Downloading the 3d demo now, can't wait to see what it looks like in action.

Edit: Ok, so I finally got the demo downloaded and running. When it started, there was quite a lot of lag, but wehn the actual game came on there was none, whch is what's important.

I have 3gb of ram and a 9200 intergrated nvidia geforce graphics card. I don't know what the processor is.

I guess since you're no game dev, you cannot appereciate how difficult, complex and fiddly scripting is - especially when you try to modify how the map itself is loaded. And your comment also shows us that you haven't read what CP said. This was NOT a demo of the game, this was a demo of the 3D system (as he stated in his post). He wasn't posting the demo to show you what origin looks like, and what it feels like, he was simply posting the demo for proof of his engine - I don't see a problem with that. Just because you don't have 3 hours of gameplay within something that was meant to show you its map, you can't say that this game has no potential, personally I think it has more potential that most of the games here. And let me tell you why I think that.

CP here is giving the best of his abilities, to create something from his game to set it apart from others, and he is putting in that unique feature which will boost his overall look of the game. I think it has alot of potential since he is able to create custom scripts so that we don't look at the same old Essentials game, like everyone else has. You wan't some storylines? Go to the first page. He is not obligated to post a demo, with an intro of the story, he could just post a demo to show his latest soundtracks - it doesn't matter what he puts in it. But saying that this game has no potential, just because there is no play content is wrong. And that like you said...coming from a non developer. I guess you just can't appereciate the difficulties one has to go through, and the annoying little things that have to be done to achieve this.

To CP I say good job!
@ Luka and CP I do see the difficulties that a game Dev has to go through.. Ex: your computer crashing. That post was never meant to go into a bad way, it was more to try and push cp to work more on the game and not just the 3d... I mean lots of people want this game to be the best it can be because it has a keen feature that other games don't... The misreading of the "DEMO" was my fault and I sincerely apologize... I was just dissapointed that I didnt get to see alittle more , like in the screenshots he has. I also was just hoping for a small demo with atleast one thing to do other than just walk around and talk to a few people ..
I know he isn't obligated in any way to post a "FULL DEMO"... Once again I am sorry Cp , that first comment I made wasn't suppose to be took en in a negative way or tone...

Ps: Luka I said not that much potential ... Not NO POTENTIAL

/Small update time/

Sorry for being away from this thread for the past few weeks, I have been busy with some new projects for Origin, the good news is since I'm at a point in the projects where I feel they will be complete definitely, I'll update this post with some progress. Sorry but I can't post screenies because I'm not on my computer.

3D Engine:

- I have recently received the MGCCubesv2-0 (and soon v2-2) source code from King Kadelfek, which is the source code of the DLL my 3D engine uses. So now I can fix all the errors I already see within the engine plus I can (and will) make all the general 3D objects like slopes and spheres for example. (MGCaladtogel only made cubes, 3d rectangles, and 3d cylinders) So in a way I am actually finishing MGC's DLL.

Encryption :

- I am working on a better encryption for Origin so it'll be able to load faster without eating up everyone's RAM.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

So yeah // you can see this was really a barren update, but I thought some of you may like to be updated on the status.

Catch you guys later :)

Well it's great that you'll be able to fix the errors, loading times and ram usage. Those are the main things holding back this game, so once they are fixed you can finally start working on it. And when you have, with it's 3d engine it'll be completely unique on PC.

@> Peeky Chew:

I am actually not 100% sure of the encryption part...I don't want my engines to be stolen by all the infamous RGSSAD Extractors xD I believe I have found a way to (quote-on-quote) circumvent the RAM issues and have the encryption but I need to do some more research into it before I can guarantee it. But if you thought you were seeing 3D then, just wait to look at my new 3D engine. I won't say anything else about it now except that it'll top the previous engine and all updates I've made in this thread. I know it may seem like I'm just shouting lies randomly with those last statements but if I posted something before revealing pics (or the demo) of the 3D engine I bet most people wouldn't have believe me.

(More progress!)

I know I've been a inactive for the past two weeks on the thread but today (erm, through those weeks) I have been working on some special things.

* Adding RGSS2 support
* Re-enabling maximizing and stretching (so you can have your own resolution)
* IrrKlang

So far everything works although they still need to be fine tuned. I can't really provide pictures of IrrKlang (as it is a sound engine, not a graphic engine). IrrKlang is a High Quality 2D and 3D Audio player (for those who don't already know).

So yeah, not really anything to show yet but I thought documenting some progress would be better than nothing.

