But, fish are fish. Eat them to survive. Unless we clone whales in which PETA will go nuts about, even though theres not to much wrong with it.

Jester Girl December 30th, 2007 7:21 AM

I'm sure in a few years there are going to be the above average amount of whales because PETA makes a fit about how we harm creatures so much.

lol @ peta.

And about the Japan conversation; They're pretty odd. I mean, they have pantie vending machines.

We could just eat other things to survive?

I'm here now and I've never ate a fish.

ASG December 30th, 2007 9:53 AM

I never had fish either. But countries farther North like Canada,Finland, and Russia (Russia FTW) need whales. And I need my whale goldfish cracker things.

PB. December 30th, 2007 10:03 AM

I love fish i always eat it, plus it has lots of things in it which are good for you.

Lady Nicole December 30th, 2007 10:44 AM

I'm a vegetarian, so I would never try eating any kind of creature >.< It just makes me feel sick and I get really squeamish! Every time I see someone cutting a prawn in half, to me that's like watching someone have their finger cut off. It's makes me squeal and shudder and turn my head away XD I don't know why...

So anyway, I just don't look XD

Eruption December 30th, 2007 10:46 AM

I understand vegetarians even if I am not one myself.

I mean you would eat a pig but would you eat a human?

Twinx December 30th, 2007 10:52 AM

Well, I certainly don't enjoy watching them kill the animals but I do eat meat, mostly because it's delicious, all the health benefits are a plus :P.

Pigs have sentience. They have eyes.

The word you're looking for is sapience.

I eat tuna regularly. My mum eats Salmon, Pilchard, Haddock and Sardine. I don't really like the smell of them and am too afraid to try them.

I also see nothing wrong with eating them because it is for food, not for fun!

Chibi-chan December 30th, 2007 11:31 AM

I love meat. I mean, why not eat it? The animal's already been killed, letting the food go to waste would be worse now wouldn't it? We have canine teeth for a reason.

Xairmo December 30th, 2007 11:38 AM

If a human doesnt eat an animal then the animal will eventually be eaten by another animal >.>
Its called survival of the fittest

Twinx December 30th, 2007 11:39 AM

If an animal was killed in front of you, would you eat it?
I sure wouldn't... somehow that's different...

No, I'd watch it decompose and be eaten violently by some other animal.

I'd cry :'(

Apparently they kill sheep and lambs horribly :( I saw a documentary about it once. It was sickening. Oh yeah, and calves, you know, they shut them in cramped, tiny crates... o.O If you ever eat veal, chances are it will have been male.

If I were a wild animal, I would die because I'm too squeamish to harm another animal and see it's blood XD

Yeah, I can't get over this thing I have >.< I don't think of beef as food; I think of it as a cow corpse... I can't help it D:

PB. December 30th, 2007 12:24 PM

So I'm guessing your a strict vegeterian.

I can eat meat if i dont see it being killed or any blood put if i do i wont eat it. Like this year our Christmas Turkey had giblets in and i didnt eat any after seeing them.

Twinx December 30th, 2007 12:26 PM

Lady Nicole, is everyone in your household vegetarian ? Or just you?

Well yeah, but I eat eggs and stuff... if they're free range XD

Oh my! I probably would have squealed at the sight of the Christmas turkey XD Somehow they freak me out anyway, you know, the fact it was once alive scares me...

I became a veggie when I was 8, ever since my brother found something that looked horribly like a vein in his chicken XD That was enough to put me off for life. In addition I think I'm getting more and more squeamish at the sight of dead things, blood and internal organs as I get older D: One thing I really can't stand is dead insects/bugs *shudders* I'm moving to Australia in 8 months so I'll have to get rid of my tarantula cos I can't bring it with me :( But I'm glad in a way because it's really young and I won't ever have to see it dead. I don't find anything scary about my tarantula at all but I find a dead tarantula very scary indeed.

STEELIXMANIAC December 30th, 2007 1:21 PM

Aw... you've never been able to get over it this whole time? And goody for you; you acutally have a personal fridge. I wanna have one so I can snatch a can of soft drink anytime I want. D=

Yes. I've even seen a lamb being skinned, gutted, and butchered while hanging on a hook. Blood was all over the floor as well. Smelt kinda odd, but nyeh.

I believe I ate some of it's meat that very day, fresh from the carcass o3o

You're awesome, man.

