The Gijinka Project

Story

The world seems to be getting darker these days. Tensions are rising between the nations of the world; old grudges aired once more as tired, angry people look for enemies to take their frustration out on. Other humans aren't all there are to contend with either, the wilds are growing more dangerous, and restless. Wild pokemon are becoming more aggressive, more deadly as they probe at human settlements and among those who know it, whispers spread of legends; of powerful, ancient pokemon waking from their long slumbers and raising armies of their kin against the humans that have taken their land.

Unable to come together against the danger, the nations of the world scramble to find some solution, some way to survive. Some focus on building up their strength while others turn to research and discovery in the hopes of finding a game-changer; some miracle that would increase their strength and give them a way to stand against their enemies. With all eyes on the nations and their efforts, there are few to notice and even fewer to care when a few of the more unfortunate souls in the world go missing.

The Gijinka Project is Kanto's attempt to weather the storm to come; an attempt to combine human and pokemon, to pick and choose the best qualities of each to create a new type of soldier. Such an ambitious undertaking requires sacrifices though, it requires test subjects; and if a few people disappearing quietly into the night is the price for their survival, then the Kantoese government's eyes are firmly fixed the other way.

However, at a time when entire nations are moving in unison, one man can still make a difference. All it takes is a single moment of regret, for one man to press one button, and the world can be changed.
You

You are a Generation Zero Gijinka; one of the project's proof of concept prototypes. Changing the human body in such a dramatic way is a tricky process and while you were one of many taken against their will by agents of the project, you are also one of very few to actually survive the process.

You were being held against your will with several other Generation Zero subjects in suspended animation, locked deep in a building in some unknown part of the Kanto region; soon to be shown to government officials as proof that the project had succeeded. Something happened though, that the project didn't expect.

On the eve of the government inspection someone gained access to the computer systems of the lab, disrupting security and causing havoc across the expansive facility. Under the cover of explosions and rampaging pokemon, this individual succeeds in their main task and sets you free.
Dazed you stumble from the tube holding you and as your senses and mind try to make sense of themselves, you hear a voice coming from a speaker in the room.

"I'm sorry, I couldn't get to you. Things have gone wrong. The people who did this to you are still here, they'll realise what I've done soon."

"They'll be coming for you, you need to run."

Rules

- Respect all PC and RPC rules.
- This RPG is rated M for Violence and potential coarse language.
- Romance is permitted if you wish but absolutely nothing sexually explicit; if you absolutely must then fade to black.
- No godmodding, power playing or bunnying.
- Improvise! My story is just a guideline; adapting the story to fit your characters is my job, not the other way around.
- Be active please; inactivity is grounds for removal from the game, especially if you're holding the group up or if the slots are all full and others are interested.
- Try to get along; the whole point of these things is to have fun and no one is having fun if we're arguing. No bullying or insulting other players.
- Be realistic when fighting; nobody is a perfect fighter and the npcs don't become magically incompetent when fighting you.
- Have fun! The storyline might be a bit dark, but that doesn't mean the players have to be gloomy as well.

This looks -really- cool, I have to say. I'm very tempted to write an SU right away, but I wanted to ask you something first. At the 'Features', you write that one feature could be being able to 'use one of the abilities of the Pokémon', in which you said, for example being able to breathe fire.

If a person chose a Pokémon that has the ability to both breathe fire or, say, expel it from themselves, or create fire from other sources from some kind of pokémon move, would you be forced to say "They can use the ability 'Flamethrower'" or the like? Or can you go "They have the ability to use the chosen Pokémon's element in their fighting"? I'm really just looking for a limit to what one 'positive feature' regarding fighting could be.

I worded the breathing fire badly; your ability to use/summon the element would match the pokemon you are mixed with, so you could use their natural moves and manipulate the element how they can.

Ah, perfect! I think I'll be getting to work on an SU, then :3 Just one quick one, would we know that we've been experimented on and taken away, or is all of the experimentation and changing of our bodies a big, blank spot in our memory and the last we remember is being taken away?

P.S. I have an idea for a character concept, but I wanted to run it by you first, could you PM me your Skype and I could add you?

It would vary depending on how badly the experiments affected your character mentally (In other words, up to you). Most likely you would have flashes of memory and have no clue what they were actually doing to you though.

