs to the teammates.

Espeon @Choice Specs
EVs: 6 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
-Psychic
-Shadow Ball
-Grass Knot
-Hidden Power [Fighting/Fire]

Now with Choice Specs, Espeon can go all out with its awesome Sp. Attack. Shadow Ball hits enemy Psychics, HP Fire for Steel/Psychics like Bronzong or Metagross, HP Fighting for Steels/Darks/Blissey, and Grass Knot to hit foes like Rhyperior or Swampert.

Tangrowth @Leftovers
EVs: 252 HP / 6 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
-Power Whip
-Leech Seed
-Sleep Powder
-Knock Off

One of the most recommended Tangrowth sets. This guy can survive so many physical hits, even supereffective ones. Plus, it's got an array of annoying support moves to help you out. Leech Seed and Sleep Powder are very annoying together and with Knock Off, you can ruin so many Pokemon that rely on their item.

Tangrowth @Leftovers
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 6 Spd
Adamant Nature
-Power Whip
-Earthquake
-Rock Slide
-Swords Dance

Tangrowth has a nice physical movepool and can be a formidable sweeper. Power Whip is your key attack of course. Earthquake and Rock Slide provide coverage against Pokemon that are resistant to Grass - Flying, Fire, and Steel types.

Tangrowth @Heat Rock/Lum Berry
EVs: 6 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature
Ability: Chlorophyll
-Solarbeam
-Hidden Power [Fire]
-Sunny Day
-Sleep Powder

This revolves around Tangrowth's Chlorophyll ability. It just like any other Sunny Day sets you may have seen. HP Fire gets a boost in the Sun and helps against Steel and enemy Grass types. Sleep Powder knocks out anything else that tries to counter you.

Aggron @Choice Band
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 6 Def
Adamant Nature
-Stone Edge
-Earthquake/Focus Punch
-Iron Head
-Avalanche

Aggron is a great UU sweeper that can still wall a lot of things. Stone Edge and Earthquake cover the majority of opponents. Focus Punch can be used over it if you happen to be good at prediction. Iron Head for a second STAB and Avalanche to hit Ground types.

Aggron @Leftovers
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 6 Def
Impish Nature
-Stone Edge/Rock Slide
-Focus Punch
-Substitute
-Thunder Wave

Paralyze your opponents with T-Wave and set up a Sub (you can also do it the other way around). Your opponent's Speed will be hampered and you can attack

Aggron @Leftovers/Focus Sash
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 6 Def
Brave/Relaxed Nature
-Metal Burst
-Taunt/Protect
-Stone Edge
-Earthquake/Focus Punch

Aggron is one of only two Pokemon to learn Metal Burst (the other being Bastiodon). Use Protect to scout for your opponent's moves or Taunt to force them to use only offensive attacks. Then use Metal Burst to retaliate.

Eos Aduro July 29th, 2007 11:16 AM

Im thinking of switching Relicanth in instead of Aggron. Maybe Relicanth would have say...

Relicanth
Impish - Rock Head
Yawn
Rest
Head Smash
Dive

aragornbird July 29th, 2007 11:24 AM

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Don't use Rest without Sleep Talk. You can't afford to lose two turns sleeping.

Dive just sucks. Never use it. During the turn you Dive underwater, all your opponent will have to do is switch to something that resists Water. Plus, Surf's power is doubled while you're underwater, and that's definitely not a good thing.

Relicanth @Choice Band
Adamant Nature
Ability: Rock Head
-Head Smash
-Waterfall/Aqua Tail
-Earthquake
-Double-Edge

Relicanth @Leftovers
Adamant Nature
Ability: Rock Head
-Head Smash
-Waterfall/Aqua Tail
-Rest
-Sleep Talk

Eos Aduro July 29th, 2007 6:49 PM

Ok, I've given up on Tangrowth. (I dont have wireless, not waiting for a swarm). Whats a good Pokemon I could use to replace it. I have Aerodactyl on my list, as well as Gallade and Sharpedo. But I need a good wall, so i was thinking maybe Claydol or Kecleon. Say any ideas for good pokemon I could use.

aragornbird July 29th, 2007 6:51 PM

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Don't replace Tangrowth. It's just too good.

What you should really replace are Espeon and Ampharos. They don't do much for the team and there are much better special sweepers out there.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Azonic July 29th, 2007 6:56 PM

Yikes. Whats up with Tangrowth, Sleep Powder AND Poison Powder?

