Rutack ShadowBlade

Rutack glanced around the room looking at all who were present, there was Thia; the chainlink clad stranger who had just bowed to the king; Rutack's cautious reflexes kicked in causing him to put his left hand on the sword on his left him, There was Tobi; then there was the Stranger who was caught trying an unconventional method of getting into the castle; the thought of that man made Rutack glance at him to make sure he was still there... thankfully he was, he looked like he was drooling, while staring at the King's Throne.

Rutack got this impression that there was something... or someone behind him. he glanced behind him to see... hiding in the back, closest to the wall, a knight of sorts wearing emerald green full plate armor by the look of it, was standing there trying not to get noticed beside him stood a horse like dragon... after some more time looking at it... Rutack determined that it must be a Kirin of the forest, judging by it's more forest dwelling appearance.

Rutack couldn't exactly tell who this knight was, but it was clear that he was a dragon Tamer and should be approached with respect. Rutack nodded in a friendly tone to the knight and turned back to face the king.

Tobi Gustav

Rutack pondered Tobi's question and decided on a simple answer that wouldn't give away him too much, at least now he knew that what Shade had alearted him of was Tobi and his dragon. "the king has his sources," he replied, "and with the recent odd events hapening, the king gave out orders, that's as much as I know, why else would guards be allowing and escorting Dragon tamers around like they were of the royal court or some other noble?" he continued walking for a moment then asked, "if I may ask Tobi what type of dragon is your dragon?"

"...A light Drake", Tobi replied. Though Tobi hadn't said much else in final steps into the throne room, he was still somewhat uneasy of the situation. He told himself answers will be revealed soon enough as the throne room doors opened. He marveled at the intricate design of the room as if it was a tribute to dragons themselves, and not only a throne room for the king. As Rutack addressed the king he bowed, and so did Tobi as well, along with the others. It was a long time since Tobi was in the presence of Loyalty. Tobi opened his mouth the speak, decided rather to wait for the King's response to Rutack.

Looking to his left, he again glanced at Thia. The woman who most everyone in Issathon, including the guards and Rutack seemed to know. It intrigued him that even she seemed clueless as to their summoning of the king. Tobi then looked on at King Johar for his response.

Rutack ShadowBlade

Rutack decided to make conversation with some of the others, since things were still preparing for... well everything, Rutack decided to make his way to the Emerald armored man in the back...

Rutack met the man eye to eye, "a pleasure to meet a dragon tamer, I'm Rutack... and may I inquire of who you are, and who this is?" he asked motioning to the Deer-like dragon beside him. Rutack couldn't recognize who the man was... but he looked similar to someone he knew in the past.

Rutack continued to ponder on this and moved over to stand next to the man, and face the king.

"Sheesh Lady Thia must you ALWAYS go around Slamming doors? these doors aren't like the doors to an inn. they close just fine without needless slamming." Thia turned her steely gaze to Rutack, not in the least amused. But then, he probably already new that. She turned back to the king as the infiltrator addressed him. More people were filing into the room and she had no doubt Johar would soon address them.

As Rutack moved away from Thia to make conversation with the green clad knight in the back of the room, the king finally dismissed the soldier he had been speaking to and turned his attention to the gathered dragon tamers. His old yet still keen eyes looked over their ranks until they landed on the chained stranger. Motioning toward the man with a hand, he said, "Rutack, you can unchain Alistar. He was called here like the rest of you." His next words were directed toward the entire group.

"I apologize for any inconvenience the Guard caused when they went to bring you here, but for some of you there wasn't any other way to get your attention." At this, he gave Thia a pointed look, which she blatantly ignored. "I'm sure you've realized by now that everyone I have summoned is a Dragon Tamer. What you probably don't know is why you are here."