And you already have me on skype :p But yeah, we can talk about your character idea at some point when we're both online :)

William Lester - Unknown

Name: William Lester

Age: 24

Pokemon Species: Haunter

Personality:
Due to having lived on the street throughout a lot of his teen and all of his adult years, William tends to be very streetsmart. He knows where to go if he needs new clothes, what food or items to steal without the owner becoming suspicious or even wanting to report the crime, and he of course, can recognize a great hiding spot if he sees one.
He tends to keep positive despite or maybe even due to the circumstances of his upbringing, since there wasn't a lot else to do. If he'd gotten frustrated or angry about his situation, he would probably have had suicidal thoughts, and William knew this. So, instead, he made the most of his life, and instead of seeing himself as a vagrant or a hobo, he saw himself as free from the norms and most of the laws that other people had to follow.

Times were sometimes slim when he couldn't steal anything or collect enough bottles or items to get enough food for himself, so he was forced to either wait it out until an opportunity came along, or go scavenging the trash cans of the city, which he did at times. This has taught him to never waste anything it can be helped, and that everything can be useful, one way or another.

Aside from this, William is a happy-go-lucky guy, who doesn't blame his homeless or parent-less situation on anyone, though he does still harbour the hope that his real parents are out there somewhere, and that he one day, could get the courage to go find them or at the very least, create a new family in their stead.

Appearance:
After William's gradual transformation, anyone who knew him beforehand might have quite a rough time trying to piece together that this is actually him. His skin has turned into a semi-dark shade of people, though not to the point where he looks black. His hair (Which has been coloured a near-blackish purple) has grown rather spiky, the top-most of his hair pointing slightly backwards and the hair near his neck and a little further up jutting downwards. His build is lean, not overly skinny, but definitely not overweight either.

Due to now partially being a Haunter, his arms from his shoulders and down to his wrists have apparently gone see-through, with his hands still being perfectly materialized, as well as having gained slightly more claw-like nails. He's able to make his arms materialize completely if he concentrates, but most of the time, he'd simply wear a shirt with long sleeves to cover them up.

Despite all of this, you might still be able to recognize the boy after the transformation due to the fact that his face still holds its previous features, such as his slightly pointy nose, his green eyes, a small chin-beard (Which has also coloured a near-black purple) and his somewhat rounded jaw. He's also grown quite a bit. Where he was around six feet tall before, he's now grown to be about eight feet instead, towering over most people.

Background:
William grew up without his parents, having been found by a matron at an orphanage in Saffron City when he was a baby. That said, he enjoyed his time there, playing with the other kids, growing up and learning to write, read and the like. Every so often, a young couple would stop by and have a look at the various kids, William being split when it came to this. On one side, he really wanted a family, an actual home rather than living in one big house with twenty other children, but he didn't want to leave the few friends he'd gathered behind either.

That said, he never got the chance to even make the choice. Everytime a couple came to adopt a child, they never chose him. It was either one of the other kids or, worst of all, one of his friends. There had been times where William had thrown a tantrum due to one of his friends leaving the orphanage, and even an incident when he socked one of the other kids in the jaw for leaving the others behind, which promptly resulted in William being sent to the attic to stay a day or two.

As time went on, all of William's friends left, leaving only him and a bunch of other kids that he hadn't made friends with, and at this point, he never bothered to. Before all of his friends had gone away, however, they had been sneaking out of the orphanage and taking trips around town, playing pranks on the people living there, or even stealing a treat or money for a movie ticket or the like.

And now that his friends weren't around, William saw no reason to stick around himself, so he snuck out of the orphanage and ran away. From then on, he'd lived on the street, stealing or collecting bottles or the like to make a living. He'd found an old, spacey dumpster that he'd stolen away to hide under a small bridge on the outskirts of town, having tipped it onto its side and prodded open the lid with two thick branches, which made it look like a tiny house with a terrace.

He lived like this for many years, doing what he had to, to make do, but never once regretted his choice, despite how cold or lonely some of the nights could get. He kept a positive mindset throughout it all, even befriending a stray Pokémon or two, such as a Rattata or a Poochenya, which he shared some of his hard-earned food with. However, all that changed very recently, when a couple of dark-clad figures came to his 'home' in the middle of the night, knocked him out and took him away.

Features - Positive:
He's able to use Haunter's attacks and manipulate shadows and ghost energy.

