Insane Breeding Projects of Fun


Ever wonder what kind of steps and work go into IV breeding? Well, you're in the wrong place. Here, you'll be getting a brief in depth look at how I overcomplicate my breeding projects as much as possible. What? Some of these aren't competitively viable? Who cares, it's all for fun and aesthetics anyways. Below you'll find a key to how I've structured my layout that will be color coded by line to help you see:

Got all that? Good, now for the explanations of everything. I hope the color coding isn't blinding you:
Dex Number: The Pokemon's number in the National Pokedex.
‌• Species: What Pokemon am I breeding? (Click on the link here to go to Serebii's Gen VI page for it.
‌• Ball Type: Everything I breed is a female so that the Ball will always pass on. (Click on the link here to go to a direct image link)
‌• Species Inheritance: Included to cover everything, just the main female (sometimes male or genderless) parent.
‌• Ball Inheritance: Where did the Ball female come from? Is it an exclusive?
‌• Nature: What nature will this Pokemon have?
‌• Ability: What ability will this Pokemon have?
‌• IVs: What Individual Value spread will this Pokemon have?
‌• HP Type if any: Will this Pokemon have a specific Hidden Power? If so, what?
‌• Nature Inheritance: How will I breed on the nature?
‌• Ability Inheritance: Ability 0? 1? or is it the Hidden Ability?
‌• IVs Inheritance: What parent(s) will I be using to breed on the Individual Value spread?
‌• Move 1, 2, 3, 4: I try to only pass on Egg Moves, TM (maybe HM) Moves, and Specific Level Up Moves
‌• Move 1, 2, 3, 4 Inheritance: Where am sourcing these moves? Egg? TM/HM? Level up? Tutor? Etc.

Dex Number: #074 in the National Dex, #009 in the Mountain Kalos Dex, #031 in the Sinnoh Dex, #034 in the Johto Dex, and #057 in the Hoenn Dex.
‌• Species: That rock thing with two arms y'know? Click [here].
‌• Ball Type: Click [here].
‌• Species Inheritance: Just a Geodude.
‌• Ball Inheritance: I caught this one in my SoulSilver, the only game you can find Apricorn Balls in aside from its counterpart HeartGold.
‌• Nature: Atk up, SpAtk down.
‌• Ability: Sturdy would allow it to survive any OHKO moves.
‌• IVs: The random Sudowoodo I needed for moves just so happened to have 30 SpDef, so I thought, why not do HP Steel for fun?
‌• HP Type if any: HP Steel, completely pointless on a Geodude, but why not?
‌• Nature Inheritance: Fortunately, Adamant is one of the natures I have a Ditto for.
‌• Ability Inheritance: Ability 1, anything in a Apricorn, Sport, or Safari Ball can't legally have the HA anyways.
‌• IVs Inheritance: going to make sure I pass on that 30 to a female Geodude before I start breeding it with my 6 IV Ditto.
‌• Move 1: "The user endures any attack with at least 1 HP. Its chance of failing rises if it is used in succession."
Move 2: "The user focuses its mind before launching a punch. It will fail if the user is hit before it is used."
Move 3: "The target is slugged by a punch thrown with muscle-packed power."
Move 4: "The user and its allies are protected from wide-ranging attacks for one turn. If used in succession, its chance of failing rises."
Move 1 Inheritance: Simple for this one, just need to retutor on a default move onto my Male Heracross and breed it with my female Crustle for a male Dwebble with the move.
Move 2 Inheritance: For this move, I have to use TM01 in my SoulSilver on my Sudowoodo after I had PalParked it from my LeafGreen.
Move 3 Inheritance: This was a little tricky. I had to breed my female Sudowoodo with a Ditto to get a male one in my Emerald before I traded it to my LeafGreen. From there I had to take it to the one time use Mega Punch Tutor between Mt. Moon and Cerulean.
Move 4 Inheritance: For Wide Guard I'll have to transfer my Mudkip from my Black 2 to Y so I can chain breed the move onto a Turtwig, then onto a Paras, then onto another Dwebble, and then finally onto my Geodude.

‌• Species: Small blue crocodile (alligator?) with red... things? Fins? Click [here].

