Bastiodon>>>>>>>>>

Bastiodon is a pokemon that i am considering for a phsycial wall. Im not sure what the moveset should be, so could some one help. Also, if you have any pokemon that would make a good physical wall other than Bastiodon, that is NOT weak to Ice or Elec, than please tell me.

Hmmm, for another physical wall not with KO'd by ice and electric, maybe Steelix? Or is he Ice damaged? Found one, Torkoal.

Here's a Bastiodon set:

Bastiodon @ Leftovers
Brave / Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 ATK / 6 DEF
- Curse
- Stone Edge
- Taunt
- Metal Burst

But yeah, if you want one not weak to ice and electric attacks then Torkoal is the Pokemon that fits that description. For a moveset, I think:

Torkoal @ Leftovers
Relaxed / White Smoke
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Sp. ATK / 6 DEF
- Toxic
- Will-O-Wisp
- Flamethrower
- Explosion

Torkoal sounds pretty good. What about a rapid spinner Torkoal?

I cant make up my mind. People, should i use Torkoal or Bastiodon?

Shiraishi August 3rd, 2007 6:49 PM

Bastidon is a failure of physical wall. He has a 4x weakness to ground which is incredibly common. Not even his amazing def can withstand 2-3 STABd Earthquakes.

Roihu August 3rd, 2007 6:49 PM

Well Bastiodon pretty much fails to EQ haven't really checked Torkoal... P.S wouldn't you be ok with using a legendary like Regirock/Cresselia? And can't Electivire learn EQ? (Not sure)

Extric August 3rd, 2007 6:52 PM

Rapid Spin Torkoal isn't good at all since he's week to Stealth Rock, but if you want his set here it is:

Torkoal @ Leftovers
Relaxed / White Smoke
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Sp. ATK / 6 DEF
- Rapid Spin
- Rest / Explosion
- Sleep Talk / Toxic
- Lava Plume

Shiraishi August 3rd, 2007 6:52 PM

Any physical that is weak to EQ fails. End of story. Oh and yes electivre can learn EQ

Roihu August 3rd, 2007 6:54 PM

Actually using Regirock (Maybe better after a tyranitar) is an awesome use of the new 50% raise in sp defense.

Vainz August 3rd, 2007 6:56 PM

Ok, how about a physcial wall that isnt weak to EQ. Just ignor the earlier comments about how it has to not be weak to Ice and Elec. How about an Umbreon? I was going to suggest Dusknoir, but the more i suggest him, the more i hear about his HP not making him worth it.

Roihu August 3rd, 2007 6:58 PM

His low HP is I think for Pain Split right?
Umbreon I'm pretty sure is good for a wall...though I haven't gone much into him so I can't say completely. And Cresselia is also good, or Skarm/Bliss.

Shiraishi August 3rd, 2007 8:24 PM

Cresselia is an amazing wall, Forretress is good too :D

why ice and electric? blastoise is weak to electric but electivire thunderpunch takes less than half of its hp, not counting leftover heals. in turn blastoise' surf does more damage to electivire. i'm not suggesting blastoise but i'm just saying, if a pokemon is meant to be a physical wall then it'll get the job done despite its weakness.

take steelix. it's weak to neither ice or electric but it's weak to earthquake, yet because of its stellar base defense it can take a couple of earthquakes like they're nothing. I think steelix is an excellent physical wall. there are a lot to choose from really. dusknoir is another good one(and common too)