"As some of you may have heard, there have been strange circumstances involving dragons and sorcerers. Dragons have been disappearing without a trace, even under careful watch, and sorcerers have been dying without any outward or inward signs to give us a clue as to how they died." He paused for a moment, letting those who hadn't heard of these events think on them for a moment, then continued. "You Dragon Tamers have bonds with both dragons and magic, albeit one more than the other. It is my belief that such bonds may put you in as much danger as a sorcerer; however, I also believe you may hold the key for solving this strange chain of events. As I understand it, you and your dragons can feel one another's emotions through your bond, so if one is in danger the other will sense it. Though I'd rather not endanger you, I have a request to make." He stopped, then corrected himself. "No, I have an order for you. I will be sending each of you in pairs to the areas that have been experienced the most disappearances and deaths. The one who does not have a partner will act as a go-between, to inform myself and the other Dragon Tamers of your findings. I want each of you to pay very careful attention to the emotions you feel coming from your dragon. Any change in behavior could mean something is about to happen to them. Keep an eye on one another as well. Since you have magic, you could end up a victim like any other sorcerer."

"So in other words," Thia interjected, ignoring the fact that she was interrupting the king. "You want us to risk our lives to help you?"

Johar leaned back in his throne. "No, I want you to risk your lives for Fargona. Magic has barely made its way back into our lives, and now there's a chance that both it and dragons will be ripped away from us." Thia didn't seem overly satisfied with that answer, but before she could come back with another argument, he directed his attention to the group as a whole. "Are there any other questions? If not, I'll assign pairs now."

Rutack ShadowBlade

King Johar after talking for a moment with one of the guards ordered Rutack to Release the chained up individual, Alistar, so that was the man's name, fair enough. Rutack nodded and released the man from the chains, tossing them to the side.

Johar explained the situation, nothing that Rutack hadn't heard before, well except Thia's arguments, before Rutack could make a sarcastic comment to Thia the king asked if there were any other questions, then offered to Assign pairs. Rutack thought for a moment, he could definitely be the go between, with him and Shade they would fly quick enough to respond to requests, Rutack remained silent during this just waiting for what his order would be.

Tobi Gustav

Tobi pondered about the King's request for a moment...He then seized the opportunity to question King Johar. "Well...what exactly will we be doing in these lands while we wait for whatever it is out there to come for us? By the way you explained the situation, it seems as though we'd be dead before we can gather any information ourselves, much less rally info back to you." Tobi sighed for a second when he thought about Triton or himself dying during such a task. "With all due respect sir, it sounds like a suicide mission."

The others stared at Tobi. A couple wide-eyed, in anticipation for the King's response. Tobi somewhat assured himself that his question was out of practicality and not of cowardice. He cared for the land of Fargona but cared for the safety of his own Dragon more. Then he contemplated that if the king was a sorcerer himself, he would selflessly journey to those lands to aid Fargona and its people in its crisis. This thought made Tobi feel somewhat ashamed. Even so, stood silently and un-moving with a thoughtful expression, as he waits for the king's reply as well.

Mikash walks to a nearby window thinking what does the king need him for. the king dismissed the knights and called upon the dragon tamers. He stands before king Johar in hearing what he had to say. King Johar started talking about magic and sorcerers and requested that we find out what was going on. Mikash wondered why he was called to this and what was to happen if he went to go find out what these sorcerers were up to.

"This sounds like a suicidal mission. But I am up for adventure." Mikash said in a whisper. "Im in. "He says on excitement. "But why do you need us to go isn't that what the soldiers you sent for us are for?" He asked the king. Waiting for his reply he heads to a nearby chair ,he starts making leather armor for his journey.

Rutack ShadowBlade

Rutack listened to the questions the other members of the group asked, the questions were illegitimate. Rutack stepped forward, closer to the king's throne, he turned to face the group, "well, we won't be sure what's being asked of us if we keep asking questions and don't let the king answer and explain them. Besides, as the his majesty stated, we know what's at risk... the Dragons, which we all love and are bonded to, and our powers, the magic has returned just recently... and the sake of the rest of Human kind, and the nation of Fargona... so as you can see everything we know and love is at stake here, the more we wait here and question the king, which why would we question his wisdom and his knowledge I will never know, but that's beside the point, what's important here is that we must work as a team to find out what is going on and save our dragons, our Nation, and our powers."

