Need help making my competitive team
Here are my current fully EV trained guys:
Physical Sweeper - Dragonite LV. 78 Adamant Nature Held Item - ??? EV Spread- atk:252 Speed:252 hp:4 Moveset: Earthquake Dragon Dance Dragon Claw Roost/??? Special Sweeper - Porygon-Z LV. 68 Timid Nature Held Item - Leftovers/??? EV Spread - SP. atk:252 speed:252 HP:4 Moveset: Shadow Ball Thunderbolt Tri Attack Ice Beam Where there are ???'s can you please suggest an item/move? Ok now after that I need 4 more people. I was thinking of having Lickylicky for my tank, a Lapras for something, a Magmortar for something, and maybe a Venasaur or some other kind of grass pokemon. Can anyone verify if this is a good team, and post any good replacements, good movesets, natures, and EV spreads? Help is greatly appreciated, I want to finally have my team fully made. |
Magmortar is used as a special sweeper. Lapras has lots of HP, and good defenses, so it's a decnt special wall.

Dragonite would do well with a Muscle Band or Expert Belt, and its fourth move should be either Focus Punch, which will hit any ice switch-ins hard, or Substitute, which can be used to stall.
PZ gets a life orb in that scenario, no question...it's rather frail in terms of defense, so a 10% loss of hp each turn is nothing if it gets the much-needed ohko. Anyways, you're left with many options. So I'll list a team that would gel with each other. With standards kept to a minimum. Also, Dragonite is rather lame and outclassed. You may want to replace it with, say, Salamence or Garchomp for dragons. Annoyer Venusaur Bold 252 hp/136 defense/120 special defense Hold Item: Black Sludge Sleep Powder/Leech Seed/Synthesis/Sludge Bomb Venu's goal here is to take out any sweeper threats, or neutralize any troublesome pokes. I recommend Venu for your lead. SweeperTank Vaporeon Modest 252 hp/252 special attack/4 defense Hold Item: Leftovers Surf/Ice Beam/Acid Armor/Wish Oh, the fun to be had with Vaporeon. Vaporeon can do so much random nonsense since it's a great pokemon. It can sweep, stall, baton pass, etc. I gave you a durable sweeper set. Wish/Acid Armor/Wish/Acid Armor is enough to halt most physical attackers in their tracks, and Vaporeon has high enough special defense that it can wall just about any special attack other than Thunderbolt or Energy Ball. Sweeper Weavile Adamant (as opposed to Jolly, since you have little to fear in the way of fast sweepers with Vaporeon and Venusaur, and need something to take out walls) EV's: 252 speed/252 attack/4 hp Hold item: Focus Sash Ice Punch/Night Slash/Brick Break/Swords Dance Weavile is renegade awesome. You might consider using it as a lead over Venusaur. With attack and speed through the roof, it hits hard. And, most of the time, first. Swords Dance is more of a novelty here. With a focus sash, you can get at least one off, perhaps two if they switch. From there on out, you might be able to take out whole teams if they don't have a hazer. Which all teams should. Dusknoir Impish 252 hp/120 defense/136 special defense Hold item: Leftovers Confuse Ray/Mean Look/Night Shade/Destiny Bond An unusual Dusknoir designed to force switches. Destiny Bond works wonders on opponents normally capable of feinting it (such as a statbuffer), and Mean Look with this setup is pretty much a gurranteed knockout (one way or the other). Alternatively, you could run Pain Split/Mean Look/Night Shade/Destiny Bond, which doesn't require Dusknoir sacrificing itself for a ko, in which case ditch the hp iv's and do 252 defense/252 special defense/4 speed. Hope this team works for you. |
^^Thanks to the dude above.

+sdef -special attack (whatever that may be)
252 hp/252 special defense/4 attack Leftovers Curse/Waterfall/Ice Shard/Rest Not a bad set, it turns Lapras into a double wall. Alternatively you could replace Curse with Dragon Dance to turn it into a sweeper/wall combination. If you do that, spread your ev's into something like 256 hp/120 defense/136 special defense. You'll need a few rounds of dancing for any sort of potency, but Lapras is durable. I'm not really a fan of Lapras...it's a neutered Vaporeon that's a little better at statbuffing. If you need a special wall Lapras, though, this is probably one of the better setups you can use. |

Careful/Calm Nature EVs: 252 HP, 252 Sp Def, 4 Atk / 252 HP, 252 Sp Def, 4 Sp Atk -Waterfall / Surf -Avalanche / Ice Beam -Rest -Sleep Talk Stalker Lapras could be useful, depending on whether you want it to have Physical attacks or Special Attacks (The specials have higher Base Power but you could Baton Pass a Swords Dance or something maybe) |
