CROSS BREEDS

This will NEVER happen
But if it does, if gamefreak are sick enough, would it be a good idea? If so, what would u like to see?
I want a beldum/larvitar cross breed

To be honest, I don't like this idea. The closest we'll see to it is probably the Kyurem Formes.

Agreed, I definitely don't see this happening aside from the Kyurem formes.

Wait...I don't remember posting this here. Just a mistake ppl

One of your other threads were merged with this one by one of the Higher Staff members since it fit in with this thread.

As for cross breeding...don't really see it happening. Just a personal standpoint.

maybe make a few secret pokemon that you get by cross breeding? like maybe if you put a dialga and palkia in the daycare you could get a baby like half dialga half palkia. kind like phione

Maybe you could see the expressions on the Pokémon to know if they are compatible or not. For example: A sad face is a no, and happy is yes, and excited face is definitely.

I just want access to breeding earlier in the game. I got pretty annoyed in gen 5 when there was all these egg moves I wanted for my pokemon but you couldn't access the day care until after the E4. What was the point of that? Would have been nice to have an option with a fossil pokemon as well but that's another issue.

you can always improve but to actually make a change in the mechanics?
when it comes to breeding, i'll have to say definitely NO. especially regarding stuff like fusions... just... no.
if i want to fuse stuff i'll just play an SMT game instead.
what they could do, though, is to implement ways for people to get the info they need without having to resort to online guides.
i think that trying to make the games self-sufficient especially when it comes to vital information would be one more step in the right direction.
and breeding is important not only for competitive players but also for anyone looking to get decent results on the battle tower/subway/*insert new name*.

yeah, that really ticked me off.
it's very rare for me to complain about stuff but having the day-care as post-game content was a bit too much for me to accept and probably one of the reasons why i don't play the sequels as much as i would like.
well, that and the fact that the rival seemed really cool on the trailers and stuff but then when i actually played the games it really disappointed me to see him go: "whes ma pokaman!!! whes ma sistas parlooooin?!!" constantly, instead of that being simply one of his goals but still retaining a deeper reason to go on a jorney and to defeat the bad guys.
i didn't expect a really deep plot in pokemon but having a rival basically being a crybaby and throwing a HUGE tantrum from the beginning to the end of the game was truly annoying to say the least.

don't get me wrong though, i really appreciate all the effort they've been putting into giving us a good gaming experience without compromising their sales and place on the market.

I'm not so big on the whole "genetics" thing, as far as breeding goes. It would only serve to complicate an already semi-difficult system.

All I want is an interactive mini-game that I can either play every few hours, or pay to play in-game, that allows me to hasten the process of hatching my eggs.

Well what'd be the difference between yes and definitely though, I mean it'd be easier if it was like how easy they can breed, not how compatible they are. So sad = no, tired = might take a while, half smile = not that long, smile = pretty quick, excited = really short!

3DS breeding, what could that be like

Hey i was just thinking about the 3Ds, it already counts your steps right, so wouldn't it be cool if they could have that into a way to hatch eggs. What do you think? Personally id like to see the same breeding setup but with every real world step counting as maybe 2 or 3 in game steps. that way if your on the go you could breed a bunch of eggs and then hatch them if you have to be out walking around all day anyways.

food for thought. :)

No. It can take over 10,000 steps just to hatch one Egg. Keep that to in-game walking and use things like the pedometer (what you're talking about) for bonus things not related to in-game mechanics (like buying Sun Stones, etc.).

I doubt Gamefreak would be this bold with the mechanics, but what I'd love to see is that, for example, when you breed a Murkrow with a Pidgey, the resulting baby actually has different base stats from either parent, so the offspring could be a Pidgey with higher Special Attack than naturally possible (if the male parent was a Murkrow).

This is how I originally thought breeding was, and it could make a lot of Pokémon more viable competitively, and could even overthrow the tier system we currently have.

It would be interesting but the issue is you'd need to be swapping eggs constantly and placing them in your party. Unless there was like an egg bag, maybe but the current system just seems a little easier/less annoying. :(

I don't think they should change the breeding system entirely, but I'm on board with the idea of maybe having one or two special Pokémon (or even just forms) that could be found by cross-breeding certain species. Or perhaps some certain Pokémon could be born with a new form that comes said Pokémon having a recessive trait.

I just want them to integrate the 3ds step counter to speed up egg hatching
It doesn't speed up anything. In-game, you can hop on a bike (or roller skates perhaps) and go a lot of "steps" that you can't IRL.

It would certainly speed up the hatching time. Using your steps while not able to play, the efficiency for breeding would increase.
