I gave up my floatzel for my palkia. Even though i loved my floatzel so much, it was a great pokemon i had it since i started the game. I hope i made the right decision.

What do you think of my pokemon team. I updated it. So on the scale of 1 to 10(10 being the best) how would you rate my pokemon and why did you give them that rating.

I hear my pokemon need training. Which is best way to train my pokemon to 50? Right now, i'm going to Sunyshore city for the final gym battle.

I know my pokemon suck, is there any way to make it better? What level should they be at this point?

I need tips, I played every version of pokemon and realized i still suck at it.

I'm new to this forum, I'm also looking for new friends, who are into pokemon. add me to msn messenger, [email protected]

Thanks!

well you could try rebreeding for natures and EV train them, and get rid of the palkia, he will never be able to be used in wireless/tournament battles.

I gave ur team a 1. Get rid of palkia because no1 uses ubers in competetive battling(cept for the uber tier). I dont like lucario as a special sweeper, but ur team is so physical attacker oriented that I had no choice. Also, you need a wall/tank/BPer/Hazer/Phazer/cleric..ANYTHING like that. check gamefaqs. there is a FAQ on competetive battling terms.

BrainDamage August 8th, 2007 7:19 AM

I COMPLETELY agree with cakekun

Don't feel bad. For someone who's dedicated to Pokemon, you are a true champion. Don't let anyone tell you any different.

For Floatzel, after you've beaten the game, I'd replace Strength with Ice Beam. And after you've used up all Surf possibilities, replace that with Rain Dance(Increases Floatzel's Speed and Water moves, try using that when its HP is low with Brine)

Palkia is great. When you come of time, replace one of its moves with Earth Power to take down Electric, Fire, Rock, Poison, and Steel types.

Give Infernape Stone Edge to replace Rock Smash. If you want, add in Swords Dance.

Luxray specializes in attack. If you want, substitue Thunder for something hard-hitting.

Lucario is OK. Replace Rock Climb with Metal Claw(Only after you've beaten the game).

Staraptor is awesome. Teach it Pluck in place for Defog. You won't need it much.

Anyways, keep training! I believe in your strengths!

Shiraishi August 8th, 2007 7:46 AM

..whatever you do do not listen to him. You will be destroyed not only by people but the battle tower. Losing to an AI in pokemon is incredibly sad(in my opinion) Im not saying I always won, but after losing I improved my team and my winning streak became higher. Use my suggestions. If you wanna know how to get those moves use serebii.net and use their pokedex.

jb0000612 August 8th, 2007 8:08 AM

Alright! That's enough. My team is not weak, it is not a losing team, and it is a team I worked very hard on!So the next time anyone wants to bash my team with their insults, keep it to yourselves!

Secondly, there is a function called Pokemon of The Week, but they haven't done Lucario, Floatzel, Staraptor, or Luxray yet. They post a new Pokemon every Sunday.

What do you think of this....

Floatzel lvl 37

Brine ---> Ice Fang
Strength---> Rain Dance
crunch
Surf

Infernape lvl 39

Rock Smash----> Sunny Day
I think I'll keep flame wheel(when my pokemon freezes i use flame wheel to defrost it)
close combat-----> FlameThrower
MachPunch

Staraptor lvl 38

Defog---> Agility(41)-----> BraveBird
fly
Close combat
aerial ace

Sneazel lvl 38

FaintAttack
Shadowclaw
Agility
Ice Punch-----> Avalance(it's a physical attack)

Luxray lvl 38

Spark----> ThunderFang---> VoltTackle
Charge
Thunder-----> ThunderBolt
Crunch

Lucario lvl 41

Return
RockClimb-----> Psychic,GyroBall,(which one is better)
AuraSphere
SwordsDance

this was my idea (execpt for the guy who told me to replace spark with Thunderfang)

What do you think?

sims796 August 8th, 2007 8:14 AM

I agree with Cakerun. No one called you weak, but if your playing with your favs, no reason you can't play right. I'm sure jb0000's "you're a champion" speech lifted your spirits, but seriously. There's a line with playing with favs, and playing with favs right.

Now for Floatzel, realize his atk is much higher than atk, so teach him Ice Fang over Ice Beam.

Unless your playing with your friends, no one will play you with Palkia. He is way too naturally strong, even without your training. Only rookies rely on ubers, and they should only be used in other uber matches, like Mewtwo, Dalgia, Kyogre, etc.

Sorry, Lucario is looking awful, just awful. I don't use it much, but Return is only useful on Normal types. Sneasel uses physical moves.

You have to pay attention to your pokes stats. Just blindly giving them moves won't help. You can play with favs, just play right. I'll get someone to correct movesets, but I can't do it now.
jb0000, stop giving advice if you can't give it right. You will only hurt the person your helping.

EDIT: BLUE, THATS NOT LOOKING TOO GOOD EITHER, BUT AT LEAST YOU TRIED.

jb0000, don't rely on poke of the week to make a team. It's helpful, but you'll be waiting a good while to make a team. You can do the reasearch, like everyone else on this site did.

