Title says it all pretty much. What is your favorite line/verse from a song? What makes them so great/interesting? Go into detail, and please explain why, as we don't want a list, now do we? Feel free to go super into detail and analyze what makes it so amazing! :D

Te amo, te amo, she's scared to breathe
I hold her hand, I got no choice
Pulled me out on the beach, danced in the water, I start to leave
She's begging me and asking why it's over

This lyric is emotionally, lovely. I like it.

Unrequited love
To me its nothing but a one man cult
And cyanide in my styrofoam cup
I could never make him love me
Never make him love me

FRANK OCEAN - BAD RELIGION LYRICS

I feel in love with this song the first time I heard it. It actually inspired one of my fan fics.

I see it everyday
We settle for safe
And lose ourselves along the way

This song lyric would probably be far from being my all-time favorite. But it fits the topic. This specific verse has just been stuck in my head for a while, and it just keeps me going. Especially when I find myself pondering on the somewhat questionable real life choices I've made in the recent past. I find it oddly inspiring, even though I can think of many other songs that I prefer over the song that the lyric came from itself. So yeah, it's probably gonna change in the near future, but for now, this is it.

K, its a bit long, but here it is.
Rubik's Cube by Ricky Valdez said:
I believe that life is one big four-dimensional Rubiks Cube
Intermingling space and time and every life is inter-twined
And everything that has been done is emanating through everyone
As smoothly as the oceans were shifting through these motions.
Like little cubes in little spaces we all must find our places
And everything will play a part to make this world a work of art

Its a beautiful time to live right now
Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo
The sky is burning through the clouds
Doo doo doo doo doo doo cant you see

I believe theres someone who can see the picture from beyond
Casting to us images like stars remaining through the dawn
And all our faded memories in multi-color can be seen
And everything we ever knew now in panoramic view
If you could see the world from every angle
Watch it all untangle
Trace it all back to the start
Thered be chain reactions in every part

It really marks what I stand for, which is why I love it so much. The lyrics puncture the surface, diving deeper into what this world is all about.

LOL, no I'm kidding. That song just sucks imo^^'

But to be serious my favorite lyric would be this
Tupac - Changes
I see no changes all I see is racist faces
misplaced hate makes disgrace to races
We under I wonder what it takes to make this
one better place, let's erase the wasted
Take the evil out the people they'll be acting right
'cause both black and white is smokin' crack tonight
and only time we chill is when we kill each other
it takes skill to be real, time to heal each other
And although it seems heaven sent
We ain't ready, to see a black President, uhh
It ain't a secret don't conceal the fact
the penitentiary's packed, and it's filled with blacks
But some things will never change
try to show another way but you stayin' in the dope game
Now tell me what's a mother to do
bein' real don't appeal to the brother in you
You gotta operate the easy way
"I made a G today" But you made it in a sleazy way
sellin' crack to the kid. " I gotta get paid,"
Well hey, well that's the way it is

Most of the lyrics from No Surprises by Radiohead.

A heart that's full up like a landfill
A job that slowly kills you
Bruises that won't heal

You look so tired unhappy
Bring down the government
They don't
They don't speak for us

I'll take a quiet life
A handshake of carbon monoxide

No alarms and no surprises
No alarms and no surprises
No alarms and no surprises

Silent
Silent

I won't do the whole thing but I do get touched by these lyrics a lot, one of my fave songs for that reason.

hot girls we have problems too
we're just like you
except we're hot
the world needs to open their eyes
and realise
we're not perfect and sometimes we lie!

THIS IS TOTAL GENIUS.

...

K, lol, jk.

If I were to pick a favorite song based on lyrics, it would be the stuff in Dare You To Move by Switchfoot.