After his little speech, he turned to the king, "My apologies sire for the interruption." then he walked his way back to his place once again next to Tobi and Thia. He glanced around checking the numbers of the group, they were an odd bunch, of various occupations and lifestyles. Rutack continued to look at the group, there was a slight chance that they would not servive, but that's a risk they were all going to have to take. Rutack watched anticipating for the pairings and tasks.

Thia Rondamar

The king listened to each of the questions in turn, then looked to Rutack as the Infiltrator spoke.

"Well, we won't be sure what's being asked of us if we keep asking questions and don't let the king answer and explain them. Besides, as the his majesty stated, we know what's at risk... the Dragons, which we all love and are bonded to, and our powers, the magic has returned just recently... and the sake of the rest of Human kind, and the nation of Fargona... so as you can see everything we know and love is at stake here, the more we wait here and question the king, which why would we question his wisdom and his knowledge I will never know, but that's beside the point, what's important here is that we must work as a team to find out what is going on and save our dragons, our Nation, and our powers." He turned back to face the king, "My apologies sire for the interruption."

Johar waved a hand dismissively. "It's quite alright, Rutack. Just because I'm the king that doesn't mean I'm all-knowing, or even wise for that matter. Kings are chosen through lineage after all; their brains don't take part in the matter. I asked for their questions, so there is no reason to scold them so." Turning his gaze toward Tobi, Johar proceeded to answer each of the questions thrown at him in turn. "I understand your concern, but I have taken precautions. The reason for the pairings is so that you may support and offer protection to one another. Besides that, with your connection to dragons, they will hopefully be able to sense if you are in danger and do something to stop it, and vice versa. Until something happens, if or when it does, you will investigate the area. Talk to the people about the deaths and disappearances, scrutinize the locations where the tragedies ocurred, keep a watch for any other strange or suspicious happenings. Anything that could help lead to a conclusion to this crisis."

Looking to Mikash next, he continued, "It is true, the soldiers are here for the protection of Fargona. However, few of them have connections to magic and, unless there is a Dragon Tamer hiding among them, none have a connection to dragons. Thus, none of them are suited for these circumstances. You Dragon Tamers, however, have at least a little magic, and are strongly bonded to dragons. That does not mean that there will not be help from my end. Guards will be stationed in the towns to help you if needed."

"Now, if that is all, I shall assign pairs." His eyes roved over the group calculatingly, and he noted that only four tamers were present. After a moment of thought, he nodded slowly to himself. "Rutack ShadowBlade and Thia Rondamar, you will be stationed in the desert village of Kin'unda. That is where the most recent occurrences have happened. Tobi Gustav, you shall be the messenger. However, I would also like for you to investigate the areas where the population of wild dragons has been decreasing when you aren't delivering messages. Mikash Blinov, you shall accompany Thia and Rutack until another Dragon Tamer arrives. I'll assign you a different location once I have a partner for you."

Nodding to himself once again as if to confirm that he'd passed on all necessary information, the king clapped his hands together. A moment later, a servant came in holding a small pouch in one hand. After passing the pouch to the king, the servant bowed briefly then stood to the side and a little behind the throne. Reaching into the pouch, Johar pulled out a small white sphere, only about an inch in diameter. "While I do not have a large company of sorcerers to fight for me, I do have a few living within Issathon, and they have made these upon my request. It occurred to me that you would all need a way to contact the messenger if you needed him. These will allow you to do just that." He rummaged around in the pouch for another moment, then pulled his hand out to reveal another white sphere, except this one had a small engraving of a celestial on it. "Focus a small amount of magic into your orb and it will travel to this orb." He raised the second orb up for them to see better. "This orb will turn red, which is a sign that one of the Tamers requires assistance. The moment he messenger touches the orb, the location of the summoner will immediately be transferred to their mind. The messenger as well can alert the rest of the Dragon Tamers to his location the same way, for safety measures in case he runs into any trouble. Unfortunately, magic is still being redeveloped, and a more efficient communication spell has not been created."