‌• Species Inheritance: Just a Totodile. I actually managed to accidentally release the original parent, but I replaced it with a baby hehe.
‌• Ball Inheritance: Had to trade for this since I don't own Colosseum. Plus I'd need to beat the game and trade it over to my Gen III GBA games D:
‌• Nature: Atk up, SpAtk down.
‌• Ability: Torrent is okay I guess.
‌• IVs: HP Ice because funny.
‌• HP Type if any: Read the above yup.
‌• Nature Inheritance: Got an Adamant Ditto to use for this one.
‌• Ability Inheritance: Doesn't have any other ability, HA was never released which is a shame.
‌• IVs Inheritance: Using a 31/31/31/31/31/30 Dratini I RNGd back in my SoulSilver from the Celedon Game Corner.
‌• Move 1: "The user attacks with a prehistoric power. It may also raise all the user's stats at once."
Move 2: "The user feigns crying to fluster the target, harshly lowering its Sp. Def stat."
Move 3: "The target is blasted by a huge volume of water launched under great pressure."
Move 4: "The target is raked with steel claws. It may also raise the user's Attack stat."
Move 1 Inheritance: My male Omastar already knew this move.
Move 2 Inheritance: Already had a male Teddiursa with the move so I just bred it with my female Whismur for a male one with the move.
Move 3 Inheritance: The same Omastar I had could be retutored with this move so it was off to Dendemille.
Move 4 Inheritance: My male Aggron already knew this move.

‌• Species: Seems to be a green pine cone with green eyes. Click [here].
‌• Ball Type: Click [here].
‌• Species Inheritance: Just a Pineco.
‌• Ball Inheritance: Caught this one in my SoulSilver.
‌• Nature: Def up, Spd down.
‌• Ability: Sturdy will help it live through an OHKO.
‌• IVs: I decided to do this based on something I saw on Smogon. I really don't have much sense for this stuff myself so I have to ask people and use Google and what not.
‌• HP Type if any: HP Ice based on Smogon.
‌• Nature Inheritance: I didn't have a Relaxed Ditto, but fortunately I had a Shelmet that was Relaxed.
‌• Ability Inheritance: No other ability than Sturdy. It has an HA, but it's in an Apricorn Ball so...
‌• IVs Inheritance: Since I don't have any 0 Spd Dittos, I have to breed my 0 Spe Makuhita with an Illumise for a 0 Spd Volbeat which I can use to breed a female Pineco with 0 Spd. Finally from there I can use a 6 IV Ditto to breed on the other IVs necessary.
‌• Move 1: "The user tackles the target with a high-speed spin. The slower the user, the greater the damage."
Move 2: "The user lays a trap of spikes at the opposing team's feet. The trap hurts Pokémon that switch into battle."
Move 3: "The user lays a trap of levitating stones around the opponent's team. The trap hurts opponents that switch into battle."
Move 4: "The user lays a trap of poison spikes at the opponent's feet. They poison opponents that switch into battle."
Move 1 Inheritance: I need to either get TM74 in Reflection Cave, or I'll have to breed a male and a female that I have to level all the way up to 42.
Move 2 Inheritance: Similar to above, I have to breed a male and a female and level them both to 28 before finishing the breed.
Move 3 Inheritance: I have a male Dwebble with this move already.
Move 4 Inheritance: I have a male Beedrill, but it's only level 16 so I need to level it up to 25. Shouldn't be too hard to a Beedrill haha.

‌• Species Inheritance: Just a Nincada
‌• Ball Inheritance: Ball was from a traded Pokemon. Just had a weird urge to do Net instead of Dream or Sport (which I already have).
‌• Nature: Adamant was listed on Smogon for Ninjask and Shedninja so why not?
‌• Ability: Well, it's not all that useful in battle to me, but it's the only ability it has anyways apart from it's HA which is even more useless in a battle.
‌• IVs: Just the standard Adamant spread.
‌• HP Type if any: Nope, not this time.
‌• Nature Inheritance: RNG'd Ditto
‌• Ability Inheritance: From the parent.
‌• IVs Inheritance: Also from the Ditto, but the Nincada parent is also 5 IV which is a big help :D
‌• Move 1: "The user bites the target. If the target is holding a Berry, the user eats it and gains its effect."
Move 2: "The user vibrates its wings to generate a damaging sound wave. It may also lower the target's Sp. Def stat"
Move 3: "The user slashes the target the instant an opportunity arises. Critical hits land more easily."
Move 4: "The target is attacked with powdery scales blown by wind. It may also raise all the user's stats."

‌• Ball Inheritance: Last I checked, this particular combo can only be caught in the Great Marsh and in Platinum only.

‌• Ability: Dunno, just felt like it? All 3 of it's abilities have to do with Sun anyways.

Move 2: "The user vigorously performs a mystic, powerful dance that boosts its Attack and Speed stats."
Move 3: "A seed is planted on the target. It steals some HP from the target every turn."
Move 4: "A two-turn attack. Blades of wind hit opposing Pokémon on the second turn. Critical hits land more easily."
Move 1 Inheritance: Eaxy fix, just retutor it onto my Slowking. Though, it's practically required I replace Headbutt since that's also an egg move for Tropius and I don't want it o 3o
Move 2 Inheritance: Also an easy fix, just retutor my Haxorus.
Move 3 Inheritance: Easy fix 3.0, need to retutor my Ivysaur
Move 4 Inheritance: Razor Wind is even easier than the other 3 since I already have a Male Nuzleaf with the move.
