Introduction

Miss Doronjo's / Arietta, the Wild's comments are in Bolded Royal Blue.
Drakow's are in Red.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

As the scientist worked in his scret lab that night, the lights went off. Everything was covered in a dark mist. As the scientist turned out the window, lightning struck. A shadowy figure could be seen. It was time for a battle.

So, I've had a battle with Drakow over some days ago, which was weird, but pretty awesome. Anyhow, I've got to give credit to Drakow for letting me use his layout, which is awesome. Anyway, enjoy, my friends!

Howdy Competitive Battle Centre. Had a really interesting match against Miss Doronjo recently, so we decided to make a battle log for it. My opponent put the effort into making this log so thank him for it. I just put my comments in and such. Anyway, onto the match!

Dragons...it's tough to play around dragons, especially with this sun team of mine. Hydriegon's going to be a pain, Latias is going to be annoying, and Scrafty's going to be tough. But, will science prevail? We shall see...

A Sun team. Have not faced many of these actually – especially recently. Will have to approach his team with a degree of caution. Magnezone cannot take on a Heatran and half of Overdark Dragon is vulnerable to Dugtrio. Biggest concern at the initial glance is Venasaur. It will outspeed all of Overdark Dragon and can potentially incapacitate a Pokemon with Sleep Powder too. The plan is to lead with Latias and set up protective screens and take off from there.

I switched out Latias here, and went to Porygon-2, because it's my best switch in for now. However, I'm kicking myself for not letting this thing have Toxic, but, it'll have to do. I decided to cahrge beam here, just to raise my special attack so that I'll have aneasier time Ice Beaming over his Light screen.

With Light Screen activated, I doubt Porygon 2 will be that threatening to me. Going to set up Reflect and then probably switch out to Haxorus in an attempt to set up and do some big damage.

Damn it. That was well played. Will have to attack immediately with Haxorus now. Expect the switch to Heatran so will use Earthquake to take care of that. Earthquake will still do a fair amount of damage to Porygon 2 if it should stay in regardless.

I guess he forgot that Porygon-2 had a traced levitate? Then again, it doesn't have Mold Breaker? Regardless, it faints, and he decided to send in his scrafty. It's time for me to switch out here too, to my Venusaur.

Retard moment right there. Overlooked the fact that Porygon 2 had traced Levitate but also probably forgot that Haxorus currently has Rivalry as the ability and not Mold Breaker. This is appalling. Must step things up a notch henceforth. The screens are still up and running so going to attempt a set up with Scrafty.

Damn it. Do not even think a second Dragon Dance will grant Scrafty enough speed to outrun Venasaur in the sun. Certain it will use Sleep Powder in an attempt to neutralize my Scrafty but should get the last laugh this time as Scrafty currently has Shed Skin. Well, I was hoping he used Draco Meteor, but, oh well. I decided to use Ice Shard, just to rack up some damage.

The Focus Blast was used as a switch into Heatran to soak the potential Draco Meteor was expected. Perhaps Porygon 2 was built as a special wall too, so Focus Blast would have hit that hard as well. I know Donphan carries Ice Shard and that is what will most likely hit Hydreigon next turn. Hydreigon is quite bulky however and while Light Screen faded away last turn, Reflect still has one more turn left before fading. With these factors taken into account, Hydreigon has no fear of Ice Shard. Will use Dark Pulse for the knock out. Unfortunately it means that Hydreigon can no longer feint a Choice item (it holds Expert Belt) but do not want Focus Blast to miss so that is the sacrifice to make to ensure the knock out.

I send in Ninetales hoping I can hit it with Hidden Power Ice. I'm hoping it'll do decent damage at this range, but we'll see.

Barring Hypnosis and Hidden Power Ice, Hydreigon does not fear Ninetails. Do not think Hypnosis is used since Sleep Powder is on Venusaur anyway. Also do not think Hidden Power Ice will be that damaging but to play it safe, will switch in Latias and re-establish the protective screens.

The Overheat probably would not have done much damage if it had connected and I believe he was planning on using Power Swap next turn to cripple Hydreigon. Hm, I was expecting Latias, but I guess he sent in his Hydregion to try and finish this Porygon-2 off. I recovered, just in case he uses Draco Meteor.

After a lot of thought, opted to send in Hydreigon. Going to try and take it out in one shot with Draco Meteor.

Haha! Chalk another one up for science, Gary! Anyway, I gain some health here as he sent in his Latias, which was perfect, because now I'll be able to gain more health back, and charge beam some more boost, slowly wearing his screens don in case he wants to put them back up. I can pull off a turnaround here.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WHAT THE HELL! Looking back, should have known it wouldn't have killed Porygon 2. A +1 Sp atk Magnezone did around a third of it's health so a neutral Draco Meteor shouldn't do much more damage. Should have gone with Focus Blast but did not want to rely on its shaky accuracy. This is a disaster! Thrown away the victory now. Have no idea on how to break through that Porygon 2 now. For now though, must switch Hydreigon out. Let's bring in Latias and get the barriers up and running again.

