Snype noticed Jack call back Blaze. Feeling a sense of satisfaction, he felt as if he won that round in a way. He snickered a bit as Jack called out his next Pokemon, which was a Druddigon by the name of Giga. "Kehehe, As much as I'd love to fight somebody twice my size, I think I'll pass." Snype said as he walked past Mark and went to join the other pokemon that seemed to be on lookout for something. Mark agreed with Snype's action. He was tired out, so it would be an unfair advantage if he continued battling as is.

"Alright then... Len! Where are ya at?" Issac said, looking around. Len popped his head out of the ground at peaked out to Mark. "Oh... Good to see ya Len. Hope you can handle your opponent over there." Mark said. Len turned around only to see a giant Dragon in front of him. Eye's widened, he shook his head and popped out of the dirt.

"Alright. Let's keep going then." Mark said. "Len! Mind Reader!" Len focused straight onto Giga. Focusing on his future movements so that he would be able to land his next attack at perfect accuracy...

"Well" Giga's next move was going to be dodged indefinetly so what sense di it make to attack, other than to show strength of cource "Giga use Bite" Giga flew towards Len at top speed mouth ready to take a chomp out of the little Poliwag even if he knew he was going to miss. Blade watched on every moment they spent the easier they could be attacked at any moment.

Valorie was being shouted at. She winced. What had she done wrong? She didn't quite understand. She had felt like she had done the right thing. Valorie felt herself becoming a bit upset over it and averted her gaze downwards, hiding her eyes from view. She then forced a rather dissonant smile onto her face as she reached back into her satchel and withdrew Dratini's pokeball, clutching it rather tightly as if it were a stress ball before releasing the serpent pokemon.

Dratini peered back at Valorie, whose gaze remained turned down for the time being, and then at Selene, tilting her head in a puzzled manner and mewing.

Vincent sat leaned up against a tree and watched everyone else have their fun. He was bored and wanted to go off somewhere and find something fun to do. Vince figured all the pokemon in the forest wouldn't stand a chance against Blitz so it was pointless to stay.

He then watched and listened as it seemed Selene was getting upset but he wasn't paying attention before so he didn't really know what her and Valorie were doing probably a pokemon battle. Though his was intrigued by what Bri was talking about and decided to go talk to him.

"What were you trying to warn us about?" Xack asked as he walked up to Bri. His pokemon right behind him.

Len took the bite attack head on but was still concentrated on his attack. Whatever his plan was, it seemed Jack didn't know how mind reader worked. The bit left a good mark on Len and pushed him back. Although the strategy was still in place. "Alright Len! Use Hypnosis!" Combined with Mind reader, Len was able to get perfect accuracy with Hypnosis. Hypnotic waves generated from the swirl on poliwhirls belly as they went straight for Giga to eventually bring him to sleep.

"Vince! You scared me! I don't know, but something is out there. I can feel it. It's not just me, Thyme and Jack's Blade know it too. They almost got into a fight about it! I still say we should leave! This is too deep in the forest," he said nervously as Vince approached him. Thyme turned to glance at him and then turned away. Great, another stupid Charmeleon. What was it about her that drew them out?

Drizzle walked over to Val. She was not having fun anymore. Battles were supposed to be fun, not push one of the humans to the brink of tears. He patted her and smiled up at her.
"Cheer up! It's going to be fine!" Drizzle said with a smile. Duster watched him with a grin. That water type was so sweet.

Giga was sleeping there was nothing Jack could do but wait for him to wake up and Jack just watched as Giga laid flat on his back fast asleep probably not even remembering he was in a battle. Jack just stood there he didn't even look concerned since he knew any physical attack would see the opponent get hurt because of Giga's rough skin and water attacks wouldn't be the greatest threat ever. "So make your move" Jack wasnt being cocky he was being confident and Blade smiled when he heard Jack speak as if he had the upper hand.

Giga had succesfully fallen asleep thanks to Len's Mine Reader Hypnosis combo. now it was a matter of attacking him hard enough to really get the jump on him. "...Len! Use dig!" Mark called out. Len nodded and jumped into the hole he previously popped out of. While he was down there he met one of his Digglet friends while he prepared to attack.

