Well, I downloaded it exactly from there, again 1.06. When I have time, I'll download it to my computer with XP and transfer to my laptop with Vista, maybe that'll work.

EDIT: I found out that my computer's firewall was blocking it, so I unblocked it. I was unable to install it but I nearly got it to work. I searched and found the Registration thing, so I tried opening it while my DS tried to connect with it. Surprisingly, it almost worked. The problem was that the Registration thing didn't show up, so Windows would close it. I got some sort of error like 51099 or something, idk.

is this thread in the wrong place ??

Spinor December 4th, 2008 12:02 AM

It's not your computer. It happens sometime when a few types of Internet Routers simply don't have connection to Nintendo Wi-Fi due to security reasons or just because.

Also, make sure you have any firewalls turned off if you are using an Adapter.

ArtekOublier December 5th, 2008 3:25 AM

I just recently got my wifi up and running. I was delighted at the prespect of being able to access the GTS finally without having to wait until i went to my bfs house. I did as it asked, searched for the network and entered the WEP key, that usually dois it, but it was saying it couldn't find an IP address. I looked up the setting for my router and under DCHP it had the nintendo ds as one of the things connected, even though it's not, it light up green for about half a minute then the reception goes again, I've been in ever room in the house to try it.
I've also tried entering the ip address, subnet mask as default gateways and dns servers, doing it manually through looking up the setting for my router. It still wont work. Can anyone help please?

WiFi... HELP!!

I went and bought Pearl, all excited that I'd be able to battle random people in Brazil. Then, TO MY HORROR, I discovered that my wireless was not WEP or WAP or something. So, what do I do? How do I WEP/WAP-ify it, or can I jsut go down to McDonalds and use the WiFi there?

Gerri Shin December 14th, 2008 6:00 AM

you can go down to macdonalds and user their WiFi without any problems, but you real don't need a WEP password on your router to use your ds with it. just go into the WiFi settings and have your ds look for access points, it should detect your router and set it up for you to use if your router is set up without a password.

Nintendo Wi-Fi

I have no clue where exactly to post this, so I put it where it seemed fitting. If this is incorrect, by all means move it to the correct place.

ANYWAY, heres the deal- I have Pokemon Pearl. I want to play Wi-Fi, only I dont have wireless internet. I know of a Adapter that allows you to play Wi-Fi without a wireless connection, only I keep hearing that its been discontinued, and also that they still sell them. So I wanna know the truth- do they still sell these adapters anywhere other than online?

But I still need an answer to my question, so...anyone? xD

I don't think you're going to be able to find them in a store for quite some time. so it looks like you'll either have to get one off of ebay or similar site or spring for just a normal wireless router that can be picked up at almost any electronic store these days.

WiFi problem

On Diamond, when I try to connect to WiFi, at either the Battle Tower or GTS, the game freezes and both screens go black. All other games work fine with WiFi. How can I fix this?

Artemis December 26th, 2008 8:31 AM

foolfromhell December 28th, 2008 6:45 PM

Is it just me or does WiFi not work anymore?

I tried trading with 2-3 people here and 1 friend of mine in real life. Same problem, it doesnt register they are playing or says "xxx is unavailable", etc. Last night and today.

Kite Katsumi December 28th, 2008 6:49 PM

Edel and I tried trading the night before last...it was lagging very badly. And when we thought we finally got it to work...
I would put the trade invitation out, she'd apply, I'd get the "So and so wants to play with you!" screen...it would stay on that screen for awhile, then it would say "So and so failed to respond" and it wouldn't work. We tried several times, logging in & out..I even unplugged & replugged my router because sometimes that will fix it. But we couldn't get it to work. :/

TwilightBlade December 29th, 2008 4:43 PM

Yes, we're all having problems connecting, and it's mostly error code 80430 for the DS. For my DS, it's Pokemon and Animal Crossing. For my Wii, it's Brawl and even the store. I can connect, but the connection is unstable and breaks.

The error code site lists possible options, but I've tried everything. I've disabled my firewall, but only for those devices, as I can't be arsed enough to put my computers in jeopardy due to Nintendo's lolness.

Basically, it's their busy server, so we're just going to have to wait until they adjust it or Christmas nubbies get tired of it. (b'-')b

thanks for the reply i fell much better i thought i was the only 1 with the error

Banjora Marxvile December 30th, 2008 6:03 AM

My USB connector went wrong, so I tried reinstalling it. It got to Setting up Internet Sharing, and it went wrong. The error message was "Internet Connection Sharing error.(6)". I went o the site it gives at the beginning of the installation (www.nintendowifi.com), and that was... Garbled and not there. Is that site down?

Pazuzu December 30th, 2008 6:13 AM

Uninstall the WFC software, remove the connection sharing on your network connection, restart, reinstall and see what happens.

Did you try nintendowifi.com? That doesn't work, and normally it does. Anyway, I did uninstall the USB connector, and I can't reinstall it. How do I remove the connection sharing?

Pazuzu December 30th, 2008 6:54 AM

The site's down for me too, though it doesn't really matter.

