I sincerely doubt that Masuda's claim that, "all Pokémon are available" means that all Pokémon are available to catch in game. I'm definitely of the opinion that he means that all Pokémon have been programmed into the game and are available to use - I mean, if all Pokémon were available in the game, it would make the PokéTransporter (and perhaps even the Pokémon Bank) seem almost redundant.

I really doubt that you'll be able to capture every Pokémon in this game - for a start, we know that there are version exclusives already (Clauncher, Skrelp, Swirlix, Spritzee, Mewtwo X, Mewtwo Y), so how can what Masuda has said be taken that way at all?

I am thinking that at least one duo will have in-game trades like Petilil and Cottonee in BW/

I just thought of something, perhaps that cave that is by itself on the west side of the map in the little island chain is where we will be able to catch Mewtwo after the Elite 4.

I don't get it , why would he just state that the pokemon will be coded in games? That's a big duh. If that wasn't the case how would poke bank work?

I think Masuda maybe referring to the national dex... as RS only had it after trading in a non- Hoenn dex mon.

I think the cave in the island will be for either Mewtwo or the Z legendary...

Now that aurorus' signature move is Freeze dry, i am guessing Tyrantrum also has a signature move related to its ability. "Dragon Bite" or "Dragon Crunch" maybe? or even better "Dragon Jaw"?

I liked how the Petilil/Cottonee trade was executed in 5th Gen, you basically were able to get the version-exclusive Grass-types in both versions. I'm hoping they execute more in-game trades like these with version exclusives.

That's true. Though it does give a letdown to the whole version-exclusive idea, it's nice to get Pokémon like Skrelp and Clauncher together in one game.

According to this piece of news, it is definitely true. I'm not exactly sure how others feel about this, but I absolutely love it. :) Your Pokémon do spend a lot of their energy on weakening the wild Pokémon, so in my opinion, it does make sense to reward them with experience points for their hard work.

Well I believe it was said that all pokemon will be in X and Y. So that would allow for version exclusives.

I do think we might get 400-500 pokemon in the kalos dex though. Although when you think about it...most pokemon in the 5th gen were available in some way (dream world, dream radar etc) so if it's possible to catch all pokemon between the two versions maybe that's just their way of cutting out the need for so many outside apps, so they can focus on the pokebank.

Is there any rumors about Clemont being what type specialist? Because if summarized what has been stated in anime he will most likely have Bunnelby at least and propably Dedenne.

Bunnelby is Normal-type and Dedenne in the other hand is Electric/Fairy-typed. It was earlier speculated that Clemont would be either Steel or Electric because he has those Aipom Arm robots and the overall look of his Gym supports this. At this point it would be more likely he'll be Electric-type user because of Dedenne and since Bunnebly doesn't really look like a Pokémon that would turn out to be Normal/Steel-typed. :P

Gym Leaders tend to go against their typing in the anime (or at least, those that travel with Ash do, and I'm pretty sure Clemont will be doing that- I don't really keep up with the anime anymore, so I could be wrong), so as far as it's concerned, Clemont having a Bunnelby isn't that odd. He probably wont have it in the game.

Did you read the interview?

After rereading it , it seems like that statement wasnt made by masuda. Im thinking it was the person who wrote it that made the statement all pokemon will be available in XY , maybe for those who are new to the franchise

True, but usually they have those of their type for the gym battle...maybe Kalos doesn't have much electric Pokémon...at least early on.

Hey maybe this gen Gym Leaders will not be completely mono type. It would be cool if most gym leaders had one pokemon not related to their Gym's typing.

Everyone should remember that many type-specialists that were Ash's companions had pokemon of other types.
Misty - Togepi
Brock - Zubat, Vulpix, Crogunk
Iris - Emolga, Drilbur

(There may be more, but there ones I remember quite well off-hands as being featured frequently, if not more than their specialized-type.)

I just hope it won't be like DP's gym leaders whom had Pokémon that weren't their type due to lack of said typed Pokémon in the regional dex.

Yeah that was the main problem with the Gyms and Elite Four in Sinnoh as far as Diamond & Pearl goes, there was a big lack of certain types, notably Fire and Electric. I'm hoping that X & Y have enough Pokemon of every type so we don't see an issue like this.

Misty also had Azurill, which is Normal-type but evolves into a Water-type. Brock also had loads of other non-Rock-types, like Lotad, Happiny and even Mudkip. But I still think Clemont will probably be an Electric-type Gym Leader in the games given that his names (both Japanese and English) is based on "lemon" which is often known for producing electrical currents. His English name could also come from "inclement" which means stormy.
