The Argent Tournament

Trainer! Are you looking for the ultimate test of your skills and knowledge, for the chance to prove yourself once and for all?

Then the Argent Tournament is the perfect challenge for you. It is a world-wide tournament in the region of Oras [see below], designed to be the ultimate challenge of wits and battling skill. What's more? The prize for the champion is a secret, legendary Pokémon that cannot be defeated in battle. All yours, if you manage to best every other contestant and become the number one trainer in the world! But taking part is no simple task; you have to participate in three events, the Colosseum Challenges, which take place in different areas of the region. These Challenges work as qualifier rounds. Only when you (in a group of 16 people) emerge victorious in all 3 of the Colosseum Challenges will you earn the right to participate in the Argent Tournament.

The Argent Tournament is hosted by Horizon Corporation, which also promotes the start of new trainers, like yourself. As such, we will be giving you a starter Pokémon, along with a complimentary Poképad (which also works as a Pok
édex) to help you in your journey! You will travel far and wide through the region of Oras, meet new people, catch more Pokémon, gain experience with them, complete quests, and face a darker threat that looms over the region...

Good luck trainer, you'll need it.

Ha! First!

Name: Danny "Danny Boy" Lewis
Gender: Male
Age: 18

Appearance:
Spoiler:

Background: (2-3 paragraphs)

Personality:
Danny is an interesting guy. He's quiet, shy, awkward, and oddly brave. He knows he isn't the strongest in the world, nor the most socially adept, but he knows he has a big brain. He's quite intelligent, very clever, and extremely inventive. He is always looking for something to invent, which led him to create his handy-dandy watch. He uses it for many things, such as a communications device, a music player, and a data analyzer. (Toxicity level in the environment and whatnot) Danny Boy is always looking for something to improve, something to better. He wants to help the world become a better place through science and inventions. It's his dream to become a master scientist and develop life-saving technologies.

Starter: Venus the Bulbasaur
Venus is incredibly competitive for a Bulbasaur. Professor Nimbus, upon delivery, told Jimmy that Venus' inner fire exceeds that of a fire type, meaning that Hell (Not Michigan) would freeze over before he would give up, even it was just a friendly battle between rivals. Venus is normally docile when not doing anything of extremeness, such as eating, sleeping, or just laying around, but the second a battle comes up he's up in arms. He'd gladly take on the entire Elite Four by himself...As a Bulbasaur.

Name: Trevor Dean
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Appearance:
Spoiler:

Background: Born in Floccesy Town Unova region, Trevor was brought up in a town that defined a large sum of his character. The town itself was on the south-western corner of the region and was a very calm area. Not very much tended to go on. On such a small area of Unova and an only child, Trevor didn't have many companions. Much of his time was spent alone, doing things such as drawing or nature walking through the ranch. However, one day Trevor met Alder, the former champion of Unova. He instantly admired the former champion's laid-back and carefree nature and understanding of pokemon. Soon Trevor eagerly visited Alder to learn about caring for Pokemon and to watch trainers, both veterans and newcomers visit Alder for the same reason.

After a long while of seeing new trainers come and go, Trevor was also thinking about what to do. He knew deep inside he wanted to become a trainer himself, however there was also a hint of doubt in himself; that he might not be a sufficient trainer and be mediocre like everything else he did. Eventually, he explained his situation to Alder. The former champion explained to the teenager that if he trusted his partners, then there would be nothing he couldn't accomplish. Once Alder saw that Trevor took this to heart, he handed him a flyer showcasing the Argent Tournament. Trevor accepted the flyer and applied, deducing that he had nothing to loose. Little did young trainer-to-be know that he would've been lucky enough to be selected.

Now on his way to the Oras region, his new goal is achieve a greater level of confidence and achieve the highest feet of strength with his Pokemon team.

Personality: Growing up, Trevor was known to be a simple kid that never stood out as extraordinary to many others. Although he always performed well in activities or subjects he enjoyed, there was nothing that Trevor excelled greatly in. Accepting this fact a long time ago, he developed a carefree and laid back attitude that applied itself to anything he got involved in. Wherever Trevor goes, a cool and friendly atmosphere follows. It was rare to catch him complain or being discouraged about trivial matters. When there is nothing to do, time is often passed by listening to music or sketching.

