May I reserve a spot? I'll finish this asap.

Name:
Mina Avery
Age: 16
Date of Birth: October 5th
Gender: Female
Hometown: Vermilion City, Kanto
Reason for Entering: The challenge and the chance to meet new people.
Appearance:
Spoiler:

History: As a child, Mina rarely cried. If she was upset, instead of throwing a tantrum like most babies would, she would crawl off into a corner to mope silently. Even if there was something that should have scared her, she would instead get curious. There were many incidents in her toddler years where she would have to be dragged away from danger, like the time she tugged a Fearow's feathers one to many times and nearly got stabbed by its sharp beak. Even as she got older, she was never very girly and preferred to wear darker clothing with shades of black, gray, or blue. She especially likes striped clothing, usually wearing some sort of silly striped tights or socks.

With her bubbly personality, sometimes overly-kind nature, and the rather naive way she acts, making friends has never been to difficult to Mina. No matter who the person is, she is always kind and friendly to them. If someone rejects her kindness multiple times, she gets rather depressed and frustrated and, once she's regained her cheerful disposition, continues to try to befriend them until they finally give in. Her ideas aren't always considered sane and it isn't uncommon for something disastrous to end up happening because of them, but her intentions are always good.

Because of her father's well-paying job, the Mina's family is rather rich. Growing up with all that money, it took Mina awhile to understand that not everyone had as much money as they do, and she still gets a kick out of people's reactions when she pulls out her seemingly endless supply of Pokedollars. Even though her family is rich, Mina doesn't act like some spoiled little rich brat that gets whatever she wants. In fact, her parents were rather strict with when and where she could use her money before she left on her Pokemon journey.

Her father, Jake Avery, was a sailor working on the SS. Anne and so was rarely around. Due to this, Mina grew especially attached to her mother, Susan Avery, who was an important member of the Pokemon Fan Club in Vermilion City. Susan would often take Mina with her to club meetings, where Mina would play with the club member's Pokemon while the adults talked. It wasn't until she was 8 that she really started listening to some of their conversations, the ones about trainers especially sparking an interest in her. Soon enough she started joining these talks, and it wasn't long before she decided that she wanted to become a trainer.

When she was 9, a year before she would be the required age to get a starter, her father came home to announce that he was taking both Mina and her mother with him when the SS. Anne left on its next voyage. The cruiser's captain had already given him permission, saying that he was one of the best sailors on board. Mina was excited yet hesitant about going, seeing the year-long trip would cause her to be a bit late in getting her starter Pokemon the next year. Still, her eagerness to see other regions and meet the trainers on-board won over. Her outgoing personality won over many of the people on board, allowing her to make plenty of friends. It was from these friends that she learned about the many different cultures of the different regions and towns, as well as the different Pokemon living in them. In her trainer years, this knowledge became useful on many occasions, and that one cruise is what caused her want to meet and become friends with as many people as possible.

A few days after they got back to Vermilion City, Mina packed her bag and set off for Pallet town after saying goodbye to her parents and friends, though not before receiving a Pokemon egg from the Pokemon Fan Club as thanks for telling them all about her trip on the SS. Anne. It took her a few weeks to get there on foot, but it was well worth it in her mind. She was overjoyed to discover that there was still a starter left: Charmander. The young lizard was rather irritated to find that it would no longer be able to stay in its cozy home in the lab, and only became more annoyed when she decided to give it the uncreative nickname Fire, getting the inspiration from the flame on its tail and its fiery attitude toward her. Needless to say, she spent most of the that day trying not to get burned.

Once the Pokemon had calmed down and allowed itself to be returned to its pokeball, Professor Oak gave her a pink Pokedex. Mina stared at it for a moment then politely asked for a blue one, which the professor complied to with a laugh. The 10-year-old girl spent the next few nights in Pallet Town, exhausted from the long trip to get there. On her third day there, she set off for Viridian City after stocking up on supplies at the local shop.

