Current Curses:
Cursed Bag - TMs only outside of battle, everything else can only be used in battle
First Encounter Clause - Nuzlocke without being a nuzlocke
Demonic Overlords - Audino or Absol must be added to the team and is locked in
So, thinking it over, and to make my life easier, I'm just gonna throw the Audino on the team even though it'll suck until I gain access to some good TMs like Ice Beam and Flamethrower. If it does, by some miracle, do well, then...that's a shocker. Anyway, before we can even worry about that, we have to take a trip to Pokestar Studios...or I can misremember things because I thought you just get forced there instead of having to go there yourself. Also, I forgot that you don't take poison damage outside of battle in Gen 5. That's nice and all, but now I have to catch an Audino and get it leveled up, so...yeah. Let's do that.
Well...the bad news is that the one I got (because catching this thing, for the sake of the curse, goes against the First Encounter Clause) was the lowest possible level I could encounter at Lv. 10. The good news, though, is that it has Regenerator instead of Healer, so...that's something. Still need to get it up 9 levels to catch it up to the rest of the team. That's going to be fun.
So after raising up Doctor Roy, I went and made my Pokestar Studios debut and now, it's time to delve even deeper into the mansion, but the vengeful spirits of the Team Plasma members I destroyed don't want that, so they're here to get in the way. The first one was no match for Anubis since it died from a single Force Palm, so they got scared and ran off. Of course, since they're blocking my way, I have to take them out to proceed, so I gave chase and took down the second one. With those two out of the way, we're off towards Castelia City to do the stuff and things.
Shortly after arriving in the city, we get our first sight of the infamous Ghost Ship of Team Plasma that doesn't need to be in water in a haunted mansion because it's a ghost ship. But anyway, that aside, when we step into the city proper, we get a free bike from a shady clown. I won't argue with it. But our destination is the gym, then to Castelia Sewers, so...to the gym, then the sewers!
Nothing in the curse says I can or can't use the bike, so I'm going to assume I can't since it's not required anywhere and it's an item that isn't a TM. That makes traveling a bit more of a pain, but it's the rules. Anyway, since Burgh is away, the only place to go is the sewers. Because I'm forced to have Hugh along for the ride and he can easily just screw me over, I'll wait until he's out of my hair before I enforce First Encounter Clause for Castelia Sewers. Anyway, speaking of which, we have more vengeful spirits to bring down. After the battle, Anubis must've been quite happy, because she evolved already into Lucario...at Level 20.
After we bring down those vengeful spirits, we find Burgh and get the Strength HM from John. Once he leaves, we are graced with the presence of the best character in the game, the one and only Colress. Anyway, it's time to scout out some encounters and see if anything is worth using, starting with Castelia Sewers. Let's hope for...not Zubat, but of course I get Zubat, and I don't think it's worth using. Passing on it. I'm gonna explore the sewers for items, then we'll get an encounter in Castelia City proper...because that's a thing.
So I went as deep in as I could without having Surf, managed to scoop up the Leftovers (because Leftovers just lying around is a dying breed in Gens 6 and 7), and now it's time to see if Castelia City proper can make up for the epic fail that was the sewers. Spoilers, it doesn't. I found a Rattata and I killed the Rattata. I just want a good Pokemon. Is that too much to ask when I have the potential of getting a curse that can tear my team apart? Well, not counting Route 4 and the cave area in the sewers, that's it for encounters. I'm just gonna go destroy all the Battle Company trainers and then do the gym, I guess.
Allow me to describe how the gym went. Blaze destroyed everything with Braev getting one battle against a Dwebble. Also, Burgh's Levanney...has Cut. It has Cut! Cut! The HM! Why?! It just baffles me why it has such a terrible move. Anyway, yeah, Blaze kinda obliterated the gym, but now I'm underleveled so I'll need to grind. We also get to add Struggle Bug to my collection of useless TMs. I can't wait until I start getting some real TMs. But, grinding awaits after the next curse potentially screws me, so...yup.
Anyway, as for the investigation, it's time to proceed. After the whole statue situation, and I know this is a bad idea, but I'll choose the second of the four plates (and pray).