Although not very direct in conversation, he makes sure everyone around him kept in good spirits and in good health as well. Such qualities made him revered as an indispensable friend whenever someone was lucky enough meet him. In fact, one thing you could consider extraordinary about him was attributed to his ability to appeal to many and not be one to hold grudges or ill will.

By virtue of his character, Trevor tries to make the best out of everything new experiences he decides to take on. Although he may try 'new' things, he'll rarely take on situations that take him away from his comfort zone. As such, it can be summarized that Trevor thrives in environments he's used to or has made sure wouldn't be uncomfortable. This is simply due to the fact he enjoys and intends to keep things simple and uncomplicated. When operating alone, you can expect him to be sluggish, unsure, or unmotivated if the task doesn't appeal to him. He would often be scorned by adults that observe this somewhat complacent quality. Wherever he went, there was a constant reminder from critical adults that with his attitude, he wouldn't amount to much if he continued to act like that. Despite that, he has overtime learned to disregard what others say to or about him and be happy with himself. Trevor even usually finding himself becoming accustomed or tolerant of daunting situations over time.

Starter: Dynamite, the Tepig

Dynamite could be described as jolly and mellow. The Tepig is sociable with others and is generally accepting and unfazed by strangers. Very innocent and trusting, some would consider him 'too friendly'. Although Dynamite his an extremely capable battler with a naturally high aptitude, he's generally not very competitive and enjoys seeing the glory bestowed upon others rather than himself. Despite that, the sheer loyalty and commitment the Tepig poured into Trevor is enough for them both to eventually realize their potential, regardless of previous barriers.

WOOT IT'S FINALLY UP! *Explodes from happiness* By the way, WIP here.

Name: Sean Webster
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Appearance:
Spoiler:

Background: Sean was born in the land of Johto, more specifically in Violet city. He grew up like other children and acted like them as well. He played with his peers, had play dates with other families, and went to various social events such as birthdays and parties. His home life was similar to any other child's. His father and mother loved him dearly and he was their star child… mostly because he was their only child.

When Sean entered middle school, something changed though. He became the target of bullying. On the worst days it seemed as if the whole school was out to get him. Numerous students for one reason or another found him quite easy to pick on. Maybe it was because of his eagerness to learn? Maybe it was because he was friendly with a few unpopular kids? Whatever the reason, they formed a united group against him.

As the years in middle school passed, Sean one day snapped. He had enough. One would think that in such a state of rage he would attack one of the other kids, but he played it smart. He had spent time browsing among the books in the library and happened upon the topic of great speeches given by leaders of the world. He learned not only by reading, but also by practice. Initially his efforts failed against his peers, but with time his rhetoric got better and his delivery more subtle.

He observed those around him to understand weaknesses and quickly began to work on turning his tormentors against each other. However the experience left him feeling jaded. Instead of finding more friends, he would keep to himself, only talking to those who would talk to him. In rare cases he could even get rid of a troublesome student by offering false evidence. Teachers found him very persuasive and wouldn't doubt him for an instant when he would bring his complaints of a student to their attention. By the end of middle school he had gained a reputation for rooting out corruption… but at the cost of his own morals. He found himself gaining the mindset his own tormentors had. If he found someone who saw through his speech he was quick to set up false evidence to get him in detention or even expelled.

Now 17 he sees a new way to live. He knows that everyone has an agenda for themselves, so he makes sure to set his own agenda above theirs. He has just recently accepted an invitation to a tournament of sorts. Seeing it as a good way to get ahead in the world and have a jump start on his peers. The knowledge of obtaining a legendary wasn't that easy to ignore either, and so he stepped forth to have yet another advantage in this world.

Personality: Sean isn't one for showing emotions, oh no, he lets everyone else around him get emotional. It's how he works after all. Simply put, Sean doesn't care about another's feelings. He doesn't care if you lose a beloved friend, or if you are injured in some way. If your pain gifts him with a boon, he'll hurt you. If you have to be kept safe to give him an advantage, he'll likewise follow that course of action. It isn't that he's evil or such; more along he just finds it easy to manipulate those around him, too easy in fact.

To those that Sean 'befriends' they often find themselves being told various rumors that Sean has heard about others. These rumors can range from hearing about name-calling to telling another that someone else is working to cause a rift between others. From there, he'll tell about whatever weaknesses he has gathered about the 'bully' and from there, he sits back and watch as two perfectly innocent souls attack each other with pure ferocity.