Over the course of her journey through Kanto, Fire slowly started to warm up to her and, albeit grudgingly, his name. He gave any new Pokemon that joined them a hard time at first, but once he decided they were an asset to the team he became friendly to them as well. Mina welcomed all challenges and was always looking on positive side of things, even when it came to losing gym battles or if they were forced to spend the night out in a storm, as she never bothered to buy a tent, believing that they were unnecessary burdens.

The first Pokemon to permanently be added Mina's team besides Fire, was Vine, the Bulbasaur that hatched from the egg the Pokemon Fan Club had given her. It happened on the way to Viridian City, not long after she had left Pallet Town. She heard a cracking sound coming from her bag, and when she pulled out the egg cracks were forming all over it. After a few moments, a baby Bulbasaur was before her, trying out its stubby legs for the first time.

The Vermilion gym was the last one she went to. After defeating the gym leader, she stayed there to train for the next few months to train for the Indigo League and to spend time with her family and friends.

Mina started out well in the Indigo League, and only got better. When all was said and done, she took home the trophy granted to third place winner. She only stayed long enough to rest up, then she was off to Johto.

Over the course of the next few years, she took part in the both the Johto and Sinnoh Leagues, but the only other trophy she got was in Sinnoh for second place, though she came close to the top three each time. She caught many Pokemon in each region, and had arranged most of them into different teams, though there were six that made up her main team.

Fire the Charizard and Vine the Venasaur were both unquestionably with her at all times, as they had been with her since the beginning. She caught T-Rex the Tyranitar as a Larvitar during her time in the Johto Region, when she went to Mt. Silver. Zally the shiny Flygon and Snibunna the shiny Weavile were both received through trades with fellow trainers in the Johto region. Aquarta the Milotic was caught as Feebas in Sinnoh Region, later evolving when Mina decided to keep her on the team despite her useless appearance.

It was on the way to Hoenn that she heard about the Grand Tournament and immediately changed her travel plans to go there, figuring that trainers from all over the world would be there and seeing it not only as a new challenge, but also as a way to make new friends and learn about where they came from. Choosing the three Pokemon to go with her was difficult, as she had become very close to all of them and hated to make any of them feel like they weren't needed, but after much pondering she made her decision. After sending her mother a letter to notify her of the change in plans, she set off for the Grand Tournament.

Place holder for now...

Name: Kirkland Lawrence
Age: 18
Date of Birth: December 7th
Gender: Male
Hometown: Viridian City, Kanto
Reason for Entering: Fun, chance to make new friends and/or rivals, and the excitement of a new challenge

Appearance: To be honest, Kirkland is an average teen when it comes to looks and clothing. Beginning with his looks, Kirkland is handsome. Maybe not to the point for people to stare in awe, but enough to be a photogenic. His build is somewhat normal for an average trainer being somewhat athletic and strong though not to a great extent. His eyes are reddish-brown, giving him a sort of cool and collected gaze. His hair is typically a dirty-blonde color though he has been known to change it to black or auburn. His hair seems to be of medium-long length and flips outward a bit, not to drastically as it does look a tad straight. His bangs usually cover part of his forehead, curving to his left eye.

He stands at around 6'1" and easily weighs around 146 lbs. His skin is slightly tan due to his days on the road and his skin is usually unblemished, though he does have a couple cuts and scrapes from training. He happens to have some callus' on his hands from playing the guitar.

On to the clothing side of things, he's still normal. Basically, his pants are a pair of black jeans with a somewhat lighter tint at the knees. On the case of a shirt, Kirk has three layers of them! The first is just a basic white undershirt. It is followed by a black V-neck with a domino as a decal. Finally, his outfit is finished by a black and white button-up with rolled up sleeves. His shoes are simple Adidas running shoes.

History: When people first see Kirkland they tend to think he's lived a completely ordinary life with no problems whatsoever. Unfortunately, his appearance merely deceives those into thinking this.

To begin, Kirkland was born just over seventeen years ago within the Viridian Forest. His parents were a pair of breeders and herbalists who owned a little cozy shack there. It was a great place to live and it made Kirkland's love for Pokemon grow more and more fairly quickly. Unfortunately, raising a growing child in the wilderness would most likely make him somewhat of a wild child or even a tad antisocial. Realizing this, they soon moved to Viridian.

