Aside from Mondays, your school had about the same amount of time as mine did. :\ Weird.

The lottery idea is much, much worse.

The lottery idea? Enlighten me, what's that? XD;

But My secondary that I'm going to is 6 hr 25, 7 hr 25 on Mondays.

I wish I went to your school. My school week went like this:

Monday: 9am-4:30pm
Tuesday: 9am-4:pm
Wednesday: 9am-4.30pm
Thursday: 9am-4pm
Friday: 9am-3pm*

*If you did an extra course class like Latin, Statistics etc then Friday would've been 9am-5pm.

Also, we had one fifteen minute break at about 11am and then a 50 minute lunch break at 1pm.

Drummershuff July 31st, 2007 12:52 PM

Woah, mine's 8:35am to 2:50pm, and I always thought that was a long day. XD My school's the only one that starts at 8:35, though; everywhere else starts at 8am, which I think is insane. o.o

Instead of kids choosing their secondary school they all get put into a draw to see which school (in their area) they go too.

So really a kid could land up with no mates in a crap school that he/she hates.

Cherrim July 31st, 2007 12:53 PM

Dawson's school makes more sense to me. o_o For longer breaks and more days off, longer days would be expected.

And...that makes no sense. ._.; If they want to send kids to different schools, do it by testing or something. I dunno. But lottery doesn't sound right at all.

My school used to be from 8:17 to 2:22. :o

Wish July 31st, 2007 12:54 PM

My schedule for school is from 8am - 3pm.
Pretty simple School time, IMO

I still can't believe how some schools end earlier then that.

Cherrim July 31st, 2007 12:55 PM

The schools might have shorter recess/lunch break times. :O That's usually why there are discrepancies in school times.

I know.

I'm glad I got to choose.

well see you all I've got to go.

Emma July 31st, 2007 1:09 PM

My school day starts at 8:30am to 3:00pm.

And that lottery idea is stupid. D: I'd be stuffed if I was put in a draw to find out which school I was going to be in, because the 2nd nearest secondary school from me is about a 30 minutes walk. And I wouldn't be able to get a ride to school, seeing as my dad leaves for work about 7am. x_x

If the summer holidays were shortened to just 4 weeks. I'd be gutted. ;_;

Chikara July 31st, 2007 4:49 PM

My school starts at 8:20, and we get out at 3:10. We don't ever actually do anything though, so I don't mind the length of the day XD

Alex_ July 31st, 2007 5:18 PM

Our school starts at 8 a.m. and it ends at 3:10 if you're riding the bus, 3:30 if you're staying afterschool.

Cherrim July 31st, 2007 7:18 PM

o_O; You have to stay longer if you don't bus? So the walking-distance students are kinda shafted? That sucks. XD;

Alex_ July 31st, 2007 7:39 PM

Yep. It gives the buses time to get out of the way so no one gets ran over while walking home or going to sports practices.

Midnight Beat July 31st, 2007 7:45 PM

Nomally my school strated at 7:30 and went to 2:30 but this year they changed it to 8:25 to 3:25 which sucks.

Ayano Katagiri July 31st, 2007 8:23 PM

^^ Wow.... 7:30?? O.o That's like when I begin to stir in bed...

My school starts at 8:45am and goes through till 3:30pm. But somehow, I still manage to be late for school at times, even though I only live about 5mins away by car.

Midnight Beat July 31st, 2007 8:28 PM

That's what I thought about at 7:30 too but by the time I got home it was only 3:00. It was great!! But now that's gone. :(

Ayano Katagiri July 31st, 2007 8:35 PM

I prefer a later school starting time. That may only be because I like sleeping in... xDD

But I suppose an early time would have an effect on the whole day, wouldn't it? I could see people being really tired each day if that was so early for getting up just to get to school. I remember when I was in Japan I had to get up at 6:00ish and that was horrible because I'm used to sleeping in ...