Sean sees such anger as the only way to get things done. How do you impassion a man to get rid of a president? You let him think that the president was doing wrong that very well could harm the man and his family. How can you tear two friends apart and make them weaker as a result? Let one think that the other is using him and is no true friend. Such tactics are easy enough to do if you care not about those involved.

Those who are smart worry Sean. Those who are intelligent enough to see through his misdirection could very well inform others of who he is. With such a fear on his mind, he avoids those who show a knack for cunning and placing intelligence above emotion. Because of that he also avoids using psychic type pokemon. His perfect training method is to make a pokemon empowered by making it fuel its wage. Just like with intelligent humans, intelligent pokemon would most likely see through this haze and either disobey him or in turn attack him instead for trying to manipulate them in such a way.

Starter: Torchic (Cataclysm, Cata for short)

When Sean first picked up Cataclysm, he was taken a bit off guard with the ferocity the young pokemon displayed. Surprising the Torchic was one to tackle anything that moved in front of it and was even told that it had to be separated from the other pokemon for fear that it would harm them. Of course, Sean was eager to find such a angry pokemon, it meant he could convert such anger into a eagerness for potential training.

Penance smirked at them all in turn. Well, they were all mad, and rather to a high degree at that! Sir, the Gallade is already pushing away all the connections, like you said he would. Should we start him up on it now?

Penance closed his eyes, a small smile still on his bill, No, keep him still in range though. He'll be needed for later of course.

The Golduck regarded Truestriker, "Yes, don't worry Hanso, you defeated the big bad psychics links on your mind." At that the group of psychics chuckled lightly. "Though you should keep that defense up, it'll help you much later on." He said with a nod. "For now though, Paladin is fine at the moment. He'll be sleeping for some time though... or it could be shorter, depending on WHEN he wants to wake up. And no Zane, I have nothing to answer for. This is the way things start so for now we put that history aside." He chuckled softly, "And what makes you think we haven't been planning? That's what we do Vigil... plan."

One of the Alakazams spoke up, "Penance. They found the note, a kill all order is being ordered by the end of the day."

The Golduck closed his eyes and thought for a bit, nodding after a while. "Hm, quicker than I thought. Alright, follow me. Have strategies 48, 52, and 104 on standby. The Alakazam nodded and teleported away along with the rest of the psychics as Penance walked over to a wall and pushed against it, revealing a doorway, "Well come on Goldies. We need to get going." He stated as he headed out of the door.

Once everyone would step out they would see that the whole area outside was actually like a small town. There were houses made out of stone here, a small pond of water that was situated near a grassy plains with some trees on it to provide the oxygen of course, and lots of pokemon about. While it wasn't anything as close to having a population that lived up top in Cape City, there were still a bunch of 'mon walking about. It seemed everyone was busy at the moment. There were fire types heating up metal and fighting types using hammers to smooth out iron sheets they were working on. It seemed that there were several areas being dug into as psychic aided the diggers by moving away any large dirt piles that accumulated behind them.

The majority of pokemon didn't bother to awknowledge them as they walked past with Penance and the Golduck stopped near the a part of the floor and knelt down, "Alright, we have mapped out this part already, but we still are unable to find that gold crystal. It must be hidden." He stated. Right on the ground was a rather massive map. The locations of various tunnels had been marked on the map and there were more recent marks detailing patrol routes of the Ancients as well as new ways to enter the city above via newly dug tunnels. "Alright, with this map finding the gold crystal will be easy. Look it over then. If you need any help just call for Lashire, he should be around here somewhere."

He glanced over at another building. "When you all are done and you have the location head over there. Go in and you can shop around. Don't take too long though." He stated as he walked off and headed toward several other pokemon that were clustered around a board that had lots of writing on it and began to consult with them.

Here is just a placeholder:

Finished it.

Name: Abigail "Abi" Melrone

Gender: Female

Age: 18

Appearance: (Will get a picture up soon).

Standing at an average 5'6", Abi is not too tall nor too short for someone of her gender. She has a slender build, and isn't too twiggy, however she does have a feminine figure. Her bust size is nothing special, slightly below average. Her dark brown hair is usually tied into a ponytail which reaches just below her shoulders, but she occasionally puts it into a bun or even leaves it open when she feels like it. She has green eyes, her face is rather clean and free from acne or scars, and she is often considered good looking or cute by boys.