"hey watcha doin Len?" The Digglet asked as he dug alongside him.

"Oh! Me? I'm in a battle! Oh! One second!" Len said cheerfully. He made a quick sharp turn straight up and attacked Giga right from below. With Len's skin being so sensitive, The impact of hitting Giga did hurt him a bit, but he shrugged it off as Len pressed on the land a direct attack on him.

Meanwhile, Snype was sitting on a branch pretty close by blade giving off a large smile. "So! Whatcha all lookin at?" Snype said, not too oblivious that they were keeping watch. He was just curious as to WHAT they were looking out for. When it came to seeing things, Snype's vision never failed him. He used Foresight to get a better view of what was ahead.

"That's more like it," grinned Selene, somewhat dismayed by Valorie first giving up and then looking upset by Sel asking for another battle against Dratini...she thought Valorie LIKED battling...as Dratini mewed up at her, Sel laughed and crouched down to eye level with the dragon type. "Ahh as adorable as you are, Ryan and I aren't going to take it easy on you sweets!" she chirped, before starting suddenly. "Oh, just a moment..."

Reaching into her bag, Sel dug around her berry box and let out a 'ha!' as she found a plump Cheri Berry. "Hey Ry, catch!" she called, throwing the berry in his direction, Ryan leaping up and catching it in his mouth. Chewing it slowly, Sel watched as his back rippled with static and he shook his head as though clearing it. He grinned and ran in a circle around her, showing off his renewed speed. Smiling Selene nodded. "Awesome Ry, now, let's use the Dratini method," she smiled and pointed forwards, "use Double Team!" she watched as a clone of Ryan appeared next to him, both clones instantly setting off running around Dratini in random directions, swerving and weaving.

Blade focus on watching the forest was commendable he only glance a few times on the battle and didn't even turn when Snype asked him what was he looking for. {Nothing they're already here waiting for us} Blade responded short and sweet knowing that every move they made was being watched and especially knowing that when bug times come together as a pack they can be dangerous. Blade was preparing himself for the worst setting up and sharpening his blades ready to ensure nothing reaches to Jack, even if Jack would say he can take care of himself.

The impact from the dig attack had woke Giga and he was now in the air flying, at an advantage over the grounded Len "You ok Giga" Jack asked which prompted a nod form Giga in the air. "Good so use Hone Claw" Giga held his claws out and it appeared as if his claws got longer and sharper. "OK now Scratch!" Giga swoop down and sliced at Len then straight back into the air looking back to see if his attack had hit.

Valuerie looked up, her expression becoming serious and seemingly focused on the battle at hand. Dratini bristled, recognizing the tactic. Valorie thought about the situation for a moment. How much was she willing to bet that Dratini had a more finely tuned routine? Maintaining the illusion of a double team was not always an easy task.

"Don't let him outdo you at your own game Dratini! Set Double Team back up!"

Dratini shifted into two again, both Dratinis eyeing one of the Ryans thoughtfully. Valorie knew all she had to do was find the right one and get Dratini to stick to him like glue. Would Dratini be able to hold up against many more attacks was the question. She didn't doubt that Dratini had a strong advantage on a fair battlefield due to her typing, but she had already taken quite a few hits in the last battle.

Seeing as Ryan was significantly faster Valorie knew right away that playing defensively would be the most efficient strategy. As a rule of thumb, the faster of two aggressive pokemon tended to win a fight. If one pokemon played defensively, however, the entire dynamic changed.

Grinning, Selene watched as Valorie ordered Dratini to use her own double team. She watched as multiple Dratini watched multiple Pikachu, as though trying to figure out which one was the real one. As much as Sel wanted to get Ryan on the attack, he couldn't without giving away which one of him was the real one...if one looked closely at the two apparently similar Ryans on the field then they would notice a slight difference in movement between them - one had a hardly noticeable increased fluidity of movement, but you'd have to look really closely to nOtice this.

Sel suddenly had an idea. "okay Ryans! Quick Attack on the Dratini!" she shouted as both the illusionary and the Real Ryan charging towards the two Dratini. Of course, if the illusion Ryan was tackling the real Dratini there would obviously be no damage inflicted, but equally the real Dratini would be unveiled and Ryan could kick his speed up a notch. Selene watched as The Ryans got closer to the Dratini, wondering what would happen.