After replacing the spheres inside the pouch, the king motioned to the servant and handed him the pouch again. The servant then proceeded to pass each Dragon Tamer an orb, first ensuring that Tobi received the one with the dragon on it. Thia, a scowl of annoyance fixed on her features since she heard that she would be partnered with Rutack, didn't even glance at the pristine object before slipping into an inner pocket on her coat and pulling a string to close the opening so that the sphere wouldn't fall out. Katul, laying curled by Thia's feet, was already eying the Infiltrator as he sensed his Tamer didn't like the idea of traveling with him.

Rutack ShadowBlade

Johar waved a hand dismissively. "It's quite alright, Rutack. Just because I'm the king that doesn't mean I'm all-knowing, or even wise for that matter. Kings are chosen through lineage after all; their brains don't take part in the matter. I asked for their questions, so there is no reason to scold them so." The king then proceeded to answer the questions posed by Tobi, and Mikash. the answers were as what Rutack expected, he guessed he knew more about what was going on than he previously thought. The infiltrator continued listening to the King's reasoning with the other two, then finally the moment Rutack was waiting for. The Pairing

Rutack listened intently to the king, "Rutack ShadowBlade and Thia Rondamar, you will be stationed in the desert village of Kin'unda. I'll assign you a different location once I have a partner for you."

ok so Rutack was partnered with Thia... he did wonder at this idea considering their uniquely shared past. Oh, well it cannot be helped. The king continued to speak concerning some small spheres or orbs that were created for this purpose. the existence of these orbs somewhat caught Rutack off guard, he hadn't known of the plan for these to be created. Rutack looked at his, and decided it would be wise to test it out, he focused a small amount of magic and pressed it through his thumb into the orb.

Rutack got a sense that he was being watched, and glanced to see Thia's dragon, who was laying at her feet, glaring at him, distrust was in its eyes, "fair enough" Rutack said indiferently to the dragon, addressing it's distrust, and to the fact that he and Thia were partners. Even the Infiltrator as good as he was couldn't see that coming. He then put the orb into a hidden pouch on the inside of his armor, the pouch was well padded so it wouldn't let the orb get damaged.

Tobi Gustav

Upon hearing the King's words Tobi nodded understandingly. Although his concerns weren't fully quelled, the King obviously knew what he was doing. After dismissing his doubts, he then began to the think of what the people at the assigned locations would be like. Would they be gracious of our assistance or would they be suspicious and uncooperative given their situation and numerous unexplained casualties. Before Tobi's mind could wander more, King Johar had assigned their positions. Tobi himself was bestowed messenger; a very important role for the mission's success. He would not be directly partner with anyone, but will rather be on the move rallying information. Tobi had no issues with the position and nodded his to the King subsequently.

The King then explained the usage and significance of the orbs while distributed them among the dragon tamers. "Fascinating...", Tobi said to himself as he marveled at the small orb. He was impressed with Johar's innovative use of magic to ease the difficulty of the mission. Suddenly his sphere, started to glow red as it had been contacted by another orb. Looking to his left, he is met with a grin by Ruttack, showing his own pearl to Tobi. "Looks like the're working just fine", he said smiling back to Ruttack and placing the small sphere securely in his pocket.

After hearing what the king had to say,Mikash nodded and said "fair enough." Mikash started to think if King Johar was going to pair them up or send them alone. King Johar announced that he was pairing them up and the groups were"Rutack ShadowBlade and Thia Rondamar, and will be stationed in the desert village of Kin'undar and Tobi Gustav as the messenger. Mikash Blinov, you shall accompany Thia and Rutack until another Dragon Tamer arrives. I'll assign you a different location once I have a partner for you." Said King Johar.

Mikash nodded and looked in their direction and started to think that he doesn't know them so he better be ready for anything to happen. Despite the fact that he is still searching for the bear that killed his brother and the fact that his brother is no longer apart of this world he needs to always be ready for anything. With a suspicious look he looks away. The king held up an orb and told everybody what it does. The servant gave an orb to each person in the room. Mikash looked at the orb with curiosity. Looking at it he put a small amount of energy in the orb and put it in his satchel.