I would still stick with Tangrowth, seeing as you need a better Water-counter than Ampharos, and a Ground type can sweep through your team. I am pretty fond on Tangrowth. but the moveset sucks.

[email protected] Rock
Trait: Chlorophyll
Nature: Modest/Timid
EVs: 252 SP. DEF/252 SP. ATK/ 4 SPEED

Sunny Day
Solarbeam
Growth/Amnesia
Focus Blast

I use Growth/Amnesia now, sudden change. With Chlorophyll and Sunny day, it should definitely be a Sweeper instead of support

Eos Aduro July 29th, 2007 6:58 PM

Uuuuh, ok i guess. Ampharos is one of my favorties though. I could go for a Gardevoir. Get it to learn Destiny Bond, maybe Will "O" Wisp. Breed with Wobbuffet, breed again with Dusclops... And I could go for a Yanmega too. Any more ideas for special sweepers, right now my team is. Oh, and Im probably going to go with Derfense instead of special defense. I dont think its really a special wall.

Tyranitar
Metagross
Tangrowth
Relicanth
...
...

aragornbird July 29th, 2007 7:00 PM

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Penguinpal, I've told you in this post to stop using that Tangrowth set. It's horrible.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Azonic July 29th, 2007 7:05 PM

OK, OK, HP is so damn annoying to get.

OK you need a pure wall. Cresselia, Uxie, and Registeel are my favorites.

Probopass, Dusknoir, Bastiodon, and Bronzong work well too.

Rhyperior has Physical Tank stats and an awesome ability, I've loved it ever since I hated Torkoal, which was just today

Eos Aduro July 29th, 2007 7:09 PM

I dont use legendaries, and I couldnt stand having that moustche on my team. And if Tangrowth is now a special sweeper for some reason, I need to dispose of him, get a wall, and two new special sweepers. I need ideas for them. Maybe Glaceon and Gardevoir? And a wall... Bronzong could work...

Is Bronzong with
Hypnosis
Dream Eater
Iron Defense
Rock Slide

Good enough? I can only have one EQ, and Im saving it for Metagross.

Azonic July 29th, 2007 7:10 PM

I hate Dream Eater, the opponent can just easily switch out.

Waffle-San July 29th, 2007 7:26 PM

I don't see anything wrong with Espeon as a Sp. Sweeper. If your looking for Sp. sweepers, try Porygon-Z or Magmortar.

Eos Aduro July 29th, 2007 7:26 PM

Ok, so i've rethought my team. If I dont get a Tangela Swarm this week, Im going to switch Cacturne in.

Relicanth
Metagross
Tyranitar
Bronzong
Gardevoir
Cacturne/Tangrowth

If anyone sees anything horribly wrong with this, go ahead and say so. And I need a nature for Cacturne. Its base attack and special attack are the same, as well as special defense and defense. So i was thinking like, a Brave nature? Or even like, Docile or Quirky. I cant decide what to increase and what to decrease...

Azonic July 29th, 2007 7:39 PM

I prefer Probopass(my head is still spinning because it is a special attacker) over Bronzong. Neither of them can attack well but Probo has so much better defenses.

Psychic types I hate, they aren't diverse in movepool. You need a good fire type. Torkoal is pretty nice with Gyro Ball.

Eos Aduro July 29th, 2007 7:42 PM

hmm, well I dont really like Fire Types myself. I dunno really...

Tyranitar
Metagross
Gardevoir
Yanmega
Cacturne/Tangrowth
Relicanth

Azonic July 29th, 2007 7:46 PM

I don't either, I like penguin types. But I still keep My Heatran and Torkoal where they belong. Heatran/Tangrowth can handle a lot, I was told. And another Magmortar discussion pops up.

Eos Aduro July 30th, 2007 8:18 AM

I've been looking, and I really want a Hitmonlee for my team. So I have right now

Hitmonlee
Carefull - Limber
Blaze Kick
Hi Jump Kick
Substitute
Focus Punch

Gardevoir
Modest - Synchronize
Psychic
Shadow Ball
Energy Ball
Calm Mind

Tyranitar
Adamant - Sandstream
Crunch
Stone Edge
Earthquake
Ice Fang

Metagross
Adamant - Clear Body
Meteor Mash
Earthquake
Agility
Zen Headbutt

Tangrowth
Impish - Chlorophyll
Power Whip
Sleep Powder
Knock Off
Leach Seed

Relicanth
Impish - Rock Head
Sleep Talk
Rest
Head Smash
Waterfall

Any suggestions would be nice.