For clothing, Abi wears a jean jacket on top of a short, bright red dress, that ends a little bit above the knees. She wears a white belt with a white buckle around her waist with the dress. For shoes, Abigail wears short, brown cowboy-style boots, however her style tends to change every so often, so she likes to switch it up for certain trends. She also wears an expensive silver necklace, with the centre locket being the outline of a Gardevoir.

Background: One of the three children, Abi's father is an incredibly rich businessman. Creating his own empire, her father owns a large majority of PokeMarts, and was part of the plan to integrate them with Pokemon Centers. Living in a large mansion on her family's estate, Abigail grew up in the outskirts of Sunnyshore City in Sinnoh. Growing up, she was mostly homeschooled, and when she could, she would boss around the housemaids and waiters. Her two older brothers were usually out and about doing their own things, or taking random etiquette classes. Her oldest brother Zachary, 23, is currently engaged with a girl from another wealthy family and working with his father at the firm, whilst Damien, her youngest oldest brother (19), is busy working out his own problems. Damien has a habit of spending a lot of money, and showing off which often gets him into trouble with his mother and father.

Then comes Abigail, who left to do her own stuff. She mostly took an interest in battling from her brother Damien, who likes to battle as well, but when he is not around, she's left to use the Pokemon on the estate and battle against the housemaids, butlers, waiters or whoever she could find around the house. Sadly, the Pokemon on the estate were rather lazy from being fed all day and doing nothing, so they weren't exactly battle material. However, one day, her opportunity came to finally reach her battling dreams. Her father had a business meeting in Oras, and Abi knew that they hold the Argent Tournament there and televise and stream it live. Other than family vacations, Abi had never seen much of other regions. She was never allowed to go out and 'venture' the world, and other than a few rich friends that would come over for business meetings, she didn't hang out much. Being the spoiled brat she is, her father gave in and let her go to Oras with him, and when he left to go back to Sinnoh, her journey in Oras would being.

Personality: Being a spoiled brat, Abi got most of what she wanted. If she asked for it, she would get it, and if that didn't work, she would often throw temper tantrums until she did. /as she grew older, her parents found this ridiculous, and eventually put her in anger management classes. Here, she learned not to hit people, as well as throw tantrums when angry. Although she may not realize it, she sometimes has a habit of being rude. This is due from living in a lavishing life-style her whole life, however her manners are usually on peak. Years of taking proper etiquette, has given her the knowledge needed to properly act like a lady when needed, such as during dining.

In her spare time during her teenage years, she would often go outside in the estate lawn with her brother Damien and have battles using the Pokemon available on the estate. She would usually make Zachary and the housemaids and butlers watch and act as spectators, and would yell if they didn't cheer for her.

Since she comes from a wealthy family, it would make sense she is in love with shopping. She loves to try on different clothing and shoes, and even if she doesn't like something, she more often than not buys it, as she believes she may wear it one day. She doesn't work, so she has no sense on how to handle money as her parents are literally walking ATMs, spitting out money whenever she needs it. She hates it when her clothes get dirty, or wet, and this can be one of the things that really set her off.

Name: Austin Yamaguchi

Gender: Male

Age: 22

Appearance: A tall, well-built man, Austin stands at some six feet two inches and weighs around 130 pounds. With a sharp, well-defined facial structure and an expression that seems to be permanently stuck on "grumpy", he could easily come off as intimidating, especially when one takes into account his far-from-scrawny physique. Oh, and he smokes. He's rarely ever seen without a long pipe or a cigar sticking out of his mouth.

Austin, being of Japanese-American descent (or Kantoese-Unovian, if you prefer), has little to no pigments attached to his person. He keeps his black hair in a short, messy cut that he can never be bothered to tidy up. He commonly wears a traditional Japanese garb, white in color, complete with a black sash and a yellow robe.

Pic: (due to my noobness, I can't post links, let alone pics :() http: //imgur com/AZRVCML (delete the space next to the http and replace the space between imgur and com with a dot)

Background: Austin was born to a Japanese mother and an American father, a product of an arranged marriage between their wealthy families. His father was a successful entrepreneur, whose company produced a large number of the potions in circulation back in the day. His mother, prior to her marriage, was a minor model-turned-actress. After she married, however, she began to turn her attention on literature, penning a couple of best-selling books before fading into obscurity.

