Rules on deck lists:
Hello everyone ! As active as the Pokemon TCG community is, it has come to my attention that it is very difficult to help you guys/girls out with your deck lists due to lack of structure with the posts.
I have devised a set of rules which the moderator(s) can approve of.
1. What is the purpose of your deck ?
Are you planning to have casual fun with friends playing with decks constructed from older sets ?
Planning to take your deck to an official Play Pokemon Organised Play event ?
Are you doing a challenge using sets from a certain section ? (Heart gold/soul silver up to Black white)
This is pretty self explanatory, just tell us what you plan to use your deck for !
2. What sets are the Pokemon are you using ?
We NEED the set and set number of the Pokemon you are using especially if you are planning to play in an unlimited format.
There could be over 4 of the same Pokemon card printed in different sets, all with different attacks/abilities. It is very difficult to understand what the deck is aimed for.
Trainers and Supporters don't always need the set since there are usually only used in particular formats. Such as "Professor Oak's New Theory."
If we don't know what sets the Pokemon are from, how can we know what attacks you plan to use and the energy you will need !
3. What is the strategy behind your deck ?
"The aim of Speed Darkrai EX is to be hitting your opponent with a turn 2 Night spear !"
We need the idea of what you are trying to accomplish with your deck. Whether it be setting up a turn 1 or turn 2 attacker or trying to disrupt your opponent with a turn 2 Vileplume (which prevents all trainers.) It becomes easier for us to help you accomplish the strategy behind your deck.
4. Reading guides on the basics of deck building and researching ideas !
This is extremely important if you plan to take your deck to a tournament and not get completely destroyed or if you are quite competitive with your friends.
The core of any good Pokemon deck is a great trainer/supporter line up, with the rest of the deck just falling into place.
Filling your deck with tonnes of Basic Pokemon or Basic Energies (over 16+) will hurt your consistency as the spots are meant for Trainers/Supporters to aid you in drawing into the cards you need at the right time.
There are plenty of mediums such as Youtube, Pokebeach,Pokegym,Google/search engines to find the deck skeleton you're looking for.

If you're new to the Pokemon TCG or revisiting the game from a long time of being away, always feel free to post new threads about your questions or theories on the TCG before posting the deck list !
It will help you construct a better deck and will help us review it quicker !