Welcome to the planet
Welcome to existence
Everyone's here
Everyone's here
Everybody's watching you now
Everybody waits for you now
What happens next
What happens next

[Chorus]
I dare you to move
I dare you to move
I dare you to lift yourself up off the floor
I dare you to move
I dare you to move
Like today never happened
Today never happened before

Welcome to the fallout
Welcome to resistance
The tension is here
Tension is here
Between who you are and who you could be
Between how it is and how it should be

[Chorus]

Maybe redemption has stories to tell
Maybe forgiveness is right where you fell
Where can you run to escape from yourself?
Where you gonna go?
Where you gonna go?
Salvation is here

I dare you to move
I dare you to move
I dare you to lift yourself up off the floor
I dare you to move
I dare you to move
Like today never happened
Today never happened
Today never happened
Today never happened before

Pure gold. :)

The Real World by Owl City said:
Downy feathers kiss your face and flutter everywhere.
Reality is a lovely place but I wouldn't want to live there,
But I wouldn't wanna live there.
"Reality is a lovely place but I wouldn't want to live there, but I wouldn't wanna live there." in particular is my favorite lyrics. I'm sure alot of you figured that out by how often it's in my signature.
They just really stuck out to me and it's a pretty true statement. The reality I picture in my head is far better than the real reality. I've always wanted to live in the world I imagine in my head, but unfortunately I can't. I really wish I could live in the made up world in my head cause life would be better.

steve vai - all about eve

And though the sun goes down
The fever you adore is burning in your breast
Helpless in the fall from paradise into your bed
For here it is sown, in time we forget what is man

Don't let your body cry
This game of love is war
And I'm already dead

You say- Hold me down and wash away
This hunger from my flesh
And make me reborn in sweet innocence
Come on and make me live

It's voodoo that you possess
(Your heaven is danger)
Deny your dark side, I know
All about your secret life
Oh Eve

And so the moon is high
I see that love is blind
To the fire in your eyes

As our garden fiercely burns
We have no place to hide
Naked and cold running from the wind
Now wrapped in skin

It's voodoo that you possess
(Your heaven is danger)
Deny your dark side, I know
All about your secret life

It's voodoo that you possess
(Your heaven is danger)
Behind those lucid eyes
The shadow of the serpent lies
Oh Eve
All about Eve

"with an effortless smile you pervade to be"
Pretty much describes my life.^

Some of my other favorites;
"nothing you love lasts too long"
"you can't be caught red handed if you're not red handed"
"what god takes away, let's refill all your holes with mud"

Probably a bunch more I can't think of at the moment.

What LilJz1234 said. One of my favorite lyrics too, but I like the quote in the song.

"You gotta make a change. Its time for us as a people to start making some changes, lets change the way we eat, lets change the way we live, and lets change the way we treat each other. You see the old way wasn't working so its on us, to do what we gotta do to survive."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Promise that you will be happy, you are so good-looking when laughing
And like this, only like this I want to remember you, like this, as before
Like this, onwards, like this, my life now it is up to you, you alone, to continue our trip
It is getting late, I will have to leave.
In a few seconds you are going to wake up

This is from Nas is the song Topless

Ya skins ya traveling bag of your existence.
Yours is shabby and scab while mines glistenin.
Vivid on my skin how many continents I've visit then you could journey with me to different places by listenin.

Nas is one of the best storytellers ever when it comes to lyrics. I really like the last line here from "Vivid...listenin". He is telling the listeners that they can follow his story and his life through his songs.

"We fall in line, we live the lie.
Give up, give up, and feed the machine.
It grows inside, nowhere to hide.
Wake up, wake up, and kill the machine."

"...Now bow and learn to be a good slave..."

-Feed the Machine by Red

Both from the same song and I like them for the same reason. I didn't put them in the quote together because they're from different parts of the song. I don't have time to explain all of it at the moment, but I might later.

Taylor Swift - Ronan said:
I remember the drive home
When the blind hope
Turned to crying and screaming why
Flowers pile up in the worst way
No one knows what to say
About a beautiful boy who died
And its about to be Halloween
You could be anything
You wanted if you were still here
I shouldn't even have to explain this. The raw emotion that is built up during this entire song really jumps at me in this verse especially... All the feels, man. ;__;