He's able to turn invisible, levitate to a certain height above ground and phase through solid objects.

He cannot be harmed by physical attacks, unless it's empowered by a non-physical element such as fire, lightning, or even ice or psychic energy.

Features - Negative:
He's unable to manipulate shadows and ghost energy aside from his regular Pokémon attacks without a good bit of training.

He needs to concentrate to be able to turn invisible, and he's unable to do so for too long. If his concentration is broken, he becomes visible in an instant, or certain features of him becomes visible without him realizing.

Due to not being able to take any physical damage whatsoever, he takes extra damage from special attacks, like Flamethrower or the like.

This seems really interesting, and I hope it gets more interest soon. Consider this a placeholder for my SU, if that is alright by you!

Subject #221

NAME: Elsie Chaney
AGE: Nineteen, 19
POKéMON SPECIES: Zoroark

PERSONALITY: Elsie is a goodhearted individual who lets her morals guide her through life decisions. Yet though she is friendly with those closest to her, she tends to keep herself secluded from the world, watching from a distance. Her observant ways often lead to over viewing the happenings of the world around her rather than participating in the current events. She prefers to gain perspective before initiating any form of contact. This has allowed her the capability of picking out one's characteristics and mannerisms by simply viewing a brief conversation, and then utilizing this information to achieve a goal. Elsie is incredibly persuasive in her speech, mostly due to this knowledge she obtains, but instead of personal gain in mind she rather becomes an advocate for the underdogs.

She will always put others before herself, even if it means forgoing her own health or safety. She would rather put herself at risk than see those around her suffer in any way. This gives way to a protective nature she has adapted from the infused Zoroark during the Project. Since the transformation she has become territorial in nature, which drives her the act out of the ordinary when it comes to those invading what she sees as hers. This includes items of affection, areas deemed as safe havens, and most of all people she has come to deeply care about. When threatened, she will react on instinct to do anything within her power to protect her 'pack.'

Her knowledge of Pokémon is limited due to her low class upbringing. Even at the age of nineteen she remained sheltered from the world under her parents' paranoia. Never being allowed to have relationships with others and moving constantly throughout the region, Elsie was forced to find other ways to entertain herself as a child. She took up reading the books her parents though they had hidden well and from there most of her ideas of the world were set in place. The books told stories of legendary people fighting alongside Pokémon, or of great Pokémon beasts who could tame the wilds. She grew up fascinated with these fantasies and developed a dangerous curiosity that sometimes leads her into trouble.

Elsie is a diplomat who will always try to find a peaceful solution before jumping headlong into a battle. She has an extreme reluctance and dislike for violence, but when pushed to the brink she will fight back with everything she has. She will view a situation from a strategic standpoint, looking for ways to trip up and enemy and take them down with speed rather than strength. The sooner the conflict has ended the less damage inflicted on both side.

Finally, Elsie prefers to see the light within everyone, and believes that there is goodness in someone's heart no matter their past. She is a strong supporter of second chances and won't hesitate to offer a helping hand to try and bring someone back on the right path. Everyone makes mistakes in life, and her philosophy is to look passed them for a brighter future. However, her view on this becomes slowly obscured when she was kidnapped for The Gijinka Project, and suddenly the world isn't as great of a place as her naïve mind initially believed.

APPEARANCE: She stands on the average end for Gijinka's around approximately seven foot one weighing almost feather light for her size to improve the fluidity and speed of her movements. Her torso and lower body has mainly retained her lithe human figure, while her skin is a pale white fading into black starting from head down to her to feet. Her hands and feet have long, sharp red claws extending from her nails out which make shoes or gloves difficult to wear.

Her once auburn hair has taken on the Zoroark's fur-like consistency and has grown out in a bushy red mane with black tips that reaches down past her knees. Attached like appendages to her hair are three light blue orbs that glow when certain powers are activated. She and all others have been unable to removed these objects, and have thus been deemed as a part of her body. Two are found hanging near the base of her neck while the third and largest is attached to the very end of her mane. From the side towards the top of her head rests two pointed fluffy black ears that greatly enhance her hearing.

Elsie has acquired red markings that rim both eyes as well as bright cerulean blue irises. Most human like attribute in her face remained the same, such as her small pointed nose and sharp face. In all, she can appear normal to the outside world with her illusion abilities in order to hide her Gijinka state.

