    Well, everytime a battle ends, a routine somewhere around 10:6200 is executed which checks whether certain pokemon can/will evolve or not.
    Not sure if this has anything to do with that routine specifically, but if so, it probably only loads stone evolution data properly for 3 evolutions and ignores the ones following that (although they "work").

    You could try checking it out since it could make sense that there is some instruction such as "ld b, 03" there and call to some subprogram which actually does all the work (and decrements b along the way), or something totally different but you get the idea

    10:6232 seems about right for starting a subroutine for checking: "Which is the current evolution method?".