Austin was born in the climax of his parents' lives. His father's business was booming, just as his mother's book sales were at its peak. With the steady flow of income, his parents were able to provide young Austin with facilities other kids could only dream of. He was entered into a plethora of courses in order to improve various aspects of his knowledge; by the time he was ten, he could speak four languages and had taken a liking to subjects others would probably avoid like the plague. He also developed a penchant for artistic pursuits, most prominently painting and songwriting.

Apart from that, however, Austin was a true, bred-and-born American. He grew up on hamburgers and football, went to summer camp, participated in boy-scouts, and a myriad of other activities that were normally off-limits for the upper class. However, at the age of twelve, his father decided to move to his home country, Japan, in order to expand his franchise. So the family packed up their belongings, made the trip, and settled into a prime residential area in Tokyo (or Goldenrod, I guess?). With help from Austin's influential extended family, the company was off to a good start in its expansion.

Austin, on the other hand, found himself in a foreign land. Though the culture barrier became problematic at times, he was quick to adapt (mostly due to his extensive education on Japanese language and culture), and soon enough he was perfectly accustomed to his surroundings. He graduated high school with flying colors and was offered a multitude of college scholarships almost immediately. He declined everything, however, and chose instead to become a Pokemon trainer. His parents vehemently stated their protests (and quite understandably so), but Austin was determined. After quite a bit of arguing, his parents finally consented. And off he went to Pokemon College (or whatever it's called), where he spent some four years learning the ins and outs of every single thing he needs to know to become a successful Pokemon trainer.

Personality: Austin is an intelligent and well-educated individual. He is well-versed in just about everything that has to do with Pokemon, and lots of things beyond that. He views his age as an advantage over his sprightly competitors, as with age comes experience: a commodity that's far more important than talent or strength, at least as far as he's concerned.

Austin's most prominent trait is probably his perpetual grumpiness. He seems to always be in a bad mood, but don't worry, you probably didn't do anything wrong. It's just the way he is. He's a grouchy, pessimistic old(er) man with a cynical view of the world and a sharp tongue to boot. Add to that his intimidating appearance and his unhealthy penchant for smoking (two packs a day, if you can imagine), and it's no wonder that everyone almost instantly avoids him on sight.

However, it would be a mistake to haphazardly conclude that there's nothing more to Austin than his giant a-hole syndrome. Underlying his no-nonsense exterior is a compassionate man who holds onto his moral values as if his life depended on it. He believes in camaraderie and friendship (though he'll quickly deny it) and is fiercely loyal to anyone he considers a friend. He might come off as the reliable big brother type if he wasn't so goddamn sarcastic all the time, but all the same, he is more than willing to offer a couple of pointers to his younger competitors.

Starter: Piplup is a mild and well-behaved Pokemon. He is fiercely loyal to his trainer and will do anything in order to satisfy him. He believes that keeping your cool in battle increases your chances of victory, and so he attempts to do just that. He never lets the heat of battle gets the best of him, and tries to keep a cool head so that he can receive his trainer's commands and execute them perfectly.

Manska here, your other GM. Seeing some good looking apps on here :) Ray has a lot of exams at the moment so likely there will be a gap of a week or two before we actually get this going, which will also give everyone time to work on their applications.

In regards to Donovan's question: When you enter a region, town or other such area you will be told what sorts of pokemon appear in that area.

Here's my SU. Still a W.I.P

Name: Danny "Danny Boy" Lewis
Gender: Male
Age: 18

Appearance:

Background: (2-3 paragraphs)

Personality:

He's quite intelligent, very clever, and extremely inventive. He is always looking for something to invent, which led him to create his handy-dandy watch. He wants to help the world become a better place through science and inventions. It's his dream to become a master scientist and develop life-saving technologies.

Danny knows he isn't a ladies' man, a rich man, or a strong man, but he still thinks he can be a hero. He is dying to become a hero. He is strangely brave, and will stand up to whoever challenges his friends without fear and will even start fights with guys three times his size if they pick on them...but he doesn't win. He was constantly beaten up throughout his younger years because he would try and help the losers in school in an attempt to be a hero, but it never worked out. Because of this he has developed a hatred of bullies, a fear of talking out of turn, and a love of Pokemon. Girls have always been a challenge for him to talk to, since he's so shy. But if he thinks the girl is worth it, he'll tell her exactly how he feels. He never had many friends, so he spent his time in his room tinkering with many devices, and playing with his favorite Pokemon, normally electric types like Magnemite, Voltorb, and Electrike. Because of this, Electric Pokemon are quite fond of him. Anyways...back to being a hero. Danny wants to save the world, make it a better place. He hates seeing it the way it is, run by corrupted politicians, populated with bullies, and strewn with the broken and needy.