BACKGROUND: Elsie was born to Carter and Helen Chaney, who tried many times before to conceive a child before Elsie finally came into the world as their first and only success. The Chaney's were renowned researchers of Pokémon and human interactions who traveled the world before settling in Hoenn for some time. Elsie grew up in Lilycove City and lived there fourteen years of her life. The majority of these years were spent in a lonely isolation as he parents would often leave for research in neighboring cities.

Though she didn't understand it at the time (and still has trouble doing so today), the girl was forbidden to converse with the other people or Pokémon of her city. Instead, she spent her time reading or writing adventure tales. Elsie was never given the opportunity to become a Pokémon trainer and so settled for the prospect of a Breeder when she grew older. However, around the time of her fifteenth birth year things changed. Her parents were called to Kanto for a special research project that claimed to be able to change the world. The family moved across the sea for this job and settled at their new home in Saffron City.

It was only a year after the move when her parents began acting strangle. A paranoia set over the household like a plague, where shades would be shut during the day and they wore cloaks when venturing outside. Elsie began to understand that they were hiding, but from what she did not know. One night they packed only their necessary belongings and left Saffron City, taking refuge in Viridian. Elsie and her family moved several times more after this, and each time her parents grew more frenzied.

Because of these happenings the girl was never allowed to essentially have a life of her own, ever as she grew into her later years. She began adapting her parents' paranoia to the point where she believed something, or someone, was watching them.

It was around the age of nineteen when they collectively relaxed a little, and allowed themselves to slowly become a part of the world again. Yet after all the running and hiding they didn't escape the bad happenings. Elsie was preparing the leave her parents and find her own way in life on the eve she was kidnapped by The Gijinka Project, and it was then she realized that her parents weren't crazy after all.

FEATURES - Positive:
Her enlarged fox-like ears enhance her hearing greatly. She is able to discern conversations from an unseen distance or hear the faint heartbeat of the person next to her, but her range only goes so far.

Elsie has obtained many of the attack powers belonging to Zoroark, including the ability to create illusions indistinguishable from reality unto others. Though these illusions have no physical effect, they are realistic to the point when someone would believe they were being harmed should she conjure and illusion attack. This also allows her to veil herself in a disguised appearance without the need for transformation.

Most of her attacks manifest in spheres or beams of dark energy that has been condensed from her surroundings. She is able to feed off the negative emotions of those around her to strengthen her attacks as well as enhancing the recharge of physical energy used to fight.

Her physical strength is lesser than that of average Gijinka's, and her bone structure is almost brittle in nature. Yet where she lacks in hand-to-hand combat she gains in more powerful special attacks. Because of her physical weakness and the danger is poses to her health should she come to physical harm, her body has found a way to protect itself. The blue orbs attached to her hair activate to create a force field of energy that can withstand certain attacks.

FEATURES - Negative:
Her abilities can often been hard to control, or unable to be governed at all in her current state. Her hearing often impairs her with mild to severe headaches. This is due to the fact that she cannot turn it off in any sense. Sometimes, when she is distressed or otherwise emotionally compromised, her hearing reaches decibels almost unbearable. There are times when she cannot make heads or tails of conversations when there is a large crowd.

She is still learning to use her powers from the infused Zoroark and her control over them wavers here as well. Elsie projects illusions sometimes without realizing it. These illusions will often be playbacks of fond memories, or nightmares she has experience.

The only way to keep sane with the dark energy she absorbs is to constantly seek out a source of positive emotions. Because of this she is reliant upon others to either enhance her strength or bring her down from a mental negative high. Though she was designed to be a solider, she cannot function with her powers as a loner in battle. If she consumes too much dark energy without the balance of light she loses herself in a conscious coma-like state. During this time, Elsie is guided solely on instinct and all emotions or morals that dictate decisions are nonexistent. She stays this way until all negative energy has been drained from her system.

The force field she conjures is mostly random, or triggered by instinct during a sudden extreme of onset anxiety. In addition, it can only withstand so many attacks before the structure is broken. In order to solidify, this power utilizes a great amount of both dark and light energy. It cannot be used in succession and has to be allowed a long span of recharge time. Her other powers are weakened by this ability and cause her exhaustion after its use. This power is used rarely in battle.

