Manaphy moveset

Im having trouble with it....What moves should it have and should i keep Heart Swap?

.Aero August 5th, 2007 9:52 AM

I use a Rest and Rain Dance combo for two moves. You're gonna want Tail Glow most likely, unless you have a Nasty Plot Baton Passer, and a water move at the least. My Manaphy sux though, so it may not be the best move set. XD

Manaphy is an uber now.. focus on its defense so it can take hits while it uses tailglow to power up, while using rest+rain dance to recover hp to full health whenever needed, then just sweep away.

[email protected] rock
Hydration
Bold
252hp 200def 58spdef
-rain dance
-rest
-tail glow
-surf

you can also have him on a rain dance team in which case use ice beam or energy ball over rain dance for type coverage.

If you use Restdance, I suggest you have more than one attacking move. Though it may be hard to squeeze in.

Manaphy is viewed as an Uber and an OU by different people. I think most people consider the Manaphy with Rain Dance as Uber.

I use this set on Manaphy and it does really well:

Manaphy @ Leftovers
Hydration / Timid Nature
EVs: 252 Sp. ATK / 252 SPD / 6 HP
- Tail Glow
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Grass Knot

I find it funny how you guys/girls post natures. That's kinda funny to me. Tail Glow is basically a must without a batton passer, so make room for that. Maybe you could have a different Rain Dancer to open up a slot for like c dog said, Ice Beam. I would suggest Ludicolo as the Rain Dancer cuz he has obscure weaknesses most people don't know about, and his ability (don't know if he still has it anymore) Rain Dish can restore it's HP when it's out.

Azonic August 5th, 2007 10:28 AM

Manaphy w/ Tail Glow is the Uber reason, that and lack of weaknesses.

alright you sound like you're trying to "one up" whatever i have to say :/ last i checked you're still one of the worst battlers on this site so maybe you should keep some of your suggestions to yourself. the only way to squeeze in another attacking move is to have rain dance on someone else, and i already provided that option. and trust me, most teams don't carry a pokemon with water absorb.

.Aero August 5th, 2007 11:27 AM

That's the reason I suggested Ludicolo for rain dance. He could also provide a grass type move for you, another powerful water, and I don't know...Toxic? XD I don't use manaphy much though. I don't like legendaries as much as I used to.
