Unpopular opinion time! What are some games you enjoy, but no one else seems to share your sentiment.

Off the top of my head:

Paper Mario: Sticker Star
Now before you grab your pitchforks and torches, let me explain.

This game gets way too much flack from the PM fandom, and I think it's kind of over hyped how bad it is.
I've heard people say it's one of the worst games ever made, when in actuality there are bigger fish to fry (don't put this on the level of something like Sonic 06 or Action 52, their worlds apart people).

But come on, It's colorful, it's fun, it's enjoyable. I know It's a item-based battle system, and the enemies don't drop stickers. But it's a good thing they can be found literally everywhere.

The simplistic story is completely fine, because the game gets by on gameplay (which is fun)

The bosses are just so interesting and creative, in other PM games it was mostly just: hit them. Sure there were some instances of weaknesses in boss fights, but it was mostly just: hit them. In sticker star the bosses had creative ways of defeating them, making a goomba unit topple over, knocking a pokey out of the arena using a baseball bat, poisoning a blooper with it's own ink. These bosses are just so creative and fun.

Mario Party 9/10
These games are fun, plain and simple. You can say how different it is, but here's the thing different does not equal bad, and MP 9/10 were a nice change of pace from the kind of formulaic games that came before it.

Roller Coaster Tycoon 3
This one gets a lot of hate from fans of RCT 1/2, and frankly it is unwarranted. I have lost many hours of my life to this game, and it has been a creative outlet for me for a long time. It basically took what worked in 1 and 2 and brought it into the realm of 3D, special mention also goes out to the expansion packs. The packs for RCT 1/2 added rides, scenery, and scenarios. The packs for 3 also do that, but they also add new mechanics, allowing for seemingly endless possibles. There's also a ton of custom content for RCT3, opening the doors to even more possibilities. I may have played 1 and 2 first, but I can safely say RCT3 is the best one IMO. Also sandbox mode is one of the greatest things ever.

Those were some of mine. But what are some games you like, but no one else does?

y'all so mean to final fantasy 13 it's got great characters and music and a fun battle system i'm not saying it's a masterpiece or the greatest final fantasy game but i don't think it deserves all the hate it gets.

I think EarthBound Beginnings is the unsung hero of the EarthBound trilogy. Everyone seems to love both EarthBound and Mother 3, while Beginnings only gets a passing mention. I liked Beginnings. Sure, it didn't age well, but at the time it must have been a great NES title for the Japanese fans that got to play it. That's the mindset I had while playing through it, and I had fun that way. Ninten, Lloyd, Ana, and Teddy are all great. The music is memorable. The graphics are not that good, but they were still functional and on par with NES titles at time. And of course, the franchise wouldn't be the way it is without Beginnings, especially EarthBound, which borrows and refines a lot of elements from the first one.

I wouldn't mind seeing a Beginnings rep for the next Smash. The game is good.

I honestly kinda liked playing Pokémon Channel back then when I was 9 (I think), of course the reason I got it in the first place is that free Jirachi of the PAL version but... even if it surely isn't anything special, it felt kinda relaxing to play for the peaceful mood all throughout.

Crash Bandicoot: the Wrath of Cortex is another one, sure it wasn't anywhere close to the original trilogy but at least trying to copy the third game made it kinda decent. It had some major flaws like too many gimmick levels, extremely slow gameplay in some areas, and some of the longest loading times ever seen (though tbf I had the Platinum re-release which had substantially shorter loading times) but at least it was not released unfinished like its successor, Twinsanity, was, and on gameplay alone I find Wrath of Cortex the better game of the pair. Though I can still agree that Twinsanity could have been a lot better (even if I still am not a fan of many stylistic choices) if it didn't fall into development hell and ended up being released unfinished.

Also I'm probably one of the really few people who likes Age of Empires III more than AoE II (maybe I'd still say vanilla AoE II is better, but with all expansions AoE III is the better one overall for me. Both are excellent though), and similarly I like TES: Oblivion more than both Morrowind and Skyrim (not an unpopular opinion liking it over the latter but certainly over the former it is), even despite the annoyances in the leveling system. Oblivion's story (both the main one and the guilds) is probably one of my favourites ever in video gaming, while Skyrim imho was a huge disappointment in that matter.

Zelda II. Y'all been shitting on that game for far too long. >:( I'm going to group Oracle of Seasons/Ages in here too.

The Pokemon Rumble series as well. It's not disliked but I definitely don't think it sees any appreciation from the Pokemon fandom.

I seem to be the only person who actually enjoyed Resonance of Fate. It has a pretty fun unique map mechanic, fantastic combat, a pretty wacky steampunk setting, and a trio of characters with fantastic chemistry. It might be a little light on the story, but what else do you need to know other than that Leanne goes both ways, Zephyr is good in the dark, and if you unleashe bunker busters on Vashyron he'll return fire with his trusty magnum?