The voice of Tobi caught Rutack's attention, "Looks like the're working just fine", he said smiling back to Ruttack and placing the small sphere securely in his pocket. Rutack smiled back at Tobi. "Perfect." Rutack then turned to the king. "You are indeed modest, an unwise king would have wanted us to figure out our own way to communicate with each other." Rutack continued smiling, to be honest he was eager at begin this little adventure of theirs.

Rutack then heard a deep ground shaking roar, sensations of excitement and wonder came from Shade's side of the bond. Rutack could only smile at this. Rutack wandered over to the nearby window and saw Shade happily pacing and energized by their combined anticipation and eagerness. Shade was causing quite a bit of panic among the citizens, which caused Rutack to start laughing his sly and mysterious laughter, for a few seconds before he returned to his composer. His laughter was like when he was younger when he and Thia were schoolmates and closer friends, his laughter had always been dark and mysterious, causing many to call it an "Evil laugh".

Rutack smiled as these memories as they came and went. "Ah, memories sweet memories." He mumbled to himself, still smiling.

Thia Rondamar

Thia Rondamar was not in a good mood. Not only was the king making her partner with someone, her partner was the one person she'd much rather not have any contact with. Not that she wanted contact with anyone in the first place; Rutack was just especially irritating.

As she stood, stoically waiting for the king to dismiss them, the doors to the room swung open and Hallum hurried in. He spared the gathered Tamers a quick glance before walking past them to kneel before Johar, proffering a scroll to the king. "I apologize for the wait, Majesty. I wanted to ensure that the list was complete."

The servant stationed in the room took the scroll from Hallum, who then rose. "Thank you, Hallum. You're actually just in time," Johar said, nodding his thanks and dismissal to the Captain. Hallum did a short bow then strode out of the room to leave the king to complete the meeting. The servant once again approached Tobi and handed the scroll to him as the king explained, "These are the areas that have reported low numbers of wild dragons, and are the places you will visit when you are not gathering messages."

When Tobi opens the scroll, he will see this written:
Essend Sea
Skelsaugh
Oress Marshland
Gardar Beach
Oldkin Desert
Tydraran Range

"That is all. You may leave now. I'd suggest resting in Issathon for the night before continuing to your designated locations."

Finally dismissed, Thia left the room, Katul following quickly at her heels and disappearing into the shadows of the hallway beyond the doors. Rutack could either follow or find her later - or, preferably, just leave her be until they absolutely had to speak, though she doubted she would be that lucky. Another frown came upon her features; Kin'unda was on the far side of Fargona. It would take days to travel there by land, so she'd either have to hire a ride or get one from Rutack. As much as she disliked the idea of getting help from the infiltrator, she doubted she would be able to find anyone else who would be willing to carry a tatzelwurm with them on their dragon, so she wouldn't have much of a choice. However, she wasn't in any mood to request help at the moment. She'd talk to him in the morning.

She didn't meet any resistance on her way out of the castle; it seemed news of the Tamers arriving had spread and they now knew not to interrupt their path. The sun was barely a glimmer above the horizon as Thia hurried through the now abandoned streets to the inn she most commonly frequented on her rare visits to Issathon. Of course, she could have gone to her parents mansion within the inner walls, but she didn't see any point in returning to her parents like some prodigal child. The inn she finally stopped at wasn't in the best condition, but that was the point. If she visited one of the more lavish inns deeper within the city, any nobility stopping by for a drink could recognize her. Here, she was just a well known mercenary stopping by for a rest. The innkeeper recognized her immediately and waved her over. They didn't exchange any words as Thia dropped a silver coin onto the counter to pay for her room, and they didn't need to. He already knew what she wanted, and he also knew she wasn't one for idle chatter, unless she was looking for information.

The room was small and simple, but kept clean, thanks no doubt to the innkeepers wife. Thia bolted the door shut, though she doubted the flimsy device would hold against a pounding of any kind. At least this way she would hear it. Her sword she unsheathed and placed on the bedside table so she wouldn't have to deal with the hassle of removing it from the scabbard if she needed it quickly.

