Stuck with css

I know there's a thread, but this is a very quick question, I've made a trade thread and want to change the background colour of it. I followed css instructions but it doesn't work:(
my thread is in my sig btw.

What exactly was your code? If you want something fixed, we have to know what's wrong with it.