You remove connection sharing by going to your network connection list (acessable via either the start menu or quick links in the explorer windows), right clicking on the connection that has a hand below it, going to "Properties" and then the last tab. You will see options regarding connection sharing. Disable those, restart, and try to reinstall the WFC software again.

I got my DS at christmas and so far i havent been able to get it to link to anything.

Error Code: 51300 is what pops up. I have tried my parents wep code or w/e it is. I have also tried to go off of unlocked internt routers of various types.

Should I just give up and buy a USB adapter? T_T

Gerri Shin December 31st, 2008 5:02 PM

well, have a look at this support page and if you try the possibilites there with no luck it might be a worthwhile venture to see if you can find one via ebay or Amazon as those are the only places to get the Nintendo usb connectors.

Find the URL of your router and put it in you browser with http:// before it and then log in with the username and password of the router.
These may be found on the bottom of it of the router.
After change the security settings from WPA to WEP, enter in a code and then save the settings.

It still may not work unlike me which I need help on because after that it could not obtain my IP and I could not manually put in my details.
Anyone know how to solve this?

Wifi issues

I am having wifi issues.

At first I thought it was my dsl modem, but I was able to figure out that my wifi router seems to be the problem, that is until a few minutes ago.

I turned on my xbox 360, and got booted from my network, so I tried to re connect, and it only connected with limited connectivity, so I tured my xbox off, and my computer conected to the network no problem.

I do have wireless controllers, and the Xbox is not currently connected to the network in any fashion.

Is it reasonable to presume that the wireless transmitter in my xbox or controller is interfering with my wifi? And if it is, how do I solve this issue?

My WEP code?

Okay I recently got a Linksys Wireless Router. I tried hooking it up, and I'm pretty sure I have it hooked up right. So I tried ascessing wifi on my DS. Then I have a to enter the WEP code to ascess it. That's when I got lost. I tried Nintendo.com to help, but they didn't have all the model numbers for Linksys. So that didn't help. So now I'm lost and I don' know what to do. If it helps I have a Linksys Router with a model number of WRT160N. I hope someone can help.

Pazuzu March 15th, 2009 5:49 AM

The WEP Key is the passphrase you use to connect to your router via wireless.

Since you don't seem to know it, I assume you're connected via LAN cable, correct?

If so, go to your router's settings page in your web browser and set a WEP key. Then enter that in your DS.

Your router should have come with instructions on how to access its settings page. It will usually involve accessing a specific IP address from your internet browser and perhaps entering a specific password that you set up during installation. The exact address will vary, but it should look something like 189.165.1.1 or something of the sort.

...Hmm. I realize that this is not exactly sage advice, but make certain to read through the instructions to see if you happened to miss anything, and that you entered the right address.

Which internet browser are you using, anyway?

WEP key help.

Well, lets see...

I want to get into Wi-Fi on my DS for Pokémon Diamond and Pearl (and Platinum). I have a NETGEAR Wireless Router connected to my parents computer so my computer can get internet. :x

The security settings that are entered into the Router are a WPA key. I asked my mom if we could get the WEP key. I checked Nintendo.com and it said something about the security settings getting changed. My mom wouldn't change it to that if it messes with her security settings for her computer.

Can someone please explain to me if it will mess up your computer if you change the security settings for a WEP key?

Thanks in advance~

Glitchfinder March 15th, 2009 12:27 PM

What does the page look like? Right now it looks like you are using an unsecured wireless network (as in, you didn't set the WEP code when you set it up, so anyone can access it). If that's the case, then you have to go into the settings on that page and set up a wep code.

The difference is simple. A WPA key is a higher-quality form of encryption (protection, if you must ask) than the older WEP code, and a DS simply can't use it. If your mom won't let you change the network (which I wouldn't recommend anyway), I'd recommend getting a Nintendo wifi usb stick, so that you can connect the DS to the internet without going through your network.

Tyrantrum March 15th, 2009 12:51 PM

Okay, I've found one on E-Bay, and hopefully my mom will buy it for me! XD;

They all should come with setup CDs, yes. I doubt that the icon is common, though, since I had personally never dealt with anything of the sort.

Okay, I'm at my friends house, and he has the WEP key. I connected to Wi-Fi on the configuration settings for Pokémon Diamond, but when I go into the GTS, it doesn't connect. Sometimes it goes in without a connection, but I don't get why there isn't a connection.

(I bought my Wi-Fi in like.... 2007-8-ish) But i still have the disks and every thing.

Right so.

My wifi used to work, right? A few couple of months ago... I can't tell you how long it's been, since I just started playing pearl again after several months.

So when I try to connect it gives me the error 52100. (What happens exactly is that the little bars (Idk what they're called) are red for a few seconds, then they turn green and stay green for about a minute then turn back to red.) So I went to the Nintendo Wifi website but that didn't help at all.

I've tried resetting my router, going to the router website (You know, the one where you put the IP in your adress bar?) and turning off the firewall and allowing my DS's MAC address. None of that has helped.

I tried upgrading the firmware for my router, but when I try to open the file to do so, it gives me this thing like, "Windows could not find a program to open this file with", or something to that effect.

So help me out guys. (If it helps, I'm using a Vista and my router is a Westell 327W/B90-327W15-06)
