NAME: Turnip. Just Turnip. He doesn't give any other real form of identification, unless it's in a sickeningly sarcastic manner.
AGE: Around 20 or so, although he won't give an exact date of birth.
GENDER: Male, though he gives the impression of not being entirely sure. This isn't because of any particular doubt, more due to a lack of bothering to check.
IDENTIFICATION:
Turnip's physical appearance is hidden, for the most part. Fortunately, though, his general clothing is both pretty consistent and fairly memorable. Image below, (in the spoiler) and a description will follow.
The most memorable – and disturbing – feature of Turnip's appearance is the strange helmet that covers his head at all times. Both the body and visor of the helmet are opaque from the outside, and the general consensus is that it is irremovable. He stands at probably a little over six feet - built decently, though slightly on the lean and lanky side. Turnip is no bodybuilder, but he has a reasonable level of strength. His main physical assets are instead his high level of dexterity and co-ordination. In terms of clothing, he prefers to wear practical defence gear - whatever the situation – with his signature brown trench coat covering it. He's also likely to have some form of weaponry on his person; whether it's a discreet-ish knife, handgun, or even an assault or sniper rifle if he's feeling particularly comfortable. At any rate, he has various pockets, pouches, straps, a belt, boots and gloves, with various armour padding in the expected places – it's a look that often either strongly attracts or completely dissuades attention, which if nothing else is just awkward.
BADGE SYMBOL: Turnip will roll with the outline of a turnip. Sleek, stylish, streamlined… vegetable.
PERSONALITY:
Generally not really loving, Turnip may form friendships quite well, but may also ask to kill someone every once in a while. Thankfully he asks, to which the usual answer is "No.". His appearance doesn't help this, and as such he generally doesn't make good first impressions. Screaming is not that rare. Despite this, and an obvious love of sarcasm, Turnip is actually really moral, and has a strong sense of logic - aside from the occasional mention of wanting to cheat at real life. He's pretty easy to get along with ordinarily, if you can stop screaming long enough to hold a coherent conversation with him, but anything serious and he'll make sure - or try to make sure - that justice is done. Well, justice from his point of view, anyhow.
However, this border-psychopath side of Turnip's is mostly in a non-serious manner. He enjoys jokes and gamer culture - perhaps too much - and will constantly reference other games. Almost non-stop, actually. He pretty much lives to drown people in his incessant references. He is most certainly a gamer, through-and-through, taking on tasks head-on either physically or mentally. Thing is, anything he doesn't see as a task as such, or he doesn't see as important to the game's progression, he will probably ignore. He's most suited to single-player RPGs, so multiplayer games – as this experiment is akin to – aren't so much his forté, unless simple direct competition is involved.
In terms of a caring side, he doesn't appear to care for anything much. Turnip doesn't show much of himself to others. Naturally a bit of an introvert, on the surface he shows no interest in romance - in fact he shows disdain at the idea - and very little in friendship. There is something a little deep down in there, though - and if he happens to share it with you then he clearly holds you in high regard. Or pities you. Or is tricking you. Or, uh... something, anyway. Probably respect. Anyhow, he isn't likely to be pointing a weapon at you any time soon. (Unless, of course, he's tricking you, in which case he probably already is.)
PROVIDED HISTORY:
When Turnip speaks, listeners hear a clear English accent that could come from anyone of any background – slightly muffled and digitalised by his helmet, granted, but very much understandable. Due to his accent, people generally assume that Turnip is British English. However, his actual response when asked where he is from ("Uhh, England, I guess.") is vague and dismissive.
Turnip's main history is something he'd rather not get into, and when he is questioned about it, he either changes the subject, evades the question by some other means, or outright refuses to answer it. The only straight answer that doesn't ooze gut-wrenching sarcasm is that he doesn't know, which doesn't seem possible. Even if serious amnesia is to be considered, it's obvious that not knowing can't be the entire truth. Turnip has enough of his wits about him that he clearly knows something of his own past – onlookers, on the other hand, are apparently destined to remain clueless. He also denies any military history, and supplies that his combat ability comes from his love of gaming. As for the weapons: "I got them from, uh, somewhere."
As far as his history with the Morality Game is concerned, Turnip reveals (thank god, he's actually going to say
something) that he is an avid gamer. Anything game-related, new games, console technology, virtual reality – he's all for it, and he'll find some way to get in on it. As much as the Morality Game is an experiment, it's all a game for Turnip, and he'll treat it as such.
"Eh, experiment thing, they can call it what they like. It's some VR thing where people do tasks – if that's not a game, I'll eat my trench coat. Didn't they say something about Pokémon?"
Turnip is aware of the various restrictions of the program, along with rules enforced and clothes that are to be assigned. It seems he is able to change into the turtleneck, black khakis and sneakers, etc. (I don't know how he did it, just don't ask) He doesn't seem too comfortable with the rules, however, and supposedly, will refuse to remove his gloves and helmet. He also seems particularly attached to his Desert Eagle, but perhaps he can be swayed.
The Subject has suggested – though I think 'threatened' is probably a more accurate word – that you allow him to keep his headwear. He adds that he believes it was quite nice of him to type up an application in third-person, anyhow, as opposed to attempting to hack and pirate the system. He could have written the application in first person, of course, but that would have made more sense, and so is essentially completely unnecessary.
CLAIMED OCCUPATION(S): Turnip's only response is a short laugh, followed by the phrase "vegetable extraordinaire".
TASTES IN POKEMON:
Turnip is well aware of how the Pokémon games work, and prefers a strong, balanced team – with a tendency to move towards the more offensive side. He aims to have a fire, water, psychic, ground, electric and dragon type in his team, with various other useful secondary types like flying, ghost, fighting and grass mixed up somewhere in there. It all depends on what he can get his hands on, though.
For the record, his favourite Pokémon is Deoxys, specifically attack form.