I'm running late if I wake up at 6am. I wake up at 5-5:30, get ready, wake myself up, go to school. Only good thing is, I get home like at 3. If there's football practice, then 5. Either way, it's all good. XD

Wow... 5-6am?? That's like... early as. xD I'd be like in a "hang-over" like mood if I woke up at that sort of time. ;D

Actually, that might just be due to my lack of sleep... =X

It doesn't bother me, once my sleep cycle is on track, it's all good. XD

But I felt sorry for the elementary schools that start at 8:30, and switching over to middle school (get there @ 7). I love when they complain, but I'm off to high school, so... yay? XD

Yeah no one really becomes active until mid 2nd period. I too enjoy sleeping in but I had to get up a 6 to catch the bus anyway. But now I get to sleep in somewhat but I wont get home until 4.

People don't start waking up until 3rd period, usually. XD It's really funny the first day of school when people are dragging everything.

First day of school after a long break is always a laugh... especially when it's been like the Summer holidays and 8 weeks out of school routine. You can just immediately distinguish between the slackers and the energetic, enthusiastic ones for school.

I tried getting up a 5:30 versus 6 and it just didn't do it. So I started showering in the morning instead of at night which really helped.

Alex_ July 31st, 2007 9:38 PM

I get tired on the bus ride home. I fall asleep a lot, and almost miss my stop. Haven't missed it yet, though.

Ayano Katagiri July 31st, 2007 9:41 PM

I'm only tired during the first two periods and sometimes when going home after a long day. I can't wake up properly in the morning, especially when I get out of bed like 15mins before school and 1st period actually starts!!!

Same here, and because I'm so tired then as soon as I do get home I take a nap which makes me not want to sleep when it's time for bed.

Another reason why I wake up early. XD

I had to go to my school, then get on another bus to go to another school for French, so if I was late, I'd miss the bus. Never happened though, but I have cut it close.

Warheart July 31st, 2007 10:55 PM

dude, being perfectly honest, I probably only fell asleep once every 2 or 3 nights last year in school. Why? I live at least 30 minutes away from my school, I was like, the 3rd person who got picked up on my bus in the morning, and school started at like 7:10 Every day, so I had to be up at like, 5 AM.

Eventually, Like I said, I found a way around it, and attempted to just stay awake all night, and not have to worry about getting up in the morning. It workd for a good, oh, I'd say, 3 days before I came home and passed out in my room on the 4th day after school xD

Emma August 1st, 2007 2:33 PM

For most of the year I got up at 5am, but towards the end of the school year I started waking up at like, half 5 to 6. I still managed to get ready, have a bit of free times and get to school which is roughly 5 minutes away from the school. I tend to feel more awake during the day if I get 5-6 hours sleep each night, no idea why, it's meant to be the opposite, right? XD

There was one morning where my alarm didn't go off and I ended up sleeping another couple of hours. .__. I woke up again at abot 7:40am and I had to be out of the house by 8:15am. I managed to do it, but I literally had to run around the house to get my stuff together and get ready in time. D:

-Falcon- August 1st, 2007 3:11 PM

Back when my school used to start at 9 I'd get up at 7:30 and have plenty of time to get to the bus. But know that I'm going into high school I have to get up much earlier, seeing that my school starts ten minutes before I used to wake up o0. So I'm probably going to be /really/ tired during school :o

That's why I don't have an alarm, it nevers wakes me up. My mom just whacks me with pillows, which still takes awhile. XD

I don't have an alarm either. During the school year I automatically wake up at 7am, but I don't have to get up until 7:30, so I fall back asleep again. My mum comes in at around half-past and calls my name, and it annoys me so much that I do just get up to stop her calling me. XD It works though, otherwise I'd just sleep and sleep.