Brandi Mitchell

Name: Brandi Mitchell

Age: 21

Pokemon Species: Gardevoir

Personality: Brandi is a reformed nihilist, suffering from a series of unfortunate events that started since before she was born. The simplest way to describe her is to say that she's an optimistic misanthrope, who sees all of the flaws in everything and wants to keep fighting for the good things no matter how much the darkness tries to smother her. There is a goodness to be found in people, and she's willing to give most of them the chance to prove it, and help them achieve it, but that doesn't mean she lacks teeth. There are some people that just aren't good, that aren't one of the things worth fighting for, and they'll suffer soon enough. Not by her hand, but because the world doesn't distinguish between the good and the bad, between those who cause suffering and those who try to heal it. Everything has its time.

Being the practical sort, Brandi has a few skills that can come in handy, and she knows what they are with some certainty, as well as her weaknesses. She tries to acknowledge the areas where she fails, and tries to stop herself from encouraging others to, lest she become preachy, which is one vice in particular that she wants to avoid. She wants to improve herself as a person, and bring goodness to wherever she can place it, while enjoying whatever she can find. Whether it's in a simple tune, a personal joke, or the sight of the sun setting across the horizon.

Thanks to her upbringing, Brandi has a good knowledge of Pokemon, philosophy and religion, as well as plenty of time spent losing herself in whatever media she could get her hands on, which leads to a tendency to quote odd things she's heard that may or may not be entirely relevant to the situation at hand, but she thinks it makes her sound smart or it's a fun thing to say, so it's going to get said. She has a few odd trivia facts lodged in her brain, as well, which are likely to come blurting out thanks to her habit of talking quietly to herself. This is due to the fact that a few years of her life were spent as alone as she could be, which means her social skills are ever so slightly rusty, and she doesn't have a very good grasp on politics or current events.

Thanks to her previous lack of enthusiasm, Brandi never truly bonded with a Pokemon, and her views of those who had were dubious at best. But, since her personal enlightenment, she sees it as something she could be interested in attaining, if they could earn a bond through companionship. And she's always seen the practicality of keeping them, even if some means are for reasons that are less than fun, such as how to tame or treat them in such a way as to gather food or drink. She's something of a vegetarian due to this fact, as well as it being easier to find vegetarian food when on one's lonesome, as opposed to hunting without proper equipment or buying with no money.

Brandi was a young woman whose life was hell, until she learned to accept that it's how the world works, and, as a mortal, she had no ability to impact it on a large scale. Then, Project Gijinka has happened and made her, along with many others, living gods...

Appearance: Brandi stands at a modest seven foot tall, with a wiry and elegant frame that allows many of her movements to seem far more graceful than they were intended. The general structure of her body has been streamlined, lessening the majority of her girth, especially her waist, to far skinnier than it had been before, along with the size of her bust. In contrast, her hips have widened, to provide something of a mount for the dress-like membrane that has grown since her metamorphosis. Along her spine and from the center of her chest protrude thin, short lengths of chitin, in a vibrant crimson, which glow gently when her abilities are manifesting. From her waist, there is a membrane formed from a series of linked armored plates that flow behind her with every step, serving as a kind of elegant protection for her lower-half, which acts more like hair than most combat armor.

As a young woman with skin that was already pale, the transformation has turned Brandi's skin into a cool, stark white, with a rare strike of green along her arms. Her hair has likewise been changed, to a luscious green that seems to mold into whatever shape it's wished into, including hardening for the purposes of defense or protection from the elements. Across her brow, her skin slowly hardens into chitinous plates, with three spikes that flare to each side, which form the masquerade-mask look that compliment Gardevoir's common comparisons to a ballroom dancer. These cover and mold with her ears, which have become longer, thinner, and pointier to fit in more easily with the "mask".

Along with the major changes to her physical form, a series of minor changes have affected Brandi's form. Her eyes are now a deep crimson, and have grown larger, while her nose has been altered to a more petite size. Her body is entirely hairless, save for the hair-like membrane atop her skull, and she no longer produces any natural scent. Rather than walking, she floats just above the ground and moves through gentle force of will, although she's capable of walking. She also has no bellybutton.

