Good ideas for natures. I personally would like to have an Adamant Staraptor. But I gues Dialga and Luxray do a good job too. Are there any Pokemon on my team that you would replace?

Nope, they're Good. but there is one thing i would like to say. you're using Uu/Bl, Ou, and Uber at the Same Time. just use one type of Pokemon. Ou Means Overused, Bl means Borderline, and Uu means Underused.

Rayl August 2nd, 2007 12:56 PM

personally, I don't care which pokemon are Ou, uu and borderline. Or uber.
To be honest, I use whichever pokemon appeal to me the most.
But thats just me throwing in my opinion :]

Akuchiki Byakuya August 2nd, 2007 1:28 PM

Okay first of all floatsal does not get timid, it gets jolly because of it's nice attack it just needs more physical moves, infernape gets naive, staraptor gets jolly not adament.

Anti August 2nd, 2007 2:04 PM

We have one "minor" problem. This team has NO walls, or any stat up or status moves. Who uses fly? Well anyways, this team needs some defensive oriented pokemon like steelix, blissey (groan), or dusknoir. Besides rain dance and swords dance, all attack moves, BAD strategy. Mystic water is an absolutely horrific item, trash it. Using two moves of the same type on one pokemon is really pointless. That's my take on the team.

Akuchiki Byakuya August 2nd, 2007 2:18 PM

ACtually, I think this an elite four team so yeah, that's why there aren't any walls.

Anti August 2nd, 2007 2:22 PM

If it's for the elite four it'll be fine. Just curious, but aren't we only supposeed to post team for competitiive battles? If this is a competitive team work is needed.

jb0000612 August 2nd, 2007 2:42 PM

Gee...

Gee, all your comments make sense. I feel stupid. I just thought maybe to use Pokemon of all different types would be a better battle advantage. Sorry if you hate it.

Vainz August 2nd, 2007 2:52 PM

Hey guys, when it is obvious that the guy is new (cough* Post Count), then just tell him how things usually work. Let me do the honors. Here is how you should post your pokes from now on:

[email protected] Item
EVs
Nature
-Attacks
-
-
-

A good team usually has at least two walls (pokes for defensive purposes). There is at least one physcial Sweeper and one Sp.Sweeper on the team, and the rest is up to preference usually. Dont use Ubers on your team, which means that the total Base stats of a pokemon excede 600.

jb0000612 August 2nd, 2007 2:55 PM

Thanks for informing me!

Thanks for the info. I'll keep that in mind. And I'm glad to be on PokeCommunity Forums!

What does post count have to do with this? Does that mean I should consider you a new member?

You have a interesting team of pokemon. But for a basic metagame. I would suggest that you would re breed them with better natures and focus on the strong and weak points of your team. Also replacing Dialga.

Anti-Pop Culture Warrior 13: This is not only for competitive battles.

Also, welcome to PC. =D

Vainz August 2nd, 2007 3:15 PM

I am sorry if i offened anyone by saying that his Post Count was low because he is new. I know post counts often have nothing to do with wether or not a person is experinced or not. I was merely suggesting that in this instance it was obvious that he was new to the thread, and yes, i used the post count to tell me that, but i could also tell by the way he was choosing his pokemon. I was only tring to help Bleach and Sunshine.

I would suggest getting rid of Staraptor and Dailga, and putting in two walls. Here are some of the more common choices:

Blissey //Sp.Wall
Skarmory //Physical
Milotic //Depends, mainly Sp.Wall
Bronzong //Both
Umbreon //Depends, but can be both, Mainly Sp.Wall

Here are some less common choices, but still good ones:

Tangrowth //Physical
Dusknoir //Both
Snorlax //Sp.Wall

Some of them are Physical Walls, and some are Sp.Walls. You should probably have one of each. Blissey and Skarmory is always a good combo.

jb0000612 August 2nd, 2007 3:16 PM

Thanks!

Thank you for the warm welcome. And as for Dialga, that's a logical but tough decision. It's the only Pokemon with Dragon, Ground, and Steel types on my team, and I want to have as many type moves as possible. Are there any Legendaries, however, that would be a better choice, such as Cresselia?

