Will the price of "Emerald" GBA game ever be lowered?

$34.99 seems a little steep for a Game Boy Advance game. I mean yes, I did pay $29.99 for the Sapphire edition, but still.....I want the Emerald edition (for the Teddiursa) but I can't really justify paying $35.

Is there any chance the game's price will be lowered soon?

Vavavoom ♣ August 11th, 2007 8:31 AM

Here, in Ottawa, it's currently 27.99$. So... I can't really complain... <- ^^

yoshikiller995 August 11th, 2007 9:07 AM

If you want it cheaper, buy it used.

But that's Canadian money. Too bad I don't know the exchange rate.

I've been to several Game Stop locations and viewed their selection of used GBA Games. None of them have Emerald. And usually when they are used, from what I know about used games, they don't have the manual. For Emerald, especially for the info about the battle frontier, I would consider the manual essential.

Oh well, I guess I might be able to get it @ Best Buy if I'm lucky. I have a coupon I could use that's good off video games. Or I can try Walmart, where its a tad cheaper ($33.88 in my area).

Pokefan2008 August 11th, 2007 9:50 AM

the manual is not that important it dosent even talk abot the battle fronteir

The Canadian dollar's pretty good now. So it's just under $27 US. o.o Assuming you're in the states.

Where are you looking? Like others said, it tends to be cheaper at stores like Wal-Mart, and if you can get it used, it'll be even less. Otherwise, you might have to wait until they declare a price drop on it as a best seller or something, which I'm surprised they haven't done yet.

All you need to know about the battle frontier.

i really wish the price of emerald would go down. i always walk into gamestop hoping to find a cheap emerald and i look in the used box and all there is is sapphire and ruby... for 25 bucks each

Leon K. Fox August 11th, 2007 1:08 PM

I'm gettin' it off Ebay myself, if the seller's good it will be almost as good quality and much cheaper, same for Fire Red

You and me are exactly the same then. :surprised:

I've wanted Emerald for a while, exclusively for Teddiursa. Crazy.

Anyway, yeah, a used copy, ebay, or Amazon might be your best bet. I'd already have Emerald if I had the right stuff to buy online.

Ninja Monkey August 11th, 2007 6:29 PM

You have to be careful when buying off of ebay, a lot of those tend to be bootleg copies.

C Sherbii S August 11th, 2007 7:34 PM

Just save up your money and buy it new. That way Nintendo and GameFreak make money off of it.

Worst they could be just be selling you a hand made gba flash cart with a rom inside of it, i heard people get problems from migrating those into D/P. So just wait and buy the real emerald at any gamestop, your best chance is buying it used.

PoisonOwnzYou August 13th, 2007 8:00 AM

I'm sure in a couple of months it will go down a couple of bucks. That's the way economy works. If you dont want to wait that long, you could always buy it off e-bay. Or you could use an ROM, but it could lead to problems if you dont have a cartridge. I would suggest saving up your money and buying it that way.

I got mine off ebay for only $15 buy it now, i don't think the seller knew very much about the games though, anyway if you buy off ebay don't buy from the seller that are from the asian counries, I bought a ruby version that was a fake. I was mad to say the least.

Well that must of been lucky, hopefully its not a fake also ^-^' But yeah i totally agree you about not buying gba games from asain countries, cause they're more likely to give you a flash cart with a rom in it, and more likely a fan-hack then a regular rom. Dont be fooled by it.

Leon K. Fox August 14th, 2007 3:22 AM

Just make sure they're selling the box, that at least somewhat increases the chances it's real right? (I only bid on ones were the cart AND box are shown myself)

Xoo August 14th, 2007 5:19 AM

I got mine the day it came out, and even then it was around 35$. So I doubt it'll be lowered. Sorry for being negative.

Most GBA games start out at $35 and get cheaper after time.

That's for the DS games. I remember that few years ago, when I bought the GBA Pokemon Games, they were over 40.00 bucks. <~

Shinji_ August 14th, 2007 4:17 PM

Emerald was Intensly lowered o_O down here when it first came out it was like 50-60dolllars from what I remember so 34dollars is a big discount o_o

Ninja Monkey August 14th, 2007 4:32 PM

I got extremely lucky, the guy i bought it from said the game was given to him and he didn't have any kids so I guess he just didn't know how popular the games were and thank god it wasn't a fake either.