I also unironically enjoyed Shadow the Hedgehog. I was a teenager, okay. An edgy teenager. Sonic Heroes, too. Sonic Heroes has some pretty memorable music and literally the only casino zone in the entire franchise that isn't fucking trash.

Sometimes I wonder if I'm the only person who enjoyed Star Ocean: The Last Hope too. Come on, like the cast is any worse than most JRPGs! I can think of SEVERAL characters worse than Edge, Meracle, and Lymle. Like the entire cast of Persona 4. Or most Final Fantasy characters from IX onwards. At least Meracle is actually USEFUL. Bacchus and Arumat are also amazing. Arumat has a LASER SCYTHE. How is that not the best weapon ever? It also has a pretty fantastic soundtrack, one of the best real-time battle systems I've ever played - seriously, it's better than pretty much every Tales game, which traps you on a single axis and makes moving in all directions extremely awkward - and honestly, I've played through MUCH worse stories.

Congrats, you helped me find another game to add to the Obscurea List.

As for my contribution; Tao's Adventure for the Nintendo DS and Azure Dreams for the GBC and PS1; Both games tried capitalizing on Pokemon's huge success with catch-able and breed-able monster's, though this title did it a little more interesting twist. Both of them trying to tell a small epic of adventure in a constantly changing dungeon tower.... Buuut I've already written about these in great detail elsewhere.

Here goes the list:
Pokemon Black and White
Golden Sun: Dark Dawn
Zelda: The oracle games(I love them!!)
Zelda: The Minish Cap
That's all from me! I think out of all these the second one gathers a lot of hate because of a bunch of plot holes and an easy gameplay, but it was mystifying for me...

Not that people dislike it per se, but because of how obscure Zone of the Enders/Zone of the Enders 2 both are, I don't see a lot of people talking about either game. It's kind of a shame because while I'm not someone huge on mecha games, these two games both have a pretty damn deep story, imo.

I just remembered there was this Aquarium Sim for the ol' DS phat and I can't remember what it was called but I spent many an hour with it and everyone else I knew was like 'wtf okay you do you'.

Mischief Makers too. I don't think it was universally hated or anything but really just got lost in the ether of better N64 games. ;;

Suikoden IV is the black sheep of the series among the fanbase, but I actually liked the game quite a bit. Always was a fan of the series (which is now dead) world-building and lore and I felt the title did expand on that. Not to mention the Rune of Punishment, which was the focus of the story, was the most interesting of the True Runes revealed thus far.

I get the dislike for it though. The slow sailing paired with extremely high encounter is annoying to no end. Also, the standard 6 character party was cut to 4 for some reason, and the game is set so back in the timeline from the others that there's no recurring characters you're use to seeing.

Can I sign myself under this? Minish Cap was my first Zelda game and I love it. Got me to the whole franchise.

Also I prefer Heroes IV to beloved Heroes III. Both have their qualities, but I prefer more RPG-oriented IV than III. Reminds me of original Might & Magic games.

I know everyone crapped on it because of the awful launch, but I actually enjoyed Mass Effect Andromeda. Sure, it wasn't the same quality as the original trilogy, and EA made Bioware scrap any DLC plans that would've really tied the story together, but all in all it was a solid spin-off, and a shame that it was basically dead on arrival.

Also going to include Pokemon Sun and Moon because while I agree that the pacing of the game can definitely be improved, I loved the lively characters and the OST and the general feel of the game. While I can understand criticisms, I still feel strongly that SM are a pretty solid pair of games despite its faults.

I loved LA Noire, and if I could delete any game from memory and replay this might be the one.

I read so many complaints about how it was "repetitive" and the clues were sometimes impossible. But I was just so absorbed in being a detective in the 1940's I didn't even care.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare was one of my favourite CoD games, even to this day. It just felt great and fun to play in my opinion; the setting was awesome, some of the guns were sick, and as bad as I am at it, I actually really like the concept of 'jetpack' style gameplay (though because I'm so bad at it I prefer boots-on-the-ground in practice, haha~).

It had its issues of course, just like any other CoD, so I can see why people don't think too highly of it, but I still had a lot of fun with this game back when it was still active on PC (for like a month, lol).

Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories is one of my favourite games but everyone ignored its initial release because it was on GBA and it used cards... and then when it got remade for PS2, the 3D battle field did the game no favours and people hated it for that too. But even though it's kind of a rehash of the first game in a lot of ways, I love the characters and I don't think any KH game has captured the sheer suspense that I had the first time I went through it, where I just had absolutely no idea how things were gonna resolve. The scope was much smaller but the stakes still felt pretty high—or at least more personal than they did in KH1, if that makes sense.

Anyway, it's probably the least liked in the series beyond maybe Coded and I always get shit for liking it. :P

Since being introduced to it by a friend way back in like 2006, I've not really come across people who even know Cel Damage is a thing. It's such a fun, wacky game though. Like if Mario Kart just didn't give a fuck.
