I need a good Status inflictor

Which pokemon would be good for status inflicting more-so for sleep

i want Spore 100% accuracy to sleep, but I dont know which is the best pokemon to get that on .. help?

Azonic August 11th, 2007 4:42 PM

If you're lucky enough to squeeze in a Spore on Breloom, then it would be a really good sweeper. But most prefer Choice Scarf.

Parasect has somewhat of a well rounded stat spread.

And Theres also Smeargle, but it sucks like hell.

Feuerbach August 11th, 2007 4:46 PM

From what I have gathered, Paras (Parasect), Shroomish (Breloom) and Smeargle are the only ones that can know Spore.

You can also try a Pokemon with the Compoundeyes ability, which gives +30% Accuracy to attacks, making things like Sleep Powder 100% effective. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Pokemon with Compoundeyes are Butterfree, Nincada, Venonat and Yanma.

Good luck!

Is this for competetive battling or ZOMGIHAFTACATCHDISLEGENDARY?

If its the latter, breloom hands down.

If it's competetive battling a wall/status inflinctor should be good. (like blissey)

bossman34 August 11th, 2007 6:45 PM

spore on breloom with jask support.

newjacksm August 11th, 2007 7:12 PM

should I work the EV's on a breloom Speed and Attack Jolly Nature?

And how would you be able to counter a breloom just for future refrence with Spore??

This is for competitive

Shiraishi August 11th, 2007 7:38 PM

Thats why sleep clause was made. Just save spore for the walls and attack the rest(and hopefully OHKO.)

newjacksm August 11th, 2007 7:44 PM

oh so sleep is banned for competitive?

Shiraishi August 11th, 2007 7:49 PM

Depends on the person you play.

newjacksm August 11th, 2007 7:50 PM

I know its really cheap.. ha, but I went againts my friend the other day and all he did was put me to sleep and it pissed me off.. so all I want to do is either counter it, or make a better guy for the next time I go against him.

Shiraishi August 11th, 2007 8:00 PM

Just get a cleric on ur team(Someone to heal status conditions) Good clerics include: Blissey, Miltank, Meganium..

c_dog August 11th, 2007 8:05 PM

sleep clause is a must because otherwise pokemon becomes a "who can make other pokemon fall asleep faster" and "whose pokemon sleeps longer" kind of contest. even if you use sleep talk there's a chance sleep talk won't use the right moves(say curselax use rest or return on a gengar instead of curse when it sleep talks). the battles just come down to luck.

breloom is the best spore user, but a yanmega is the fastest sleep inducer. yanmega with hypnosis in a battle without sleep clause is just gay.

newjacksm August 11th, 2007 8:11 PM

I agree, I am still pissed at my friend what a fag.
"oh I dont want a loss on my record"

Samson August 11th, 2007 8:13 PM

use lum berry on one of your physical sweepers, preferably someone who has swords dance if you want to counter sleep hax.

an effective counter that also works for basically every other status ailment.

c_dog August 11th, 2007 10:25 PM

yea, lum berry works.

lum berry doesn't work that well against fast sleep inducers like yanmega though. you really only have one chance to beat it as lum berry only works once, and unless you OHKO it's just going to use hypnosis again and you'll be asleep for good. yanmega's pretty bulky so not every pokemon can take it down in one hit without the help of stealth rock. like i said, yanmega without sleep clause is pretty gay. i'm sure you weren't exactly happy either when you played ooka's yanmega without sleep clause, no?

Yeah, but its mean when a Gengar goes first against Blissy, Miltank, or Meganium and use Hypnosis :D
