Hitmonlee help

Ok, Im going to get a Hitmonlee, so far I have this

Hitmonlee
Item ???
Carefull - Limber
EV spread 252 attack, 126 Spdef, 132 Speed
Substitute
Focus Punch
Blaze Kick
Hi Jump Kick

I know this needs work...

Anti July 31st, 2007 2:44 PM

Stone Edge and EQ for subpunch

Iceman3k July 31st, 2007 7:08 PM

Eh this might help.

Hitmonlee @ Life Orb
Ability: Body Risk
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Blaze Kick
- Hi Jump Kick
- Stone Edge
- Bulk Up / Mach Punch
Hitmonlee needs Jolly Nature, along with a max Speed IV to reach 300 Speed. Also, Hitmonlee doesn't have enough HP to take hits or use Defensive EVs on it.

You'll pierce through a lot of things if you can get Bulk Up to work.

Brick Break instead of Hi Jump Kick. It could miss at the worst moment and BANG you're dead.

Body Risk boosts Hi Jump Kick's Power.
But if not Hi Jump Kick, then stick with Close Combat.

And for the record, Brick Break sucks in D/P now.

Eos Aduro August 1st, 2007 8:39 AM

Which would work, except that Hitmonlee's abilitiews are Limber and Reckless, no body risk. MAybe...

Hitmonlee
Limber - Jolly
Stone Edge
Blaze Kick
Bulk Up
Close Combat

Wait, what? It said it boost retalitory moves. I thought that was, I don't know, Reversal, Counter, Payback, etc?

Anti August 1st, 2007 2:14 PM

Either way the moveset should be:
~Insert strong fighting move here
~Blaze Kick
~EQ
~Stone Edge

I agree with this post by Iceman3k all the way. Iceman3k is One Experienced Player that i know. btw, Use Bulk up Obviously. since you already have Hi Jump Kick for that Set on Hitmonlee.

Lord Mike August 1st, 2007 2:57 PM

Hitmonlee @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Reckless
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
-Blaze Kick
-Stone Edge
-Earthquake
-Close Combat

'Nuff said.

Anti August 1st, 2007 3:00 PM

Lord Mike is right. That's the right moveset.

Eos Aduro August 1st, 2007 4:03 PM

Only one gaping hole of a problem, I can only get one earthquake TM, and I really need it for Metagross... Would this work?

Close Combat
Blaze Kick
Stone Edge
Bulk Up

Lord Mike August 1st, 2007 4:05 PM

Then you'll have to move some Attack EVs into HP and possibly Defense.

Earthquake isn't needed. Mach Punch or Bullet Punch in its place.

Anti August 1st, 2007 5:39 PM

That or bulk up. Can help his attacking power and might even allow him to last a hit!

Bulk Up wouldn't be any use on a Choice Scarf Hitmonlee.

Anti August 1st, 2007 5:43 PM

Good point. Scrap bulk up in that case.

Eos Aduro August 2nd, 2007 3:09 PM

Ok, so right now its

Blaze Kick
Bullet Punch
Stone Edge
Close Combat

Anti August 2nd, 2007 3:33 PM

Looks good to me. Nothing more to say here.

Samson August 2nd, 2007 4:45 PM

there's only one right way to use hitmonlee this gen:

Hitmonlee @ Choice Band
Careful Nature
240 ATK/152 SP DEF/116 SPD
-Close Combat
-Blaze Kick
-Stone Edge
-Earthquake

you bring him in to take a special hit, and use good prediction to fire a hard hit at what stays in or what switches in.

Iceman3k August 2nd, 2007 6:11 PM

k so like, why is Earthquake being mentioned on Hitmonlee again?
Last I remembered, Fighting Types have no use for Ground attacks.

Anti August 2nd, 2007 6:50 PM

Besides, if you actually read the posts above you'd know he doesn't have the earthquake TM. Bullet punch was the replacement. Any other suggestions for hitmonlee?