Starter: Venus the Bulbasaur
Venus is incredibly competitive for a Bulbasaur. Venus is normally docile when not doing anything of extremeness, such as eating, sleeping, or just laying around, but the second a battle comes up he's up in arms. He'd gladly take on the entire Elite Four by himself...As a Bulbasaur.

Background: Kevin was born and raised in Goldenrod City in Johto. His father was an assistant manager at the Department Store and his mom worked in the Radio Tower. They both had their own Pokemon as companions, and as a kid, Kevin dreamed of becoming a Pokemon master, as many kids his own age did as well. He believed he could challenge all of the gyms as many had before him, and be the best he could be. His parents were all for him trying to fulfill his dream, and encouraged it. When he was old enough, he set out to find and capture his own Pokemon. With some help from his dad, his Pokemon, he set off to the surrounding Routes to capture his first Pokemon.

Kevin tried multiple times at first to catch his own Pokemon, but he failed every time and was unable to get a single one. He tried for days at a time, with a few close calls, but never a true success. His parents kept encouraging him to keep trying, and that he'd one day succeed, but other kids around, a lot of whom had already received their first Pokemon, kept teasing him because he couldn't do it. This was a huge blow to his confidence, one of many. Eventually, he was able to catch a Pokemon, or rather, his father was able to do it. Kevin now unofficially caught a Pokemon, a Nidoran, though he never felt it was truly his, as he was never the one to actually weaken it, or even throw the ball.

It was tough at first, as the Nidoran refused to obey Kevin, not in battle, outside of it, anywhere. He assumed it was because it wasn't truly his, but rather his dads, but his parents kept saying training came with practice. So Kevin continued to practice with it everyday. He made some progress, but even so, the Nidoran he had caught never truly was his own, and deep down inside, he felt it. Other kids teased him about it too, how he never actually caught his own Pokemon, and that this Nidoran belong to his dad. They also said because of that, he would never be good enough to become a great trainer, or for that matter be good enough to challenge any gym. A bit upset, but also angry, Kevin impulsively challenged the gym at Goldenrod.

Needless to say, he failed. Badly. He didn't even really reach the gym leader before he was knocked off by one of the other trainers. The last loss had done it for him. He went home a defeated and broken kid, and swore off Pokemon training forever. In fact, he had sworn off many things that day. Anything new or something that would require effort was immediately something he wouldn't be willing to do. He would work with his dad at the store quietly, while in his free time lazing about, feigning any signs of worry that others might give him. Eventually, others stopped bothering him because he didn't give any signs that it dented him much. He became a lazy, unmotivated individual, with no apparent future in front of him. And truthfully, Kevin seemed to prefer it like that.

However, when an opportunity for employment came to his parents from the Oras Region, the family packed up and moved there. Kevin protested at first, never liking the introduction of new things into his relatively stable and quiet life, but he eventually agreed after much convincing from his parents. It was good for them, he understood that, but it was also a chance for a fresh start for him. He dared to hope of what could come, mostly of the bad, but also of the chance for possibly something good to come out of it all.

As it so happened, an invitation waited for him to join a program. At first, he was completely against the idea, feigning interest to his parents while suggesting he didn't care for such things. Deep down inside, however, he didn't want to try this to only have to fail again. It took a while before he was finally convinced to try. He would participate one more time. He would take a chance, to see if he could go all the way. The goal for him now wasn't to become Pokemon champ, or even to win everything, to stand above all the rest. The goal was to give everything he had, to prove to others, but mostly to himself, that he could be as capable as anyone else. He would try his best, and he would lay it all on the line, and when he came out of this, he hoped would no longer be a failure. But more than that, he hoped he would no longer be afraid.

Personality: Kevin is often a humble, polite, and quiet kid. He isn't overly shy or nervous, however. Rather, he tends not to talk to much unless others initiate conversations with him. In this case, he'd be more than happy to converse with others.