Anti August 2nd, 2007 3:29 PM

Any legendary that isn't uber is fine. The legendary dogs (minus entei) are good choices. Suicune could be a wall with 115 base in both defenses (that's very good). Other good walls:

Physical
~Regirock
~Registeel
~Steelix
~Aggron
~Tangrowth
~The ever popular Skarmory
~Torkoal

Special:
~Regice
~Registeel
~Milotic
~Gardevoir
~Tentacruel
~Snorlax
~The best, Blissey

Just some good walls off the top of my head. Make sure you post EV spreads. If ya don't know what EVs and IVs are, there are several online guides to help. There's also a very helpful one here at PC.

Roles for the last two slots:
Baton Passer-Umbreon
Rapid Spinner-Blastoise
Spiker/SRer-Skarmory
Cleric-Blissey
Annoyer/Tank-Milotic

There are several more I can't remember. Check out the team-building guide. The pokemon listed are just examples of the type of pokemon listed. If you already know this implement it into your team and you're off and running.

Akuchiki Byakuya August 2nd, 2007 5:00 PM

Actually I don't think you can rule out blissey as a physicla wall also, just ask ZERO LOVE what my blissey did to her garchomp and salamence.(it massacred them)And yes it was a physical attacking salamence.

jb0000612 August 5th, 2007 4:02 PM

I have to say...

I like all your suggestions. However, there are some things I would like to point out. Blissey, for starters, has good Defense, but it always uses recovery moves, which makes the battle long and irritating. Steelix could easily be taken down by a Water type Pokemon. Skarmory would have nightmares against an Electric Pokemon. What the goal of my team is is to have as many moves of different types as possible. For example, Dialga can take out Steel, Fire, Rock, and Electric types with Earth Power(though I may want to reteach it Dragon Claw on account of its high attack).

Shiraishi August 5th, 2007 4:54 PM

Dont forget cradily, togekiss and forretress :O Those are my walls(cradily is backup)Um, yea ur comment.. it makes no sense. Blissey has HORRIBLE def. Blissey is supposed to be used when ur opponent sends out a pokemon with high SP atk.

Infernape Lv. 81 Item: Choice Band/Life Orb
Adamant Nature
Blaze Kick / Fire Punch / Flame Wheel / Flare Blitz
Close Combat
Earthquake
Stone Edge

Infernape can hardly take a hit. So why would you put SD on there?

Dialga Lv. 81 Item: Adamant Orb
Modest/Timid Nature
Dragon Pulse
Flash Cannon
Aura Sphere
Ice Beam

At least you had the right item. =/ Anyway, a good Dialga should NEVER have a -Special Attack nature. A base Special Attack of 150 isn't really something to waste. Dialga's cheap, but if you're using it, be sure it also knows Flash Cannon to take advantage of the STAB and Adamant Orb. Ice Beam for take out more types, and Aura Sphere for Steel-types.

Luxray Lv 81 Item: Choice Scarf
Adamant Nature
Spark
Ice Fang
Crunch
Fire Fang

Spark>T-Fang since Spark has more PP and better accuracy (and same exact BP). Fire Fang owns Magneton and Steelix and all those other guys.

Roserade Lv 81 Item: Petaya Berry
Timid Nature
Giga Drain / Magical Leaf
Sludge Bomb
Substitute
Shadow Ball

SubPetayaRade PWNS!

Staraptor Lv 81 Item: Choice Band
Jolly Nature
Aerial Ace / Wing Attack
Close Combat
Steel Wing
Return

Wing Attack is better for more PP. Worst Staraptor ever.

Floatzel Lv 81 Item: Choice Band
Adamant/Jolly Nature
Aqua Jet
Brick Break
Ice Fang
Crunch

I lol at your movesets so much...

Well, that's my team.

Horrible. Half of your team only works well as Choice Banders. Its all offense, no defense at all; no walls. You need a lot of improvement.

jb0000612 August 5th, 2007 6:36 PM

I like your suggestions. I just wish I'd thought about natures when I caught my Pokemon. (sigh) I feel so lousy. When I get my USB, I'll get Wi-Fi and see how my team does.