The shadow that was Katul flashed briefly into view in the faint candle light before it disappeared beneath the bed, once again blending with the rest of the shadows. He would remain there through the night, alert and ready should any danger threaten his Tamer in the night.

"Im finally free to leave." Mikash thought to himself. "I'll go set up camp outside Issathon", Mikash said as he walked past Alexander. He walked out and mounted his horse. As he mounted his horse he noticed a boy looking for food. Mikash headed over to the boy. ''Are you hungry?'' Mikash said in a kind voice. The boy nodded '' Yes sir.'' Mikash handed him the rest of his venicen. ''Thank you.'' said the little boy as Mikash headed to the gate.

Mikash headed out to the woods. He gathred dry wood and set up a shelter made of leaves, mud and wood. Mikash pulled out steel and some flint from his bag. He struck the steel with the flint and made a camp fire. As soon as he sat down he heard rustling sounds in the bushes and a small growl behind him. Mikash drew his katana and used parry counter. It stunned the thing that snuck up behind Mikash and he stabbed it.

Leaving the katana burried in the assailant, Mikash grabbed a branch from the campfire. The glow from the torch revealed it was a monstrous wolf. He knew there would be more coming, so he grabbed his bow and released an arrow into the wolfs heart, making sure it was dead. He took the arrow and his katana and climed up in a nearby tree. As he climbed he could hear low growling slowly growing by the base of the tree. Mikash started to shoot at the wolves as they tryed to climb the tree. The branch he was standing on cracked. Mikash slipped and hung from a branch above him. One of the wolves latched onto his leg with its razor-sharp teeth and tried pulling him down. Mikash tried to hang on. From the weight of both man and beast, with a loud crack the branch broke off and the two plumeted to the ground bring down most of the lower branches with them. With debris crashing to the ground, most of the wolves did not survive. Mikash drew his katana and tried to escape to the camp. Injured from wolves and the fall, he struggled to run. Hearing a loud roar behind him Mikash turned to try to parry counter, but the wolf pounced on him and pinned him to the ground. Mikash dropped his katana and he held the wolf by the upper part of it's throat. He grabbed his skinning knife and stabbed the creature in it's snareling throat. The wolf fell on top of him. The dead weight felt crushing. With all the strength he coud muster, he flung the beast to the side. Feeling faint he slowly crawled to his bag and pulled out some herbs to slow the bleeding from the the gaping wounds on his torn leg. Pulling the linen cloth from his bag to wrap the injury, his brothers picture tumbled to the ground before him. That was the last thing he saw before he blacked out.

Rutack Shadowblade

Rutack waited for everybody to leave then when nobody was looking he slipped into the passageway hidden behind the king's mighty throne. Rutack hurried through the passageway on silent feet. he exited the passageway at the hidden doorway just outside the Dragon stables. he walked inside the stables.

Shade recognized his Tamer's sent and appearance and nuzzled Rutack when he got closer. Rutack rubbed the Shadow Drake's snout in a comforting manner, neither had to say anything they knew well enough what the other was thinking. Shade curled up to sleep, and Rutack prepared himself to sleep in the bed nearby. Rutack thought for a moment about all of what had just happened.

He was partnered with Thia which as far as he was aware of she didn't know much about his dragon. they were sent on a mission that is fatal for all but brings about allot more benefit to all as well. he laid down in his bed looking up at the roof that covered Shade's Stable. he whistled a little tune he has always remembered a tune of "the Dragon Flute", an old song that told a story. the song and it's tune was supposedly enchanted of sorts, it attracts dragons and on silent nights like this it echoes and can travel allegedly a good half-mile before it become silent and a struggle to hear. then his whistling broke into the song.

come to the land
where dragons and men live in peace
where power is shared to all
and those who dare
become the mighty in the dragon's lair

his song continued even as his eyes grew heavy the song was clear.

an ancient piece I give you
a flute of magic a song of life
when light dims and life is drained
Play the Flute
Sing my song
and the songs of dragons and help will come

when death comes to your door
wanting to take your life
play the Flute of Dragons
the Dragon flute
and your life will be renewed
and your life will be...
...renewed

Rutack's eyes closed, his head slumped to the side as he went to sleep. the song "The Dragon Flute" ended and sleep took the minds of all who could hear to the realm of dreams.