I've witnessed a chicken getting it's throat sliced, run around headless with blood squirting out its open wound, drop dead lifeless, put in hot water, had it's feathers plucked off one by one, cut up into nice pieces and cooked for lunch.

But I couldn't eat it after seeing all that.

I don't see stuff like that at all in the United States, but in the Philippines, just substitute a goat or pig for the lamb, and you're all right.

Keyword: see. There are stuff that are not shown because people are not interested in things like and such as conservation of lambs. Eh.

Myself, I have abstained from eating a cooked rabbit (yes, rabbit) after watching it slaughtered. However, I freely feasted on the chickens of which I have not watched it slaughtered. This was a family reunion feast by a livestock farm.

That headless part would have been kinda neat. Did you know that the human head, once cut from the neck, still "lives" for just a few moments i.e. the decapitated person can still see hear and smell what's going on around them.

Yeah, I was in Lebanon at the time. I think what I described above would be considered a health hazard in many countries ^^;

Margot December 30th, 2007 8:59 PM

I have never personally seen any animals being sacrificed before, but my Dad's family in another country did something like that. I'm not too sure as to the reasons but they did it to a sheep.

I don't think I'd be able to watch an animal die, it's not that I'm squeemis around blood or anything but it's just so sad :< Esepecially if they're like in pain and crying. I couldn't quite handle that.

The Infinite Devil Machine December 30th, 2007 9:02 PM

I can't stand seeing my father prepare an already dead chicken for dinner. I wouldn't be able to witness an animal being sacrificed.

ASG December 30th, 2007 10:16 PM

Better then cannibals. Well, anything is really.

Cherrim December 30th, 2007 10:43 PM

Aside from putting live lobster into a pot of boiling water which kills them instantly... I've never seen anyone prepare something that wasn't already dead. :|

I can imagine it would be a little off-putting to have to see it then eat it, though. XD;

Momoko December 31st, 2007 3:45 AM

Blech-that reminds me of 4th grade-we actually went to a slaughter house! They cut off chickens heads n then theiz ran around for 10 seconds without a head and die! I didn't eat meat for like 3 months >:(

You haven't seen I'm a celebrity get me out of here then.

They always to tasks like eating penis and anus. Usually crocodile or kangaroo.

It isnt usually disgusting. Just insect filled.

Eating horrible things like that is just one of the challenges.

They have other challenges like spending the night with loads of rats in a locked room.

I'm amazed how barely anyone cracks on that show.

The funniest bit is the face when the testicles pop in the mouth, classic.

A cheap version of Fear Factor? Not really, it's putting celebrities who get it easy in an environment where they have to do near enough everything themselves.

Was well chuffed that Biggins won this year.

Yeah. I heard it in a rap song - "When the human body is severed from the head with a sharp enough weapon, the brain remains conscious for ten seconds." And people say rap is rubbish... :P

I like Fear Factor. It's disgustingly good to watch. Those eating challenges are all about mind over matter. If you're thinking tiger penis when you're eating tiger penis then you're eating tiger penis. But if you're thinking sweet bananas while you're eating tiger penis then ... well you're still eating tiger penis but it wouldn't be as difficult.

I was in grade 2, when the game "Truth or Dare" was the most popular game to play at recess. Obviously, I was dared to eat the longest worm I could find lying on the ground. Yes, I was a stupid kid. Pretty sure I never chose the 'Dare' option ever again. -shudders- ;;

More often than not, however, the "Truth" option will compel you to divulge information you obviously wouldn't want your friends to know about. So, if it's a choice between eating the worm and coughing up state secrets, you eat the worm, because the penalty for treason is infinitely worse.

Point taken. Humans can obviously consume certain materials without any (long-lasting) ill effects, though there's always that gross-out factor (for lack of a better term) preventing them from doing so.

That was Ryan? Huh.

Unless the worm had super de duper gigantic disease that would infest my body in seconds and would be contagious at the touch, wiping out 95.5% of the population and then lying dormant for 30675 years and then coming back to devour the rest of the earth's population. >:D

The likelihood of something like that happening is exactly zero, Karli. I wouldn't fret too much about some nondescript earthworm carrying such a contagion, and you shouldn't either.

Well, when was the last time you had blood and/or tissue samples tested? Surely they would have caught something amiss and taken the appropriate course of action if they found something in you.

The feeling was obviously mutual for both you and Mr. Wormy. (You actually named the worm. Wow.)