Background: Brandi was born to Robert and Sophie Mitchell, each of them Rangers, but separate in every other way. Robert was a praying man, who saw the world through a filter of religion, dogma, and the firmly held belief that everything would turn out alright, in the end. And when it didn't, it would be part of The Plan, leading to a greater good. These beliefs stuck with him from when he was nothing but a homeless scavenging child, to when he tamed his first Pokemon and eventually found a woman he could love, with every detail precisely attributed to the little leatherbound book he kept tucked in front of his heart.

Sophie Mitchell was a different kind of person, although she likewise considered herself that of a good kind. She was laidback in many things, and saw similarities or simple facts of life where her husband would have presented prejudice. In part, she was a pragmatist, which is what earned her both enemies and friends, while also making her an excellent Ranger, much as many might have doubted her. Although the types of people that Robert and Sophie were seemed to clash, they made fast friends in each other through admiration of their lesser qualities, and ignorance of those that were the foundations of their being. In the end, they would have only a few years of joy, in return for gifting the world with a lifetime of suffering.

From a young age, Brandi was raised by both philosophies, each of which gave her the worst of what could be seen. She watched the brutality of nature, in the fighting of Pokemon and slaying of others for meat, as she was trained in the ways of a Ranger, although she was twice shy of most problems she encountered. Even in times of rest, she had to sit at home and watch as the world began to break down at the seams on television, despite the apparent idyllic upbringing that wealth and happy parents would bring serving as only a small, fake shelter from the world at large. Friends were made, certainly, although none of them stuck. As was the nature of many friendships, they broke apart thanks to petty squabbling that left her feeling upset, or broken, as she watched bonds she had thought strong simply slip away in the passage of human nature. And the response of her parents were simply apathetic; better friends would be made, and she should deal with the loss. No sugar-coating for the growing young girl, despite the apparent best intentions of her parents.

By her teenage years, Brandi was beginning to feel hollow, separated from true friendship by both circumstance and her own fear of being bitten. And that was when her home life began to break down. The wilds she lived by were beginning to get more dangerous, and her parents conflicted on what they should do, with her father supporting finding refuge elsewhere, while her mother supported staying where their own work had forged them a life, and pointed out that no uprising by Pokemon had ever succeeded in the past. This only changed when Robert was slain by a Pokemon he was attempting to calm, who had wandered dangerously close to the Mitchell home. Sophie moved away with Brandi shortly after.

They stayed with relatives, for a time, as Sophie become more reclusive, and colder to her child, whose eyes reminded her too much of the deceased Robert. Then, she lost her job; she was getting old, and her partner was gone, and the Rangers could no longer afford to keep them on the payroll. With no money, they couldn't help their relatives with upkeep, and had to move in with other refugees of the rapidly-advancing wilds. There were a few other "good people" there, but all Brandi heard was the noise of rumors, saying that their servers were cheating on their partners, news of a tragedy from Unova, or the ever degenerating relationships between countries, including the one they found themselves in.

Brandi's mother was crushed to death in a stampede for food by the desperate refugees. Brandi was taken to the bankers to negotiate her inheritance, forcing her to deal with paperwork she couldn't sign and records she didn't have access to. It looked like they were going to take it all, everything her family might have left her, and leave her as just another refugee, desperate for survival and ruining the lives of others while focusing on her own. She wanted to fight back somehow, to take another swing at the world that seemed so putrid...but violence had never been in her nature. She didn't want to be like any monster of the world, but she didn't have the strength to sustain her virtues. Like a coward, she ran away.

Brandi survived on scavenged berries and food left by the roadside, none of it fresh, with only her clothes and her wits to keep her around, as she tried to remain isolated from the world while moving through it. She had a few bad encounters, but, as the years went by, she started to get used to it. There was a certain solidarity to be found in detachment.

Then, something wonderful happened. Brandi was passing over a large bridge and spotted a woman standing on its edge, barely gripping it as she prepared to jump. Not knowing her own movements, Brandi rushed to the edge of the bridge and begged the woman not to do it, not to end her own life. She pleaded with everything she could think of, professing all the wonders of the world and all of the goodness that could be found in it, if only the woman would let her show them. And the woman let her. Brandi learned that her name was Maya, and they spent the night talking together, on the bridge, both of them learning something that they didn't think was possible. Life is harsh and cruel, and they're only mortals in a threatening world. And that only makes it more wonderful when they find the goodness. It might not always be obvious, but it's there, and they could make it happen. Just as Brandi proved, by saving Maya's life.