Well, he could 2 Hit KO me with it. Anyway, this battle was the climax -- if I can get Porygon-2 to stall ot his screen tme, I'll beable to KO his Hydreigon, which Bronzong won't be much of a problem anyway, so I'll win the match if I can pull this off. Providing that he doesn't crit me, of course. But no worries! Science shall triumph!

That is good damage. Alright, this is the plan. Going to spam Dark Pulse and if Porygon 2 flinches enough times, it will be in the knock out range of Focus Blast. It's an incredible long shot but because of the mistake of using Draco Meteor over Focus Blast earlier, this has to be done.

Overlord Drakow won the battle!

Props and slops;

Arietta, the Wild / Miss Doronjo;

Props:

- Charge Beam raising special attack every time
- Porygon-2 for its survivability!
- Venusaur and Dugtrio was okay too; for they helped me out in a sticky situation with his Scrafty.

Slops:

- Gah, I'm sorry for playing you so badly Ninetales. ;;
- Heatran literally did nothing. xD
- His Hydrigeion was no picnic to try and beat. His Latias wasn't a trip to cherryland eaither.

Overlord Drakow;

Props:

- Focus Blast having 100% accuracy.
- Hydreigon. Definitely the MVP for this match, taking out 2/3 of his team.
- Latias did well too. Those screens put in a lot of work in the overall course of the match.

Slops:

-Being a retard with Haxorus Earthquake and Hydreigon Draco Meteor against Porygon 2.
- Porygon 2. Thing truly gave me hell in that battle. Definitely the biggest threat on his team in hindsight. At least for me.
-Around half of the team being useless.

Summary

Science lost that day, but, over all, it was a cool match! I underestimated Porygon-2; it was pretty awesome. Kind of sad I didn't get to use Heatran, but, eh. Them's the breaks. Anyway, thanks for reading! Science may have lost, but there shall be other battles! yes...other battles... *muhahahaha!*

An interesting match definitely. Was a bit awkward not being able to use Bronzong throughout the match though, cause most things packed a fire attack of some sort which would murder it. Had to rely on Latias for pivoting (I think that's the right term) and such, which wasn't too bad actually. I'm used to relying on Bronzong for defence though so it was a bit of a new experience for me. Ideally you have found this informative and perhaps entertaining too. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

It's weird, I was watching this but when reading back it was completely different, lol (GOOD TO SEE IT WAS FINALLY POSTED AFTER LIKE 4 DAYS, pfft!)

But yeah tbh I skipped to the comments mainly buut was a good read! Last few comments between you and Drakow were most interesting imo. Good luck defeating darkness next time science :3

Was a nice read. I'm curious how much damage Hydreigon would have taken even with Light Screen up (Considering all the boosts).

Nice job guys.

It was cute and I applaud the effort. There were a lot of things I didn't like, though... Firstly you didn't have to recap the match after every turn. I don't know if it was just me but that got annoying and I just scrolled through it. You can do it after every kill but if you feel the need to recap after every turn, you can do it in a format like this:

Ani149MS.png
- 100%
Ani385MS.png
- 66%

...you see what I mean? It's a lot less huge and less painful on the eyes. You can do a whole team update, sure, but I think that'd be best saved for after each KO. Lastly I think that there are better battles to use, really. There weren't really a whole lot of warstory-quality moves (yeah drakow accidentally sacing Haxorus when it would have done a significant number to p2 and wearing down Heatran is what he wants, anyway) and that Drakow basically was clean-swept by p2 in the first place. I think some fixes on the commentary would help that (several times you both used the same terminology which was kinda... weird, and you both referenced things that'd happen in the future too), but most of the things I had an issue with were in the battle itself. That said, it's a wonderful effort and I think it's great some people are trying out battle logs, but I think that there might be a few better battles to use than this one.

Porygon 2 can use the item Eviolite (works only on non fully evolved Pokemon and it boosts their defences by 50%) so it's used as a sturdy wall / attacker whereas Porygon-Z is a frail but fast sweeper. The two serve completely different purposes.

Like Drakow said, Porygon2 is infinitely bulkier than Porygon-Z. P2 also gets Trace (like how it Traced Levitate), which gives it an edge over a lot of other bulky Pokemon. It can switch in on things like Jolteon and Trace their Volt Absorb so that Jolteon's Electric moves heal P2 instead. They do serve entirely different purposes, and Porygon2 is actually significantly more useful than its evolution in that manner.