The move was quick and once there, his parents were able to put up a breeding center within a matter of days. Before long, it was evident that Kirkland could make friends rapidly, whether it be with other neighborhood kids or even Pokemon. It was great and over time, he was shown to be an energetic kid and one people could grow to like. The parents finally knew bringing him to the city was the best idea.

Now at the age of seven, Kirkland attended the Trainer School hear his home, his battling skills showing promise. Of course, he didn't really tend to get good grades on assignments, not that he's stupid just due to the fact that he would goof off when not battling.

For the next four years, this was basically his normal schedule with no excitement besides receiving his first Pokemon, a Riolu whom he named Hope. His life felt repetitive, at least, till he walked through the Forest one day. It was that day that he met his main partner.

After school had ended that day, Kirk had left for the Viridian Forest. He had no idea why, but it seemed beckon to him that day. He walked likely for nearly an hour when he spotted what appeared to be poacher closing in on a small Pokemon. Without thinking, a small bit of bravery, or likely stupidity, pushed him forward. He tackled the poacher and ran for the Pokemon, an Eevee, before quickly leaving the place. It was obvious that something had grazed the Eevee. She needed medical attention.

His first thought was his parents, whose medicinal care with herbs was number one. They were able to treat the injured Pokemon, though with her timid nature it was rather hard. She seemed to be frightened of them and the only thing that could calm her down was music. Luckily, his father knew how to play an acoustic guitar and as he tried to calm the Pokemon, he also taught Kirkland.

Having the ability to play the guitar well, the Eevee, whom he began to call Harmony, grew close to him. From there on, his team began to grow and sooner than later, he planned on leaving. Well, after getting his parents of course.

A year later, his parents chose to let him leave on his journey. Over the course of the next few months, Kirkland was able to traverse the region, collecting badges and meeting new people along the way. Once finished, he started for the league tournament, eventually getting sixth place.

Now done, he went home to rest. Of course, he wanted to keep traveling and with time he left for the Johto region and repeated the process. Placing fourth place in this league, he continued to Hoenn and then Unova, becoming stronger as he went.

Now seventeen, Kirkland plans to travel the Sinnoh region. However instead of the league, he is setting his eyes on the Pokemon Grand Tournament, a place where he knows he will find strong trainers and possibly new friends. So with that being the case, Kirkland grabbed his traveling things, his trusty guitar, and his most faithful partners and left for the next chapter in his life.

I hope this is good enough. I changed one of the Pokemon because I thought it would be more appropriate for a miko to have. :cheeky: Even though she's mostly integrated into the modern world at this point, I still want to have her see something unfamiliar and shout "BE GONE EVIL SPIRIT!" while people around her stare.

Name: Amaterasu Aoi (For the sake of uniformity, presented in Western style, meaning her first name is listed before her last.)
Age: Seventeen
Date of Birth: November 17
Gender: Female
Hometown: Izumo Shrine, located in the mountains of Johto to the north of Ecruteak City.
Reason for Entering: Amaterasu has been experiencing strange dreams depicting a shadowy figure descending over the site of the Grand Tournament. She believes a legendary Pokemon or some other deity is beckoning her to enter the tournament to stop this force.
Appearance:
Spoiler:

Amaterasu stands approximately five feet, three inches tall and is of average weight for her age. Her raven black hair is long, straight and usually let down without any accessories. Her eyes are of the purest shade of brown, and will stare right at whomever Amaterasu is addressing without wavering. At the Izumo Shrine, Amaterasu's daily attire consists of a long red skirt adorned with a ribbon, and a white kimono jacket with red trim, typical of shrine maidens. Her sleeves are detached from the kimono jacket, matching it in color to symbolize purity. As this is the sacred garb for performing rituals, Amaterasu keeps this with her in a backpack or suitcase at all times, even when she is away from the shrine.