That night, Brandi was kidnapped by Project Gijinka.

Features - Positive: Brandi is capable of using telekinesis on both a passive and active level, although not on any large offensive or defensive scale. Her telekinetic abilities are most often used to compliment her existing methods of acting, such as providing herself with a particular shield against an effect, or reaching out to grab a nearby object she might be able to use.

While lacking in the ability to outright read minds, like many of her kind, Brandi possesses the ability to see into the past and the future, allowing her to see many possibilities that have been taken and may be taken in the future. She can only process this ability thanks to the hypercognitive abilities of the Gardevoir, granting increased intelligence and recollection, which have been specialized in this particular incarnation to make her a different form of Gardevoir than that of the other subject spliced with the same pokemon. This precognition is most often used in short bursts, and only into the immediate future, to better compliment her fighting style.

In addition, Brandi is gifted with the ability to heal herself and others. This ability is fueled by her empathy, leaving her increasingly unable to heal others if she hasn't had any time to form a bond of compassion with them, and especially unlikely to be able to heal people who have wronged her in the past.

Brandi is easily capable of teleportation, whether it be to ten feet away to avoid a swiftly-rolling boulder, or halfway across the country to receive medical treatment. Unfortunately, this requires that she have studied or has a reasonable expectation for where she'll end up, which makes arriving at a specific location unlikely, unless she has had ample time to get familair with it.

Features - Negative: In sharp contrast to common ailments affecting those under great psychic stress, Brandi isn't tired by grandiose displays of power, such as using them to halt an assault of missiles and fling them back at their defenders. Instead, the rush of power through her body causes her mind to accelerate faster than she can handle, absorbing every ounce of information in the area and encouraging her to work harder, move faster, use more energy. She becomes so focused on the passage of time and every event within it that she loses touch with her emotions, which leads to her losing inspiration for the fight or task at hand, losing her loyalty or ability to perceive things that might affect her morality. She becomes a hyper-focused machine of logic, causing her to lose sight of that which is dear to her heart and potentially do things she'll regret.

Brandi is easily susceptible to emotions and horrors, meaning that depictions of dark things are likely to make her lose her focus. She's sensitive to many emotions, almost all of which can affect her adversely in any situation, as long as she isn't already in a trance-like state.

Soo, this is slightly awkward but we have two Gardevoir; Lilizuki's above and one from Songbird that was PMed to me a fair while back while I was asleep.

I personally don't have a big problem with having two Gardevoir - maybe one of the scientists really liked them or something >_> If one of you two really has a problem with sharing pokemon then tell me and we'll try and sort something out, or if one of you wants to change that's fine by me. For now you're both accepted as Gardevoir.

And yup Roen, reservation for you.

Name: Roku Sill
Age: 16
Pokemon: Mightyena

Personality: Roku is very quick to judge and react to situations, being bashful at times and getting things wrong when things could have easily been right. His bashful nature comes from his father who originally worked down a mine and was always wary of his surroundings; he once killed a bird with his foot because it came up behind him. Sometimes Roku can be aggressive when angry, and doesn't hesitate to cause some harm, which often ends him in deep trouble. His mind is always set on doing the right thing, but he has a funny way of doing it. On a more positive side, he is very hard-working, and if stuck, tends to do more research and use more time than an average person, and that hardworking attitude landed him at a very prestigious school, which he enjoyed.

His biggest care in the world is nature. He finds plants and pokémon simply fascinating, and he is very knowledgeable on the subject. He thinks of all pokémon as equal, no matter if he isn't a vegetarian (he believes that each animal has a place in this world, and a purpose, milktank just tend to be there for his pleasure, because he loves beef.) He can be very single minded when it comes down to pollution issues and environmental change, preferring to stick up for the pokémon habitats over human needs. Also, collecting an array of flowers and gardening are two of his hobbies.

When it comes down to pokémon Roku loves them all, but his favorites are the mountain dwelling ones that survive throughout the harshest terrain and weather, and admires their courage and bravery. He has always had some connection with pokémon, despite how dark the world seemed to be, and had several friends in the forest who admires his personality. In a sense, he is always gentle in the habitats of pokémon, but viscous in the habitat of humans. He despises humans, and views them as the people who brought tragedy to the world.

