Weres Latias (Pokemon: Sapphire)

Which City is Latias in and which route is it?

Goblinaro August 2nd, 2007 7:03 AM

Oh my gosh! Okay, first off, check to see if this question has already been answered. Second, for those of you who are new here, this is the answer: Latias and Latios, depending on which game you have or with the exception of Emerald where you choose which one, It is RANDOM!! It will not stay in one place the entire time. It will keep moving around locations while you are, so if you find him, then you just happened to be in its area at that time. You won't find it there always.

Azonic August 2nd, 2007 7:05 AM

it could be anywhere-anytime.

Latias, along with pokemon like Latios, Cresselia, The legendary dogs, Mesprit, can roam along anywhere.

The run around so you have to chase it around the region. It only appears in the mainland and never in caves.

It is like one minute it is in Fortree City and the next minute it is in Fallarbor.

You have to chase it around until it stays in the same place where you are.

Yes, it gets annoying. I wouldn't try to chase it around because it just finds you somehow. If you chase it around, it will never stay in the same spot. I just found it without even trying to find it.

were did u find it? which route?

LethalTexture August 2nd, 2007 10:23 AM

Both times I found it, it was on Route 128, when I was just generally surfing from place to place and getting some more trainers in my Trainer's Eyes. As they say, it is random. It is made easier in DP with the Pokétch App (forget it's name), but, don't bother looking for it. It'll come to you eventually. Just make sure that you are prepared by training an Arena Trapper, such as Dugtrio (from FR/LG) or Flygon. Failing that, a Golbat with Mean Look. Or you could of course use your Master Ball.

Eruption August 2nd, 2007 10:25 AM

Didn't You just listen to them?

IT CAN BE ANYWHERE IN ANY ROUTE EXCEPT CAVES AND OTHER PLACES LIKE CAVES!

You just have to hunt it down, with luck as your ally.

Always and Never August 2nd, 2007 11:12 AM

It can even be in water, that's where I always find mine.

And you'll face Latias, since you have Sapphire.

Eruption August 2nd, 2007 11:14 AM

Yeah, I usually find in water.

Although, I had Latios because it was Ruby, maybe its different.

WarHawk August 2nd, 2007 11:26 AM

This should be in the Advanced Generations section

I think it changes places every time you change routes. If waht I'm saying here is true, you go to a placce where you can easily change routes, just put a lvl39 or 49 up front (don't know isf the [email protected] is lvl 40 or 50) and then you use the max repel. Walk around a bit, if you don't find it move a few steps, change routes and look there. And so on and so on. You'll get lucky eventually.

That's the best methode I can think of when trying to hunt it down.

were do u find flygon? wt route is he on?

lilninjapig August 3rd, 2007 8:15 AM

I don't know, but you need to get a Trapinch, and evolve it up to Vibrava ta Level 35, then evolve that to Flygon at Level 45.

Do you ever listen to what people tell you? You make 1 thread asking this, then you make another thread asking a different question. You can ask the question in this topic instead of making 2 threads asking easily solvable questions.

To answer your question about Flygon and Latias, Latias is found randomly and Flygon must be found from a trapinch (on route 111, the desert), then evolve it to vibrava then evolve it to flygon.

Rich Kyogre August 3rd, 2007 8:42 AM

oh thx but weres shelgon?

Random August 3rd, 2007 9:13 AM

you cant catch Shelgon, you have to evolve them from Bagon, which can only be caught at Meteor Falls.

Plus a hint, if you meet with Latias once, and fled, you can always track her with your pokedex in the area option.

Rich Kyogre August 4th, 2007 2:10 AM

I've just met her now on route 127

Ayano Katagiri August 4th, 2007 2:14 AM

Try this method from the FAQ for catching the Latis if you still have problems tracking them down and battling it afterwards.

Shuko's (not really; I read it somewhere, but can't remember where) Method of Catching Latios/Latias

Requirements:
-Acro Bike
-At least 1 Defeat of the Elite 4
-At least 1 Max Repel
-Something hard and heavy that you can place on a single button of your GameBoy:P

Method:
Here's what you do. After you've defeated the E4, go to any patch of grass (really, it doesn't matter where) in Hoenn and use your Max Repel. Equip your Acro Bike. Then, place your heavy object on your Game Boy in such a way that it holds down only the B button. Watch the screen and make sure that your character is bunny hopping, but is remaining in the same spot. He is? Great. Now leave your Game Boy alone for an hour or two. No, I'm not kidding. Go away for a good long while, and then come back. Don't bother watching, 'cause this method usually takes time to work. Anyway, when you come back, you (Should) have run into Latios/Latias.

Here's why it works:
Latias/Latios works in much the same way that the Legendary dogs did in G/S/C. He/She changes regions frequently, and will do so even if you stay in one region all the time. This method works on the theory that, if you wait in one region long enough, he/she'll eventually meander into it, and then you'll encounter the wily Pokemon. The Max Repel will keep other Pokemon away from you, and the bunny hopping simulates walking through the grass without wasting steps and exhausting your Max Repel.

So now you should have run into the elusive Latios/Latias. What happens next is up to you. I always used a master ball, because I hate chasing them around. But if you want to do it the hard way, just remember that once you've run into Latios/Latias, you can track him/her but everytime you go to a different location the location for [email protected] will change - look at the area page for that Pokemon in your 'Dex. It'll show the current location of him/her. Of course, this is provided you don't make him/her faint. That's it, people. Happy hunting!