"Dratini!"

The two Dratinis floated closer together, baiting the two Ryans to do the same as they came after her. The plan was to get them close enough so that even if Ryan didn't hit the real one, she could still retaliate effectively. Their cheeks sparked with electricity dangerously. It was Dratini's standard combo. Valorie considered for a moment that it might be getting stale by now, but how could a good combo that was so hard to effectively counter get stale? She passed the thought from her mind. By coincidence Ryan managed to hit the real Dratini. Dratini whined out loud, squinting and immediately discharging another thunderwave at Ryan, hoping to score the hit before he could have a chance to get away. Valorie became tense around the moment of impact. If Dratini could slow him down, she might be able to pull off a victory. Key moves like this were things she practically depended on in every battle.

Selene grimaced as Dratini countered Ryan's quick attack - tired out by his involvement in the first battle the Thunder Wave engulfed him, slowing him down even further...sel's heart wrenched as she heard an anguished 'chu!' as Ryans face contorted in irritation - he hated being slowed down. But his special attacks were still something of wonder...looked like they'd be limited to those now. Ryan ran, significantly slower but still at a decent pace, around Dratini as Selene shouted "okay Ryan, use your Double Team again andthen Thunderbolt!"

Ryan's Double Team created more copies of him, who ran to disorientate Dratini although they were moving slowly so she could probably still follow the real Ryan. All 4's cheeks crackled with electricity before launching a ferocious Thunderbolt right at Dratini although given Dratini's resistance to Lightning attacks she wasn't overestimating the damage it could potentially do.

Valorie watched with deadpan satisfaction as the thunder wave hit. Now the ball was in Dratini's court. The only question was endurance. Dratini was now capable of keeping up with Ryan and more due to the rather harsh slowdown the Paralysis was causing. She floated around, staring down the real Ryan as he began to run around her, even keeping track of him as two more clones emerged from his presence. The thunderbolt hit Dratini and she cried out, making something akin to a light growling noise. Valorie could tell she was being worn thin.

"Dratini, time for something fresh! Combine Dragon Rage and Twister!"

Dratini responded. She knew what Valorie meant. A funnel of powerful wind began to form directly around her with her in the eye. She simultaneously spewed flames out into the twister, fueling a flaming dragon rage twister that would hit anything too close to Dratini very hard. Even at Ryan's level, Dragon Rage was still a devastating attack to be hit with, let alone when combined with a twister. Shortly after the attack was created the twister began to dissipate, sending the flames flying in all directions like a wall of fire for a good few meters before they too dissipated.

"Great job Dratini! You did good!"

Though she resisted with every fibre of her being, Sel couldn't help but be impressed by Valories inventive technique, very original thinking. "Ryan, Quick Attack away from that Twister!" she shouted, desperate for Ryan to get away from the attack...but it was no use, the effects of the first battle combined with his paralysis had worn him down and tired him out too much.

Watching in horror, the twisted seemed to grab a hold of Ryan and drag him into the swirling winds, and Selene knew then that it was game over. Ryan was too exhausted, he couldn't withstand that.

"stop it! Call Dratini off!" she shouted to Valorie before running forwards, arms raised to shield her from the Twister. "RYAN, IM HERE!" she shouted loudly over the winds. As the attack dissipated, Selene charged through the remaining Twister, wincing slightly as the leftover Dragon Rage flames licked at her legs.

She found Ryan tossed to the side, staggering to his feet. As though in a final display of defiance, Ryan growled and released a weak Thunderbolt at Dratini before collapsing with a small yelp. Selene dropped to her knees beside him, scooping him up and stroking his ears with a watery smile.

"Ryan, I'm so proud of you," smiled Selene as she soothed the pokemon, his eyes closed but his breathing even - she knew he was just about conscious after fainting before. "you're such a strong little guy...you rest now, okay?" she said, iconic her head down to snuggle against his.