Shiraishi August 8th, 2007 8:19 AM

Oh my god, its a person who knows what they're doing (sims) :D
Since you handled his 'movesets' I'll use this post to deflate Jb's ego. I'll battle you my incomplete team if you'd like. FC is in my trainer card.

jb0000612 August 8th, 2007 8:24 AM

I've been a Pokemon fan since the day it arrived in USA 1996, and I know that I have some authority on this subject. Gyro Ball is good for Lucario, and so is Psychic. Just make sure you're satisfied with your choice. Thunder Fang is perfect for Luxray's attack stat.

Sunny Day is a nice choice, but it won't be necesary for Infernape. Close Combat is a great move, so you keep that with Infernape. But I would suggest replacing Flame Wheel with Flamethrower. Floatzel is good. Keep it that way. Palkia is OK to keep. Ignore all this "Ubers are illegal" business. There are rooms in the Wi-Fi place that let you use Legendaries.

now, one last thing to all those out there. I wasn't just acting when I said my speech. I meant it. This guy loves Pokemon and if he works at training and strategy, he could very well be one of the most powerful trainers on this forum. BlueLucario, I wish you good luck with your training.

BlueLucario August 8th, 2007 8:24 AM

If i must get rid of palkia, can i use it as my HM slave, or a tool for the elite four?

sims796 August 8th, 2007 8:25 AM

I didn't do movesets, I can't on the Wii, but he has to know that using a poke is different than using a poke right. I only use my favs, OU or not. But I made them great. I take the effort to EV train, and make countless eggs to make a great winning team of favs. So don't try that "you can be a winner if you be yourself". You can be yourself & work hard.

When I get Wi-Fi, you're on my first challengers list. I look forward to battling you.

Shiraishi August 8th, 2007 8:27 AM

ONCE AGAIN. IGNORE HIM. As for palkia use it for uber tier. BUT FIRST, make a OU tier team. You have no authority at all jb, as you are not a good trainer D: Just use my movesets. it will end all this crap.

EDIT: I look forward to it. I'll have a new team by then. We play by standard rules. Cept for item clause, who uses that?

Were not flaming, but simply, he's giving bad advice. That can really hurt you. Saying Floatzel was looking good when it clearly wasn't won't help you. It'll only send you to war ill prepared. I've asked Smarties-kun to explain it to him-he doesn't tolerate bad advice.

EDIT:He's thinking this is like the show-just push the poke & it'll suceed. But its not. You gotta use a poke right to suceed, not just use it however.

Shiraishi August 8th, 2007 8:37 AM

Eh, lucario..If you wanted help you would use what me and sims gave you. Not make up stuff. Dont be ungrateful.

Sorry, ma'am. I guess I just got a little mad a Cakekun all of a sudden. I didn't feel like I was a good trainer, so I started fighting that feeling with retaliation. Sorry if you felt awkward with all that anger going on. Anyways, I'll say this again. You are a good trainerette. You trust in your pokemon, and you know when to come to others for help. I'd like to face you in the WiFi Battle Room sometime.

Shiraishi August 8th, 2007 8:41 AM

If you aren't a good trainer, thats what the section is made for. Post ur team and I'll be glad to put suggestions. Just dont bash them >.> My team was created 3 days ago using my favs and some OU pokemon. I asked for help, I got help and I used that help.

Shinji_ August 8th, 2007 8:41 AM

That team is okay for in game, but not for competitive I think it needs ALOT OF work as alot of people are mentioning its a kinda useless team.

Shiraishi August 8th, 2007 8:45 AM

Actually its bad for in-game too. Here is a nice example.

Weavile used Ice beam!
garchomp survived..
Garchomp used Brick break!
Weavile fainted!

And thats assuming she evolves it.

The Garchomp is cynthia's.

Now I'm starting to feel angry. How dare you. Your not helping her AT ALL. She's gonna go out, and get ripped apart following your advice. She can "trust" all she wants, but I repeat, THIS IS NOT THE TV SHOW!. It is NOT that simple. Take Cakekun's advice. He is actually helping. You must use your skills to suceed, the pokemon will respond to what you do. If an attack will knock it out, there is no "just hang in there!".

Listen to Shinji-he speaks the truth.

Sorry CakeKUN-Corrected. jb0000, I don't think your a bad trainer. You have to give USEFUL advice, or your only hurting BlueLucario.

Shiraishi August 8th, 2007 8:58 AM

..Unless they have a focus sash :D My fingers feel wasted from posting those movesets D: Oh and btw im CakeKUN o.o I dont run for cake..or do I..

BlueLucario August 8th, 2007 8:59 AM

At most, I agree with CakeKun. Thanks.

I learn that I can't just mindlessly teach pokemon moves, I have to know their stats.(sims)

- Don't bother using a legendary, since nobody ever uses them. (CakeKun)

- To CakeKun, I didn't think a pokemon's nature matters.

Thanks guys.

anything else? keep your advice coming.