Tobi Gustav

Tobi took the scroll and thoroughly observed its locations. He was sure he had visited most of the sites before, with the exception of the Essend Sea and Oress Marshland. However during that time, he had no real knowledge of the mysterious epidemic that is sweeping the lands of Fargona. The closest location from Issathon would be Skelsaugh. Although Triton and himself disdained the cold regions, it wouldn't much sense to put it off until later and making a round trip back. Once Tobi exited the castle walls headed straight to the shops to quickly buy clothes suitable for enduring the cold Northern climate of Skelsaugh.

After the Dragon tamer was done shopping, he immediately headed over to the dragon stables where Triton very eagerly greeted him and almost stumbled over the gate as Tobi opened to let his Light Drake out. Although Issathon provided an Inn for weary travelers, the two companions had been accustomed to camping out in the wilderness. As such they did just that at the same spot they had been the night before arriving to the city. Triton's wings and warmth provided a sturdy blanket of warmth through the night as they always had.

As the evening dipped into moonlit twilight, Tobi found himself reaching into his pocket for the pearl to assure it was there. It was and he seal it back into his pouch. The dragon tamer found himself talking aloud quietly, reciting what his plan of course of travel be after they take off from the grounds of the forest. However he wasn't awake long before his golden dragon hushed him back to sleep.

The Green Knight

Alexander nodded as his partner said, "I'll go set up camp outside of Issathon." Alexander was never any good at setting up camp. He normally just buried himself in Brenton's chest and wings for warmth, and it was almost never cold where Alexander went.

"Good man. I'll gather all the supplies we might need." Alexander was a man who would pack things that one would never consider bringing in the slightest chance that they might need it. "I'll be along shortly." He watched Mikash ride out on his horse and mounted Brenton. If people knew he was a dragon rider, he was bound to get some good deals. He didn't necessarily have a lot of gold, so it would have to do. "Forward ho, Brenton." He gave the soft command, just quiet enough so only Brenton could here. The Kirin lurched forward, taking care not to step on anybody. Alexander took his time looking at the city. It was all very lovely, but there were too many people. Alexander preferred to be alone or only with a couple of people. Never more than that. "My my...Would you look at that?" He saw that Mikash fellow give a young boy his game. Alexander automatically decided that he would like this quiet fellow. "Baldwin, we struck gold." The dragon gave a faint nod, but other than that it did not turn from its path to the general store.

When the pair arrived at the store, Alexander dismounted the Kirin with incredible speed and agility. He gave a faint knock and opened the door. "Hello?" The owner of the store came out and burst into laughter once he saw the color of Alexander's armor. The young knight decided to ignore the affront. "I'm here to buy some supplies. King's buisness, you see." He knew that mentioning the King would draw some attention.

"Yes suh." His heavy-set accent was very hard to translate, but Alexander could manage it. "A servant of his majesty came earlier. We 'ave an order for you and a Mi...Mikash bloke. I'll bring it right out." He disappeared into the storage room and came back with a large crate. He seemed rather strong, especially for his stature. "'Ere we are." He opened the crate to reveal two water skins, a load of dried meat, some fruit, and some other medicinal herbs. "You 'on't be needin' to pay for that." He gave a courteous bow.

"Thank you, my good man." Alexander gave a polite nod, and carried the crate outside. Once he finished distributing the various items amongst Brenton's saddle bags, he mounted up and rode towards the city gate. He gave the shopkeep a wave goodbye, and looked forward. "Brenton, my friend, this is going to be a journey of epic proportions." The Forest Kirin gave a roar of excitement, scaring many nearby women and children, and even some tough looking men. The Green Knight chuckled and patted the dragon on its haunches. "Wait until we're out the city."

