Snorlax and Waillord
Ok so my friend wants to get a tank on his team. He wnats to use Snorlax so what's the best nature/EV spread for it?
Also, I want to use Waillord as another addition to my Physical sweepers, if that's what he's used for. Would Adamant be the best nature? And how should his EV spread go? Oh and a moveset of course... Thanks! |

Careful Nature Trait: Thick Fat EVs: 252 HP, 148 Atk, 110 Sp Def -Earthquake/Crunch -Double Edge/Return/Body Slam -Rest -Sleep Talk Wailord Impish/Careful Nature Trait: Water Veil EVs: 252 Def (or Sp Def) 128 Atk, 128 HP -Waterfall -Body Slam/Double Edge -Rest -Sleep Talk Wow, they are way to similar and I didn't even aim for that. Oh well (All Wailords moves are Egg moves by the way) |
Wailord...no. If you really want to use him go ahead but it sucks. His base defense and special defense is 45 I believe, which is terrible. It has a shitload of HP, but like hariyama, it doesn't thave the D to back it up. Its attack stats are both good. It's also pretty slow too, so you'd probably be able to take only one hit at the mosy. Starmies and other common threats would blow this thing out of the water (no pun intended). If you want a bulky water try two of my favorites, swampert and kingdra.
As for snorlax, curselax is the best set. Snorlax is highly recommended. |
Ok then I guess Wailord is out of the question... He just looks so cool though, big ass whale n **** lol. Well who would be a good tank besides Snorlax?
|
Tank...Dusclops/dusknoir, registeel, umbreon kinda, and cradily are just a few tanks. Oh yeah and torkoal.
EDIT: I forgot ninjask! jk |

Ah, cradily. Wise choice. Here are good moves to consider:
~Recover ~Mirror Coat ~Barrier ~Amnesia ~Toxic ~Rest Just to name a few. With cradily, it's pick three tanking moves, an attack move and run like the wing. It can be either type of wall with the stat up moves or a pure tank. Haze can screw this though. Good news: suction cups prevent whirlwind and roar from not working. Yay! |

Oh boy. I'll give you three options:
Physical Wall: [email protected] Bold Nature EVs: 252 Defense, 252 HP, 6 Special Attack ~Barrier ~Recover ~Toxic ~HP Grass Special Wall: [email protected] Calm Nature EVs: 252 Special Defense, 252 HP, 6 Special Attack ~Amnesia/Mirror Coat ~Recover ~Toxic ~HP Grass/Mirror Coat Dual Wall/Tank: [email protected] Bold Nature EVs: 252 HP, 126 Special Defense, 126 Defense, 6 Special Attack ~Toxic ~Recover/Barrier/Amnesia ~HP Grass ~Barrier/Mirror Coat/Amnesia Unsure about the last moveset, but there ya' go. |
thanks dude. that helps a lot!
|
No problemo. I recommend the special wall (107 base Sp. D) with amnesia and mirror coat. Monsterous.
|
Milotic is a great annoying special wall.
|
Milotic is a pain to get though. Feebas took hours for me to find.
|
Well, once you get one, get a Ditto and BREED like you've never BRED before. That's the easy way...
And I don't mean to brag, but the 1st pokemon I found in Sapphire in the Feebas area was... Feebas!!! My luck... |

Well I hate to brin up tanks again but what about tangrowth?
|
As for cradily all of its defensive stats(including HP) are very good. You can use both barrier and amnesia to mega boost your D and put an attack move and ingrain/recover to make your cradily tank complete.

Oops, already sent you the message, says the same thing though.
|
So is this a good moveset then:
Amnesia Barrier Toxic Recover I want it to withstand a lot, be able to recover HP, and have a sick damage increasing poison move, but with this set it has no actual attack... Is mirror coat a better option? |
Take out a move for a move that actually does damage like rock slide. HP Fire or EQ are decent options. Maybe take out recover or toxic. It's your call.