Kevin was never the most lucky guy. He had tried and failed many things, never finding a calling that was right for him, or really a big talent that he could call exclusively his own. Because of all of these failures, and because of others adding fuel to the fire, he was never the most confident guy. He often grew up with letting others push over him and tell him what he could and couldn't do, and sometimes he let things like that get to him. Other times, even if he didn't believe it, he let them say it anyway, feeling he didn't have the confidence to answer back. Because of this, he became a person who was never highly motivated or wanted to do anything. He believed deep inside that anytime he would try, he would most likely fail. This led him to adapt a more laid back and lazy personality where it appears that he doesn't have any sort of ambition, nor cares for much of anything. But really, deep down, Kevin is simply afraid. He's afraid that if he tried anything again, he would fail. This fear of failure is what made Kevin not like to try.

Along with this, Kevin dislikes change, or the introduction of new things into his life. He seems content with a quiet, simple life with no chance of screw ups or failure.

Starter: Torrent the Totodile, though Kevin sometimes calls him "Tor" for short (Or he will when he gets him). Totodile is full of energy, eager to get into fights and come out on top. He can be mischievous on occasion, and very judgmental of people who he doesn't know or doesn't immediately trust. Those individuals often have to win his trust to be around him. Yet he is often the strongest motivational tool for Kevin to have the confidence in himself to win.

Name: Alicia Mose

Gender: Female

Age: 17

Appearance: Alicia stands about 5'6" with a slender body build. She has a healthy, sun-kissed, skin complexion, with bleach blonde hair that she keeps cut short, just down to her shoulders. The bangs of her hair line her face neatly, with a side-swept style along the right side of her face. Her eyes are a rich, chocolate brown color.

In terms of clothing, Alicia likes to dress in her own unique style. She wears a pair of laced, brown leather boots on her feet which extend to just below her knees. A pair of worn, yet durable and comfortable denim shorts rest on her legs, stopping just at thigh-level. She wears a brown tank top on her chest, which stops just short of her navel. Over top of the tank top, Alicia likes to wear her favorite, short-sleeved, pink, hooded jacket. To complete her look, Alicia wears a black wristband on her right wrist and a beige cycling hat on her head. There is a small, pink flower decoration in the hat. Her purple traveling bag is always by her side, hanging from her left shoulder.

Background: Alicia was born and raised in Vermilion City of the Kanto region. She is the middle child of three siblings, all of them girls. Alicia lived your average life. She went to school, had friends, went to slumber party and played sports... She did well at all of them, for the most part, but never really did anything that made her shine or stand out.

One could say it was because of this that despite her personality and outgoing nature, she sort of blended into the background when compared to her younger and older sisters. Her older sister is an academic prodigy. She is capable of taking even the most complex math problem and making it look like some sort of elementary level question such as "1 + 1". Meanwhile, Alicia's younger sister seems to excel much more at physical activity. She's graceful, with good endurance and what seems to be a natural knack for most things sport-related.

Needless to say that as Alicia grew older, she began to develop a bit of a jealousy towards the two girls. With both of them being so skilled in their respective talents, Alicia began to feel overshadowed, almost to the point as if she did not belong in her family. That is to say, she did not hate them by any means... She just felt like an outsider. Alicia had began to lose hope at ever finding that one thing that would make her stand out from among her sisters... that is until one day.

The young woman happened to spot a flyer for a tournament being held in the Oras region. Alicia smiled as she read the paper carefully, an idea starting to cook up in her head as her excitement began to grow. Neither one of her two sisters had ever shown the slightest interest in being a Pokemon trainer. Maybe... Just maybe, she could use the Argent Tournament to her advantage... To finally find that place where she belongs and stand as an individual among her siblings.

Personality: Alicia is a very friendly individual. She has quite the bubbly personality and always tries to put her best foot forward with every individual she happens to come across in life. Energetic and talkative, the girl has a habit of sometimes talking to much, rambling on about any subject that happens to cross her mind.

Alicia can also be a bit... airheaded and clumsy at times. She tends to have a weird speech habit, slipping into using words such as "like" a bit more often than those around her would probably like. Still, she remains cheerful, even if others may find her annoying. Her personal goal in life is to always keep finding that silver lining.

Starter: Rose the Snivy

Rose the Snivy is quite sassy in nature. She seems to have a slight attitude problem in which she sees herself as better than other Pokemon around her. More than somewhat vain and a bit spoiled in behavior, Rose will do whatever it takes to prove herself, even if it means stepping on other Pokemon along the way.