Appearance:
Spoiler:

Roku is a tall lad with dark black hair covering his eyes, and markings underneath his eyes that resemble that of a mighteyena. A pair of ears sprout up at the top of his head a-midst the mass of dark hair on his head. His eyes are a dark, but gentle red, and a grin across his face. He doesn't wear shoes at all no matter the location, and you won't genuinely see him in anything fancy, normally something basic such a a white t-shirt and jeans. He is quite muscular and strong, tall and thin, a perfect fit for most clothes. A big bushy tail sticks out the back finalizing the wolf details. Surprisingly, no-where else but his tail and head beholds any hair. He can withdraw and redraw his claws as he wishes (kinda like wolverine but on his fingers and not between)

Background: Roku was born in Kanto, under a great oak tree in Viridian forest by his single mother Maria. His father hadn't stuck around to say hello. His mother was picking berries that day and suddenly collapsed to the ground in a heap, desperately crying in pain for she was pregnant. The forest pokémon came to see, but as they got there, the mother had passed out. They carried the mother to the tree, and soon, the pokémon and Roku's mother had delivered a baby boy. A year later Roku's baby sister was born, Kori. Roku and Kori never got along like any brother and sister, but she was definitely the bossy one. The mother had a terrible time trying to keep up with demands as they lived in the small town of Pallet Town, away from all the disaster elsewhere. When the two were growing up, the father came back to see them, although mother didn't approve. Roku took after his father somewhat whilst Kori adopted her mother's caring and lady-like nature. The both grew up casually like normal children from then on...

As Roku settled back in with his mother at 14, his sister had passed away due to a riot in Viridian. He started to realize what bad shape the world was in at this time, and started to go shy and away from the world. He got into his studies and got into a prestigious school, not lasting long however as he was dragged out by his mother before there were more riots in the streets. His mother suddenly became very protective over him, but alas he didn't care. He took regular trips to the forest to meet all his friends there, and defend the weaker pokémon against the slightly more stronger ones. He lived this way for 2 years before he was taken away, and his mother went into depression, thinking she had lost her only other son.

Features - Positive: Can distort darkness itself and blind a foe from the light, running up with a sharp claw and badly damaging a foes face or other body parts. He is very agile and can run on all fours when he needs to be fast. In a sense he is almost invisible. His senses are very acute as well, having extraordinary sound and smell senses. Along with that, the research team that were involved used a specially bred Mightyena which with-holded the power of the elements, (fire thunder ice, and quite obviously dark) with fused with his claws to give him more power.
Features - Negative: His methods of fighting available to him do not comply with what he wished for in life (he doesn't intend to ever hurt anybody.) Has big effects on his state of mind, and he is constantly concerning over whether he is human or wolf/mighteyena as his instincts are awakened every so often. Sometimes he can even lose his mind and become viscous however not without reason

Roleplay sample:
"What do you think?" the voice calls out to me, begging me to join it in conversation. I lift myself off the stone surface to view the open sky ahead of me, not a cloud can be seen, and the lush orange sunset brings warm thoughts to my mind, warming my heart.
"What do I think of what?" I say back quickly, whilst admiring the sun go down to it's pitiful descent.
"About the sun," she says. I never truly think about the sun, it's just something there that brings life to our world. In saying that though, I guess I do have something to say, at least. I explain to her that the sun to me represents all life on this planet, like a great leader of nature in one big ball of gas. She giggles and I have a little laugh too.
"I suppose you could say it's like a friendly King?" she whispers to me. I don't understand why she had to whisper the words, but I play along with it anyways.
"I suppose you and I could live on the sun one day." She goes quiet for a few seconds, turning her head towards the sun as it departs from our half of the earth into the next. She turns to me once more.
"I would like that," she whispers again. I feel quite elated, something inside me is buzzing with excitement as if some enchanted ribbon had tied my heart to my soul.
"Someday..."

"I'll see you again... Emily."

Sure thing 幕之内 一歩, noting you down as a reserve ^^

And Crimson0191 you are accepted. Try to work on formatting your posts a bit please for the actual rp so they're actual paragraphs and easier to read, but the content was alright :)

Not sure I am very happy with it, but my SU is finished. My mind was being pulled in all different directions for this character, I just hope she came out coherent enough. xD