He entered the forest and began his search for the camp. He found it nestled in a small clearing, just large enough for two humans and a dragon or two. He smiled upon finding the camp, but it was soon wiped clear off his face when he found Mikash, injured and unconcious. "Damn! I'm late!" He saw a couple of monstrous wolves, obviously slain by the dragon tamer. "He got 'em. Good." He immediately cleaned and bandaged the wound on Mikash's leg, and drew his sword. Not a moment too soon, a wolf burst into the clearing. "Nice wolf...Niiice wolf." The Green Knight didn't approve of killing animals, seeing as he had adopted the Kirin's way of vegitarianism, but he saw the necessity of it. He swung his shield from his around his back and charged the beast. It leapt at him with great speed, but Alexander swung his shield directly at its face, knocking it down. While it was stunned, he swung his sword in a downward arc, completely removing the beast's head. He stood back and caught his breath. His armor may have been light, but it got heavy after a good deal of moving. He turned back and walked towards the camp. He moved Mikash onto one of his sleeping-skins and took a seat on a nearby log. "Well, Brenton, we're on guard duty."

Thia Rondamar

The morning found Thia already awake and walking through the streets of Issathon. There weren't many people out this early, which was precisely why she had left at this time; she didn't want to be slowed down by the throng of people that would later crowd the streets. This throng was only just beginning to form when she reached the gates of the city.

She didn't go far after leaving the city; as much as she wanted to just leave him behind, she had to wait for Rutack. And so, she stood with her arms crossed impatiently beneath a tree by the roadside, only a few meters away from the gate. Katul was nowhere in sight - his threatening appearance was not needed at the moment. His shadow was somewhere along the treeline, indiscernible amongst the many other shades that clouded the ground.

Before yesterday, Thia had not seen Rutack since her departure from Issathon. They'd been acquaintances as children; maybe even friends. He hadn't exactly been a noble; just the son of one of a knight. Thus, Thia hadn't had as much of a problem interacting with him as she might've had with a noble's child. As she neared the point when she would rebel against her parents and leave Issathon, however, they had become more distant. In all honesty, she was glad of this; she didn't need friendship tempting her to stay when adventure and freedom awaited.

And now here she was, teamed up with the man she now considered to be quite the nuisance. It would bring her great joy to get this mission over with and be rid of him.

Mikash Blinov

Mikash was having a dream about his brother Genistiege. "Mikash Im going to go hunting for food. "I'll be back in the afternoon" said Genistiege as he grabbed his bow, katana, and a mysterious object wrapped in animal skin. "Whatever", Mikash said as he watched Genistiege leave the camp. Genistiege set out to Mt. Damor, buried the mysterious object in the dirt, then set a few rocks by it to hide it. He spotted a rabbit, crouched down and released an arrow at it.

Genistiege walked in the door. "What are we having tonight?" asked Mikash. "We are having rabbit." Genistiege replyed as he grabbed the firewood. "Mikash this is how you start a fire" Genistiege said while pulling some flint and steel out of his satchel. Mikash came over for a demonstration. Genistiege showed Mikash how to make a spark then gave Mikash the flint and steel. Mikash struck the flint against the steel and started a small fire". Good job Brother" Genisteige said excitedly. Mikash and his brother went to sleep after there meal. Genistiege awoke at day break finding a note beside him. He read the note. "Dear hunter, you have been selected as one of the few hunters to hunt a monstrous bear. We have had reports of a large bear around Orill Creek terrorizing travelers from Oslermor Village. We want you to slay the creature and bring it's claws back to us. As a reward, we will give you a crate of hunting supplies. signed His Majesty's Royal Guard.
Genistiege wrote a letter to Mikash and stashed it behind the portrait of himself in his brother's tent then set out to slay the bear.

Mikash regained his consciousness. He walked outside to look for his things. Mikash notices that alexander sitting on a log next to his dragon. Wow those to were keeping watch while I was unconscious." Mikash thought to himself and with a small smile. Mikash walked quietly past them and retrieved his belongings and was quietly heading back to the tent.
