Sorry, but I have another short question.

I breeded a Skarmory with a Fearow, which should mean he should learn Drill Peck as an Egg Move... He wasn't born with it, so when can I expect him to learn it? Or am I doing it wrong again? :\

Eos Aduro August 27th, 2007 5:11 PM

Either the Fearow doesnt know Drill Peck, or you have a messed up game.

Only Males can pass on egg moves, so if the mom knows Drill Peck then her baby won't.

Zulen August 27th, 2007 6:37 PM

I see. Ahaha, I heard that somewhere the male needed to know the move, yet I was using a Skarmory male, and at the same time thinking "How the hell would a Skarmory know Drill Peck when I'm trying to breed someone who has it!". It never occured to me to just switch the damn genders of them.

Man, I hate using Heart Scales.

Thanks, guys, now I think I've got breeding and training down.

While fighting my rival's Staraptor at the fight area I used mean look, hoping to trap him and toxic his way to death but it used U-turn and MANAGED to escape!!!

So I was just wondering does baton pass and other escaping moves work if they are trapped by mean look and block? This could screw up a lot of strategies. >_>

I believe that Block and Mean Look only stops switching out by ordinary means (the trainer calls his/her Pokemon back). Also goes for Wynaut's Shadow Tag ability. I've tried this before.

P.S.: I've noticed this is your 3rd post in 3 years. /not stalker.

Jordan.

If I've EV trained my Pokemon but I haven't trained them to level 100 and I do a Level 100 battle over Wi-Fi will it ignore the EVs or will it make the stats what they actually would be if my Pokemon were level 100?

Your EVs will definately be calculated over Level 50 and 100 battles on Wifi.

Eh?! Sorry I've not been able to connect to WiFi play yet but WHAT? You mean they'll just zoom up to lv100 in WiFi? Should I even bother training the rest of my team to lv100 then?

That's right. Rather, you should just EV train, & level up so they can learn the proper moves.

Ya finally got me, but I was only listing a few examples. Spider Web comes to mind on a Mean Look move.

Jordan is right. My Jolteon has escaped a Dugtrio through the means of Baton Pass.

Are you sure it wasn't a Sand Veiling Dugtrio?

I should really stop trying to disprove my own point.

lol

It was the typical Choice Band trapping Dugtrio.

^ Laugh out loud indeed. Also, the instant lvl. 100 thing is a great way of recording your Pokemon stats and check for IV's. Pop in several baby Pokemon and record stats. These battles are referred to as IV battles.

Level up a Shroomish (not a Breloom) to level 54 (FR/LG,R/S/E) or 45 (D/P). People usually breed a male Pokemon in the same egg group that knows Spore with a female Shroomish that knows Spore to get a baby Shroomish that knows Spore. This way, you can evolve Shroomish into Breloom at level 23 without hesitation.

What does the term 'baton passer' mean?
What does the term 'baton passer' mean?
Passing stats effects, such as: Agility, Nasty Plot, Swords Dance, etc. Baton Passers are also known as "Bp'ers".

Jordan September 8th, 2007 8:14 AM

..and they all know the move Baton Pass. Usually, they are very quick or have high defenses. Baton Pass can also be used to get out of situations like Mean Look, Block,...etc.

Example 1: Ninjask (Speed Boost raises speed after everyturn)

Turn 1:
Ninjask used Protect
Ninjask protected itself from the foe's Fire Blast
Ninjask's Speed was raised by Speed Boost
Turn 2:
Ninjask used Baton Pass
Trainer sent in Metagross wtih Speed raised by one level.

Example 2:
Turn 1
Gliscor used Sword Dance, Attack Sharply Raised
Foe used Fire Fang, Gliscor survived
Turn 2
Gliscor used Baton Pass
Player sent in Heracross with Attack Sharply raised.

Or Vaporeon.

Example #2: Vaporeon Used Substitute, The opponent used (Instert move here). The Substitute took damage for Vaporeon. especially it has max hp, (404). Vaporeon used Baton pass.