Today, funnily enough, was the first day I woke up before noon during the summer. I guess it's because I'm sick and went to bed earlier last night, but it feels weird to be up early. If you can call 11am early, anyway.

wolfie1177 August 2nd, 2007 5:38 AM

I have like 5 alarms to wake me up in the morning. And sometimes that doesn't even do it. I have to get up at like 6-6:15 to get ready for school too, because my bus stop is really early in the route. And even after taking every precaution I can to make sure I stay awake, I inevitably fall asleep in one of my classes. Luckily, I wear a hat, so I just pull that over my eyes and go night-night ;).

yvette August 2nd, 2007 5:44 AM

I wake up real late in the summer. At 11:00 a.m., usually. My mother forced me to wake up at 8:00 today, otherwise I'd still be sleeping.

Chikara August 2nd, 2007 5:47 AM

I wake up at 8 every day. It's not like I wanted to wake up, it just happened, then I can't get back to sleep D:

My alarm clock doesn't wake me up when I need to it XD

Midnight Beat August 2nd, 2007 5:52 AM

My alarm is so loud and high piched I wake up to it whether I like it of not. XD

Eruption August 2nd, 2007 6:40 AM

I used to use alarm.

But, it was ineffective in waking me up so now my mum just wakes me up.

wolfie1177 August 2nd, 2007 6:53 AM

Yeah, my one alarm can be set to be really loud too, the thing almost gives you a heart attack the first few times. But after about a month I get used to it, and even that starts to not wake me up. That's why I put an alarm on my desk, so that there's kind of a failsafe if the others don't wake me up.

Ben Kenobi August 2nd, 2007 7:03 AM

I don't have any sleep schedule. I just go to sleep and wake up whenever I feel like, except on school days, when I usually wake up at about 7:35.

Because the weather has been getting warmer, I find it harder to get to sleep. Not sure when I went to sleep but I remember I woke up at about 1:15pm today.

Yeah same for me, on non-school days I sleep whenever.

I usually wake up 3 hours later than school time (I suppose 4hr 30 min with the time I'll have to wake up for school now)

Razer302 August 2nd, 2007 7:48 AM

I don't use alarm clocks. They never wake me up. I normally get woken up by my phone going off at around 7am. During holidays i wake up around 7 to 7:30 but won't get out of bed till around 9-10. No point getting up to early. If i do my mum or dad will give me jobs to do all day.

Hideki~kun August 2nd, 2007 7:51 AM

^ Same.

Cherrim August 2nd, 2007 10:24 AM

I dunno how long my walk to school would have been. I'd be insane to try it. XD Mom drove me there every morning (about a 20 minute drive) and then on the way home, I took the school bus for 20-30 minutes and walked home from the bus stop, which took another 15 minutes. :\

Wish August 2nd, 2007 10:26 AM

I don't take the school bus, So I can wake up around 6:40, and can leave around 7:30, instead of waking up at 6:00 to catch the school bus at 7:00

Eruption August 2nd, 2007 10:31 AM

I dont take School Bus, I take the public bus.

Midnight Beat August 2nd, 2007 10:32 AM

I used to get up at 6 to catch the bus at 6:45 but the times changed this year so I'm not sure what I am going to do yet. But I only have about a year more of riding the bus, but it's ironic I get my licences in the last three weeks of school.

Cherrim August 2nd, 2007 10:34 AM

Lol, you all get up so early. :| Whatever time I left for school every morning, I'd get up about 5 or 10 minutes before. So if my mom left at 7:45, I'd be up around 7:35. XD I hate getting up early.

I wake up at the most boring-est time... 7:00. I eventually get out of bed at 7:30, sneakage on the computer and just apply make-up for the rest of the time before school, which I leave for ten minutes before it starts. My morning life is so boring. XD

Craig² August 3rd, 2007 1:06 AM

During Summer I wake up at 1 PM ~ <3

I like sleeping-in. ^__^

During school though, I've gotta wake up at six am. ;___; *sobs*

Ivysaur August 3rd, 2007 3:35 AM

I wake at 6:45 because I go by public bus, and some days I have had to wait half an hour for it to come. I enter at 8:05. And, in History (first hour), we are all slept in my class XD

Wish August 3rd, 2007 4:03 AM

Yay for having Nan and Pop to take me to school... being in an orange car lowers my popularity though. Not like I had any to begin off with. XD

Both of my parents work. My mum will give me a lift to school only if she can. If not I walk in the rain.
I hate getting a lift with my pop. He always asks questions about who I talk to at end of school. He also watches me walk into school to make sure I go in. Kind of pointless as I never skip school anyway.

