Pokemon: Rocket's Return- An RMXP project
 
STORY
~~~~~
Kamon is a new Team Rocket Grunt, who has just finished his basic training and is ready to be deployed in the field. He is shipped away from the Rocket's Island Headquarters in the Erneil region to Pallet Town, of Kanto, and is told to disguise himself as a new trainer just beginning his journey. You will learn more of your mission as you progress through the game.
When he arrives he finds no starter Pokemon left for him, three trainers: Red, Blue, and Green have already chosen them, so you steal an Eeevee and begin your journey...

FEATURES
~~~~~~~
-Pokemon you catch will be transported to The Boss, so; you can't access them until a Waypoint
-At certain Waypoints Grunts will offer you a choice of 3 Pokemon
-You can steal Pokemon from people, if your theft meter is full, also the more you steal, the better you'll get and more often get away with it
-You can dress in different clothes
-Travel to Johto

Well, Acanthite was the first game to put Kamon in Team Rocket, so nyer :P Although you've put your own spin on it so that's ok.

Good luck with this. I think your interior maps need a little extra detail and a little less size so they look more like the official ones. Battle system's a fair start. Long way to go yet though, but keep working away ;)

This looks pretty good for 5 days old or something. I agree with Fangking Omega, you need a bit better house maps.

I am willing to help you with mapping. Before this gets to big can we please move this to rpgmaker2003? I just think that it is better than XP and much more flexible.

As I said, mapping i can do.

Can I just contradict you there? :P

RMXP is 100 times more flexible than RM2k3 as it gives you the ability to modify the scripts which is much more efficient than creating systems based on events. RM2k3 is not really designed to make an imitation of a Pokémon game.

Thats if you can script, I can't, but i see your piont.
Still, you can do anything will RM2K3 if you know how to use it, it just takes a while;).

And xp was not designed for recreating pokemon games or have i missed something?

With XP's scripting function you can definitely create working Pokémon systems directly at the core of the game instead of a huge number of events, as I shall be set to prove very soon ;) I cannot script well either, but that isn't to say other people can't :P

So all in all, RMXP is the much better option as it's easily manipulated through script. I'd recommend this project continues to use it.

Sorry that I haven't posted in a while, it's just that I've been super busy with school. Though I'll probably post something over the weekend.

Question: How do I make a person disappear after his event is done, because in one event, after I finish talking with a guy I have him erased, yet after I exit a building, he reappears. All help is appreciated.

Easy, delete the event. Its up move event or something it's something event.

Okay... That didn't make sense in the faintest... As I tried to say in my previous post, I had the Erase Event action named, after it fulfilled its purpose, but it reappears when I exit a building.

I think this should work, at the end of the event you want to delete turn Self Switch A on. Then create a new event page with the condition that Self Switch A is on and dont put anything on that page. hope that helps.

In case you don't understand that, its simple.
Make a new page activated by switch _ _ _ (001 for example)
After the dude has said what he says make it activate the switch.
Make the page of the activated switch have no words or graphics.

See?

that would work but i think Self Switches would work better, because if you use normal switches youll use all your switches up for meaningless things. where self switches each event gets like 4 that you dont have to program. but they both will work. I use self switches unless its a main story event, then i use normal switches. either one works though. =D

What ever, I haven't used xp for years, I use 2003. Eitherway It gets it done. Does it work dude?

yep i tested it out earlier, i works really good, and it saves switch space.

anyway i can't wait to see some new screens. keep it up.

Thanks the Local switch thing works, thought there is now another problem, after it finishes relaying its message, the event simply disappears, instead of walking away and disappearing. I'm sorry to need so much help...

OK, then you make 3 switches.
1. Dones the messages
2. Does the event with the dude walking away, THEN connects to switch 3
3. Deletes it.

You could, set which ever switch your using on last and put a wait for moves completion, and put the switch at the end of the event. like this

MY game i need help with
 
Well my Pokemon game is called Pokemon:Chaos Version i know not the best Title but heres the story line

You are well your self unfotonaly your parents were killed by the Evil Team Chaos and blew up your hometown and send you flying into palet town were tomorrow ash starts his Journey and heres what happened
Mrs.Ketchem:ash honey I'm heading shopping i,l be back.
Ash:ok mom.
mrs.Ketchem:!!!!! ASH COME HERE quick!
Ash:whats wrong mom !!!! what who is that.
Mrs.Ketchem:i don,t know hey whats your name?.
(name your self) i,l use my name for this walk though of my game
Mrs.Ketchem:well Michael can you come inside and explain what happened.
(inside you explain everything)
Ash:i see so your family was killed By team Chaos before you could start your Pokemon Journey.
Mrs.Ketchem:what about your home town?
(you explain)
ASH:WHAT! team Chaos wiped it out!
(you nod)
Mrs.Ketchem:Hmm ! hey ash you get your starting Pokemon tomorrow right?
Ash:yes.
Mrs.Ketchem:than why not take him to profeser Oak tomorrow and ask him if Michael can get a starting Pokemon too.
ASH:ok
so you will be traveling with Ash for your whole Journey
well thats the start can someone send me a starter kit so i can start making it

Also if anyone knows if its possible to make the scenes from the show let me know thanks
