Love the title, emerald/ruby/sapphire all the way! Anyways, why does gengar have two status moves that can't be used at the same time? Confuse Ray could work.

Why does Gengar have hasty nature when it doesn't have any physical attacks? A well played Aerodactyl might give you some trouble and Dugtrio can also snipe out a couple of your Pokémon, which isn't too cool imo. =\ Otherwise it's a well balanced team, though, and certainly capable of taking out most common threats.

It's called ''sleep clause.'' Besides, Will-o-Wisp is extremely schmexy for screwing over physical sweepers, whereas Hypnosis is just generally a fun move to have. Confuse Ray fails, by the way.

Gengar should always use Hasty Nature, it makes it faster. No one uses Jolly Duggy so Raikou can outspeed Adamant Duggy with that spread. With that spread Duggy can come in on Celebi while I CM and then proceed to kill it while it doesn't OHKO me. How does Aero do anything to Stalk Milo, it has Marvel Scale. =\

Once they are asleep they will probably switch unless they have Sleep Talk, so then I predict a switch use WoW and hit the out comming Pokemon with it. Plus Hypnosis stops all things that Will-O-Wisp doesn't slow down.

So does Timid, except it reduces Attack (which you're not using at all) instead of Defense (which will be relevant).

Mullet July 29th, 2007 9:24 AM

Yeah it doesn't really matter as I'm not going to switch Gar in on anything that'll kill it anyway. Plus the Gar I changed this too had Focus Punch before and I didn't think to change it because it was late and I wanted sleep.

Seol July 29th, 2007 9:27 AM

Maybe not, but that doesn't mean he won't be taking attacks. You do however know that he won't be making physical attacks. If you acknowledge it's wrong, but you don't feel it makes much difference, fair enough - but it's just plain wrong to say "Gengar should always use Hasty nature".

Mullet July 29th, 2007 9:30 AM

I was thinking of the wrong Gengar. I forgot it didn't have physical attacks anymore. I just wasn't thinking. Back in the day people always [Hypnosis/Sub]/Focus Punch/Thunderbolt/Ice Punch so I was still thinking of back then when nobody used double status, at least no one I saw.

I switched though it doesn't matter all that much.

WOW, good job NOT reading, Purfugly.

This is an Advance team, not a D/P team.

Man I lol'd at the 252/252/4 Celebi or the 252/128/128 spread.

That gives it 401 HP and 300 def which allows it to survive Duggy and OHKO it if they switched in on a CM. That also gives it 241 speed which allows me to outrun 240 speed Zappy and friends. The rest goes into Sp. def to help me survive Ice Beams / FT/FB/HP [Fire]'s it might be taking.

c_dog July 29th, 2007 9:44 AM

sup mullet! welcome back to PC :P well, there's somebody i recognize for once.

that's definitely a nice team there. you were one of the best battlers in 3rd gen so i expected nothing less.

Mullet July 29th, 2007 9:53 AM