I don't really think this is a good idea. I know that it sounds good in concept, but in reality won't it cause countless unseen problems? From changing every menu system to auto fill, to seeing edges.

Now this sounds good, it could make it so much better if implemented right.

Ive done some research and noticed that some encryption methods don't have 3d support so its hard to find a good one and keep the 3d graphics and system good. Does that make sense?

Any who you guys im here to apologize for the post i posted earlier i realized that he may have been busy so he could not release a full demo of the game.I just realized that when my college professors were giving me with tons of work *Junior*

@> Peeky Chew:

I can see where your coming from with your idea, normally that would be correct as there would be problems with the graphics, but there is none as the window maximizing/stretching is done in the realtime so there are no graphic errors. The only thing I am reworking is just the mouse to detect screen size changes, other than that though there are no errors.

@> Koby1:

I'm sure what you're talking about has nothing to do with 3D. If the 3D doesn't work it's the application developer's fault because they're the ones who placed the incorrect 3D coding there, the encryption only encodes the developer's materials, which are kept intact.

@> Everyone:

For the past two weeks I have been developing something truly awesome, something to outdo the 3D engine I had shown in the demo last time, and I think this will. I have created a 3D rendering engine that loads 3DS models in the realtime. The reason I think this outdoes my other engine is that I have far better processing power with this engine and it is done realtime, not loaded once and forgotten. It supports *.3DS models completely and (almost) 3DS Max files.

The 3DS project has gone a long way for me so I thought I'd show it:
(Spoilered because they're quite large pictures)

3DS MAX File (Working on texture support - You can see a little bit of the textures though)

Spoiler:

3DS File (Full Support)

Spoiler:

The reason I used bigger screenshots this time was to show it is actually in the RGSS Window. This 3DS renderer is fully compatible with RMXP (ie gameplay can occur while showing the models) and also fully controllable too with RGSS :D

I hope to get the 3DS MAX textures 100% (if not close to that) done tonight so I will update if it gets done.

I'm not one to post on an old thread but I had to for this, btw man this game looks pretty awesome, by the way how far are you through with this game? A game like this is what I have always wanted..... but too bad it can't be ported to a ds........ maybe one day.....
One suggestion, could you add a selection of male/female sprites too pick from.

I am pretty far with the game, in my opinion, but soon I will be finishing something that no one has ultimately succeeded with yet in RMXP.
Actually there is a way to port RMXP games to the DS, it's called EasyRPG. You can find a video of it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_AuIzbryKg4
I'm not sure where to find it anymore though...it got kinda lost in the internet over time.

@> Everyone:

Apologies for my absence for the past month. My computer's C drive completely died...or so I thought. I have recently fully recovered all of my data though so progress can be made once again. I am right on the verge of finishing the 3DS engine as well.

Update:

I have finished the 3DS engine through V1. Also I have recently made a video of the Demo game because I know not everybody was able to run it on their PC. It was on my list of things to do, but it slipped my mind before.

This time I found a better recorder so the video is in much better quality than my other videos. It's probably better to view it on youtube so you can see it in HD.

EDIT: This engine for the map is outdated, I am making a new one which will be better but for RMXP this is still pretty good. The newer one will support more dynamic objects. (Progress Update)

@> Everyone:

over the past month I have made some significant progress, namely on the battle system and encryption.

Over the past month I have updated the insides of the battle system to almost match Pkmn BW. I haven't done a huge amt of work on the GUI yet but I do have screenshots for the bottom screens of the battle system. (NOT MOCKUPS)

piccollaborationcp.png

I have successfully completed a Pkmn BW Font file which allows me to type text using the font, the text is actually typed-in text, not mockup graphics. I will be working on full screenshots for the upcoming week.
The team/kyogre are all just testing pokemon used for this example with randomized stats and a testing moveset. (Kyogre can't use lock-on =P)

The second bulk of what I have done over the month is a brand new encryption. Unlike my demo this encryption uses virtually zero ram so none of your computers will have a problem. I have successfully encrypted, and played, audio files with my new encryption too with nearly zero lag.
Using some new methods this encryption was made possible.
I'm not sure if I'll release this function though for the public but if your interested leave me a comment here, by visitor message, or by private message. If I get enough comments I'll consider allowing others to use it ;)
If you want an example proving my file encryption, here is an example:

http://www.mediafire.com/?ed15bllu5ot3jyl

The extension is the name of this encryption. (ColloSal ARChive)
The encryption is still a beta but there is still no plain text.
