[email protected]?
Timid nature
-Flamwthrower
-Dark Pulse
-Shadownall
-?
thx in advance

Anti July 31st, 2007 12:39 PM

Ghost and dark do pretty much the same thing except dark hits normal types. You could use the sunnybeamer set and dark pulse.

pokeflips July 31st, 2007 4:02 PM

I've got one with a hardy nature, (neutral), and I've got him set to learn Nasty plot/flamethrower/dark pulse/and somethin else I havent decided on yet. I would go with shadow ball, but my gengar knows it and I'm too lazy to find another tm.

Angelic Diablo July 31st, 2007 4:25 PM

You could try Hidden Power for the last move, I was lucky and managed to get HP Ice on my Houndoom

[email protected] Glasses
-Nasty Plot
-Flamethrower
-Dark Pulse
-HP Ice

PlayaFritz August 1st, 2007 6:36 PM

Well, here is the moveset on my Houndoom, would like a recomendation for an item as well, also my hidden power electric is bugging me, i think its a good type to have for him, but i think its a little weak, i think its power may be in the 50's, does that make a difference? Thx

Flamethrower
Dark Pulse
Nasty Plot
Hidden Power electric

Angelic Diablo August 1st, 2007 6:38 PM

well after one Nasty Plot. Hidden Power should be enough to take out the likes of Gyarados in a single hit regardless of its power (unless it is below 30, but I highly doubt it's that bad)

Akuchiki Byakuya August 1st, 2007 6:38 PM

I would go with

[email protected] sash
sunny day
solarbeam
flamethrower
shadow ball
timid
252 speed/252 special attack

Azonic August 1st, 2007 7:01 PM

I'd go Dark Pulse over Shadow Ball, I'm a fan of Nasty Plot Houndoom though.

Akuchiki Byakuya August 1st, 2007 7:04 PM

Well, nasy plot is a good new addition to houndoom so I guess it wouldn't do half bad.

Anti August 1st, 2007 7:10 PM

But houndoom can't take a hit...four attack moves might be best on doom if ya ask me.

Akuchiki Byakuya August 1st, 2007 7:11 PM

Which is why I suggested focus sash.

Anti August 1st, 2007 7:12 PM

Good point. Spikes or stelth rock ruin that though, so you'd need a rapid spinner.

Akuchiki Byakuya August 1st, 2007 7:13 PM

Unless you led your team with it. Of course I lead me team with blissey and I'm sure other people do too so it might not be a good idea.

Anti August 1st, 2007 7:16 PM

If not...Houndoom might not see the light of day long enough to deal some damage.

Akuchiki Byakuya August 1st, 2007 7:17 PM

Yeah, if it isn't hit with something first like seismic toss then focus sash really helps.

Anti August 1st, 2007 7:19 PM

If focus sash had a chance to save houndoom, one of my all-time favorites would have a field day on many pokemon unable to beat that special attack with nasty plot. Doom would be danger.

Akuchiki Byakuya August 1st, 2007 7:32 PM

It's definatly deadly when used right.

Lord Mike August 2nd, 2007 5:01 AM

My favorite one: SubPetayaDoom. Sub until Petaya activates and raises Special Attack.

Houndoom @ Petaya Berry
Trait: Flash Fire
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
-Flamethrower
-Substitute
-Dark Pulse
-Hidden Power [Fighting/Grass/Rock/Water] / Shadow Ball

Modest can also be used on that set.

Akuchiki Byakuya August 2nd, 2007 8:47 AM

No modest can't be used, you have to get timid in there so that it can outrun. That is the only thing that keeps houndoom alive is when it is fast enough to sweep.

Lord Mike August 2nd, 2007 9:59 AM

Oh, yeah, I forgot to say something: If you use Hidden Power make sure it has a Base Power of at least 60.

PlayaFritz August 2nd, 2007 10:37 AM

Well, somthing i just noticed... When comparing both my houndoom and my jolteon side by side, I noticed that my Jolteon is faster by quite a bit, and has more sp. attack. Houndoom on the other hand has more hp, and is double typed... My houndooms moveset is the same as above, with nastyplot... Jolteon's is Shadowball, Thunderbolt, and used to have sub and baton pass, but I have ninjask on my team for baton passing now, so i gues i should shoot for different moves. I gues what im trying to ask is, Who is fit for special sweeping better, Jolteon or Houndoom

Lord Mike August 2nd, 2007 10:49 AM

Jolteon is better. 'Nuff said.

PlayaFritz August 2nd, 2007 10:51 AM

k, Suggested moveset...?Mine is Modest natureed, and ev trained in speed and sp.attack...