I'm not on holidays... I'm actually glad I'm at school... over the last two days maths has become suprisingly interesting to me. I can't access fireworks at home either so being at school has that plus.

Razer302 August 3rd, 2007 4:24 AM

I broke up 5 weeks ago. I still have another 5 weeks left till I go back. I miss school. I enjoyed being around all the people and being able to play football everyday. For some reason I also miss some of the lessons. Like maths and Geography.

Ivysaur August 3rd, 2007 4:29 AM

Wow... I won't return to school until middle September.

Geography? Map work is soo boring. For the S+E area history is definately better than geography.

Well my district makes us go early August :( So cruel of them.

Razer302 August 3rd, 2007 4:36 AM

I took History as well. I found it to be really boring. I found it boring and think I failed. Geography wasn't anything really to do with map work. We only did 1 small project looking at maps. Can't wait to get the result for my tests back on the 23rd of August. I should pass ICT with an A easily. Should get a C or higher in everyting else. Apart from graphics which I will fail.

Hakeen August 3rd, 2007 4:39 AM

We're doing geography now.... but we get mainly map work and little economic work. History is easy for me because it involves more words rather than legends and codes.

I, for one agree with you on that. It's my favorite class in one way. I get to catch some of my sleep xD

Eruption August 3rd, 2007 4:49 AM

I like History.

Only intresting subject.

Hakeen August 3rd, 2007 4:51 AM

Kuro~ History isn't THAT boring. I've never fallen asleep in history. Came close to though... wasn't my fault, the video was old.

Razer302 August 3rd, 2007 4:52 AM

Learning about the cold war in History was about the only good thing for me. I found learning about WW1 and WW2 boring. We always do the World wars so learning about the Cold War was better. But even then we didn't do that much on it. Only spent a few weeks on it.

It really depends on the teacher in my opinion.

The Cold war was a little boring in my opinion, but that's only because we were learning it from Australia's point of view, which wasn't really a major point of view.

Actually, I'll agree with that. My year eight/nine teacher hated me, I got level two's and three's. Which is C and D grade. And this year with another teacher, I got a B which is level four constantly, which is good.

WW2 was fascinating for me.

Ancient Greece would be the best so far for me though.

Razer302 August 3rd, 2007 5:03 AM

I remember doing Ancient Greece in year 3 or 4. Haven't done it since then.

If you had my teacher I would be surprised if you managed to stay awake. She has a monotone voice and it is so boring. No exaggeration or anything. Not many people in my class took it seriously.

If you do History at GCSE you are basically learning the same as you did when you were younger. Just gives some more description.

Glad I haven't picked History as an option for year 12 and 13. I don't think I could last another 2 years with that teacher.

Eruption August 3rd, 2007 5:09 AM

Boring teacher are for boring subjects.

Like Literacy.

By the way, whats everyone doing other than this?

I'm challenging 5th gym on Diamond.

Hakeen August 3rd, 2007 5:10 AM

Is literacy like English? If so English is interesting at times...

Its the same thing.

Just a different name.

Razer302 August 3rd, 2007 5:16 AM

The English teacher I had to years ago was good. My new one isn't as good but she can be fun at times.

I am playing my Diamond at the minute. Only got it Friday and managed to complete the Pokedex and the elite four in 4 days. I played 33 hours in 4 days. I am SO sad. Had nothing else to do though.

Our English teacher is nice, but extremely boring... my health teacher is the most interesting, he's sexist though...
