Breeding Strategy
I breed quite often, but I've only bred certain types and genders, and one thing has escaped me has now become an issue: breeding a certain gender to learn egg moves. My dilemma: I need a baby Chimchar that knows Thunderpunch. I know I could breed with, say... a Jolteon. But the starter is male. How exactly do I get the dominant moves from the male if I need a female of the same Pokemon I'm trying to breed? Am I missing something? perhaps I don't know as much about breeding as I thought. Any help is appreciated.

why don't you get a female?(ditto)

You'll need to breed the Chimchar with Ditto to get a female Chimchar so that the moves can be passed down. There's no other way unfortunately.

Jolteon can't even learn Thunderpunch, so breeding a Chimchar (male) without Thunderpunch in order to get a Chimchar with Thunderpunch would be completely irrelevant.
Breed a female Chimchar with one of the following in its male version while it also knows Thunderpunch. Ampharos Kadabra/Alakazam Elekid/Electabuzz/Electivire Medicham Hitmonchan Pikachu/Raichu |
thanks ok i am just glad to help