Valorie blinked. She was being shouted at again, but this time she understood why and so it didn't bug her a whole lot. Apparently the battle was over. She called out Dratini's name, getting the attention of the serpent pokemon as she began to approach. Dratini turned to look at Valorie before being shocked by a thunderbolt and crying out again, becoming rather upset. Valorie hastened her walk a bit at the sight of this and reached out, taking hold of Dratini and hugging her. She could barely even believe she had pulled it off. Somewhere along the lines she had tried to repress her competitiveness towards Selene and that had involved accepting a loss.

Dratini squirmed a bit in Valorie's arms, coiling around her a bit in turn. She then closed her eyes. Valorie could tell she was seeking comfort and freed one hand to lightly pet her, glad that she was at least calmed down.

She then turned to watch what was going on with Selene and Ryan. Were those... tears? Ironically she hadn't been smiling to begin with, but at the sight of this she felt a sudden urge to go to Selene.

Valorie walked over to Selene, slowing down as she got near arms reach, taking the last few steps a bit cautiously, observing what was going on. Did she offer her support? Was Selene mad? She felt herself beginning to angst over her worries and went on ahead and repressed that too.

Ryans breathing Hitched for a moment before he sighed lightly and turned in towards Selene, and Sel smiled as he did so - he was going to be okay. of course he was. He's a resilient little Pokemon...

Hearing footsteps approaching, Selene knew that it was Valorie before she even looked up. She wasn't angry at Valorie at all, she'd done well to defeat Ryan and that was the nature of battling, there were winners and losers and Ryan had drawn the short straw in going up against the much more powerful Dratini. Looking up, Selene noticed that Valorie seemed hesitant and unsure of how to act with her.

With the quiet 'hey...' Selene was reminded of herself the first time they battled when Blu beat Dratini. A small smile slid onto her face at the irony and Sel wiped her eyes before standing up and facing Valorie, grinning at her as she squeezed Ryan.

"hiya! Wow...what a battle hey?" she said brightly, smiling down at Dratini "well done Dratini, that was a fantastic battle! Going to have to get ourselves trained up to get the jump on you aren't we!" she looked back up at Valorie and nodded towards Mark and jack "want to go train or watch these guys and pick up some ideas?"

Dratini opened her eyes and peered up at Selene when her name was spoken. Valorie smiled lightly. Everything seemed to be okay. Must've been a false alarm. She gazed down at Dratini for a moment, considering the thought of more training. It occurred to her that Dratini was weak and grass pokemon were probably common here even amongst the bugs. Her Frillish lacked the training for Valorie to trust it to stand up to grass types or the like.

"I'm not sure how much more training my pokemon could handle..!"

She then gained a rather mischievous grin. With the exception of Ryan and perhaps Horsea depending on who you asked, Selene's pokemon were in fighting condition. Valorie saw an opportunity.

"Will you protect if my pokemon happen to faint?"

She had a pseudo joking tone, the kind that might make it hard to tell whether she was joking or not. However, everything else seemed to suggest she was quite serious, namely her body language.

Valorie seemed to have second thoughts about more training - perhaps the battle had made them exert a bit too much effort...but then she asked if Sel would protect them if her pokemon fainted during training. Selene was slightly confused by Valorie needing to ask the question...surely that would be a given!

"Oh yeah, of course we will, not that I think you need worry about it," smiled Selene, patting the pokeballs on her belt. "Blu's still fighting fit. I'll feed Horsea a Cheri berry and she'll be okay, but Pansear is the one that I'm most interested in training up here...speaking of which..." she trailed off, she released the fire monkey and the water pokemon and surveyed them closely as Pansear watched her suspiciously and Horsea looked as though she wondered why she was out again. "Gordon," said Sel shortly, pointing to Pansear who wrinkled his nose "and Sharpay" she directed to Horsea who looked like she would've smiled if she had the energy. Crouching down, balancing Ryan on her lap, she fed Sharpay a Cheri Berry, watching as the Pokemon smiled up at her, chirping happily before returning her. "Yep, we're all ready now," she confirmed with Valorie, wondering where they would end up...it was then she noticed Bri and his Pokemon, Vince and Snype looking in the same direction as Blade...Bri looked even more freaked than before...

"Umm...Bri, you okay?" she asked tentatively, looking in the same direction as him. She couldn't see anything. "Well...Val and I are thinking of going training some more...any takers?"