On the streets, Amaterasu is willing to wear modern clothes, but still tends to dress modestly. Nothern Johto can be cool even during the summer, which has caused her to adopt a turqoise sweatshirt and baggy jeans for casual garb. These are complimened with grey and white sneakers, along with a red Pokemon League cap, which Amaterasu only wears on occasion. She won the hat in a contest and doesn't like getting it dirty.

History: Amaterasu was born in Ecruteak City. Her parents were killed in a car accident when she was a toddler, and as a result was raised by her grandmother, the caretaker of a shrine in Johto's northern mountains. As she never got to really know her parents, this affected her little, and Amaterasu grew into a well-meaning though sometimes naive individual. Her upbringing in such a remote location left her with little experience of the modern world. Though they did not receive television broadcasts out in the boondocks, the shrine had an electrical generator and a radio, giving young Amaterasu at least some knowledge of how life was elsewhere. She also spoke with Pokemon Trainers and other travelers who came to visit the shrine, be it to pray or simply stop for the night, and heard some of their stories.

As she grew up, Amaterasu was trained by her grandmother in the ways of a miko, or shrine maiden. Her tasks consisted of all sorts of things from performing cleansing rituals and sacred dances to cooking, cleaning, and even some Pokemon battling. She was schooled in the legends and folklore of the Johto region, and the spirits that watched over all of the world. At the age of seven, Amaterasu was given her first Pokemon partner, a Vulpix named Recca. Recca was to help Amaterasu with her tasks as a shrine maiden, as well as be a partner in Pokemon battles, and friend in general. As the years went by, the two became very close.

Amaterasu grew into a somewhat aloof but certainly not shy young woman. Though she was aggressive at times, she would return to her normal self once she understood a situation better. Occasionally, she and her grandmother would venture to Ecruteak City to run errands, giving her more exposure to the modern world. Though she certainly did not come to fear it, Amaterasu often found objects she hadn't seen before to be strange or intimidating. One notaable account would be the first time she encountered a working television, causing her to try to remove the evil spirit from it and rescue the people trapped inside. As Amaterasu grew, she learned what most of these machines were, but her limited exposure left her baffled when it came to operating them. To this day she has a great deal of trouble using any sort of computer, though she no longer believes they house evil spirits.

As Amaterasu grew into a teenager, she gained two new Pokemon partners, a Gasttly named Namahage and a Treecko named Yamori. At this point the young miko wanted to make a name for herself in the world outside her shrine, and decided to challenge the Johto league. In a few month's time she earned eight badges and entered the regional championships. It was also over the course of this journey that her Pokemon evolved into their adult forms. Even Recca, who could not evolve through training became a Ninetales with her Trainer's lucky discovery of a Fire Stone. Though Amaterasu did not win the tournament, she placed in the top sixteen and received a limited edition Pokemon League baseball cap, which she treasures to this day. Satisfied with her title, she returned to life at the Izumo Shrine.

Shortly after Amaterasu's seventeenth birthday, she began to experience strange and disturbing dreams every night. She would see a Pokemon stadium located on an island somewhere. Things seemed upbeat until a dark shadow descended over the island, swallowing Pokemon and human alike in its path. Each night she would awaken covered in sweat. Unable to return to sleep, Amaterasu would pray to the spirits for answers until the sun rose. After countless hours of meditation, rituals, and prayer, she and her grandmother determined something was going to happen at the recently announced Pokemon Grand Tournament. Knowing she she needed to do, Amaterasu packed her bags for Sinnoh, intent on discovering what eviks lurked there and stopping them.

@Mystical Mermaid: I most definitely accept that~

I'm curious to see how she interacts with others in this RP. I'm sure it's bound to be interesting.

On another note, I'm loving this group of characters so far. :3

Awesome, and thank you. :D I have to agree that this is turning out to be a very well-rounded cast. Whoever's partnered with Amaterasu will most likely put her in culture shock and be sent into culture shock themself at the same time.

Hehe... though Amaterasu would probably be a little wary with her at first. She would probably see that Eria isn't in such good heath and go all spiritual on her to try and cure her. Even though she knows she's in the modern world she holds on to her heritage strongly. I now have a mental image in my head of your drawing of Eria covered in paper talismans while Amaterasu performs some ritual.
